Fantastic article.

Evans G14 Coated on batter side, Evans G2 Coated on bottom side.
No rust or damage to any of the lugs etc.
I spent an hour last night fiddling with one tom and still couldn't get it sounding 'right', if that makes sense. I may invest in a tension key if I can find one.

So, I am and always have been absolutely terrible at tuning toms on a drumkit.
I have fitted new heads to my toms lately and they sound fucking awful. Looking at advice online, it's not massively helpful.
I've read about a 'tensioner' you can get to tune them properly, and R&B have said they can professionally tune them but it's fucking pricey.
Any advice?
-
Milner, would you take any less?

Ah right, in that case I offer you no advice and bid you good day.

Do you mean sticking legs on rack toms? If so, why not use a snare drum stand to hold the toms, rather than using the rack mounting? I do that with my one rack tom and it allows me to place it exactly where I want it without worrying about them moving about when playing.
Also, I have a brand new Gibralter clamp I bought and never used, you can easy have it if you want?

What are they each priced at my good man?
-
How much you after for one of the snare stands?
-
Like the song, although from your Toms gig, I think you have better tracks (just my wee opinion).
I really like Nadia's voice in it, she's quite Cranberries-ish and I like the breath-y vocals.
Bass needs turned up a smidge and I actually disagree with the above posters and really like the guitars.
Drums are inventive as well.

Cheers Sam
Not massively fussed about having a wire up my back to be honest, had a look at some second hand ones on eBay (new earphones obviously).
What's the difference betweeen single and multiple drivers?
-
Spoke to a couple of Engineers and it seems to be as simple as making sure they have a spare channel to plug into. Would also benefit me as the 'ringing in the ears after a practice or gig' has now stretched from a couple of hours to 2 days.

Essentially looking for a bit of advice on these - spoken to a couple of drummers who say they're brilliant and others who say they're not.
Our problem is our keyboard player could really do with his own monitor rather than sharing mine and I'd like to hear a bit more of the band during a gig.
So - in ear monitors - worth the expense? What are your experiences with them? And also, recommend some if you can?

My current kit - Mapex V Fusion with Mapex hardware and Premier Classics Snare. Using 15" Istanbul Traditional hats, with 16" Istanbul Traditional Fast Crash and a 16" Paiste Signature Crash and 22" Istanbul Traditional Ride.
Want to replace my snare fairly soon and could do with some new hardware but happy enough.

I was wondering if it's a more DJ/Electro type event, but then I noticed Little Kicks and Marionettes on the bill.
Plenty of decent local talent in Aberdeen could be added to that bill.

This is identical to my new car - I like it a lot although it fucking drinks petrol like nothing I've seen before.

Can't get the images to upload for some reason, if anyone wants some photos emailed, fire me a private message and I'll email them to you

Nae bother Milner, you can pick up your cymbal too.
You know where we practice right? Next door to the old Exile? I'll be there from 6ish
-
Does the floor tom have legs, or a mount?
Oh but I do have a clamp that I'll chuck in as well? It's a Gibralter one, fits your tom to the cymbal stand.

Legs mate

Yeah using the Mapex one full time now, it's cracking - apart from anything else, I don't have the space to store 2 kits but the Premier is a cracking kit.
I gigged with it for the last year and a half and it's a piece of piss to move. You want to have a look at it tonight?
I had it away on our wee tour last year as well.

Set of golf clubs up for grabs - full set without I think an 8 iron. It has;
Driver
3 wood
Irons
Putter
Comes in a bag with a few balls, tees etc.
It's quite an old set but I played with them last year and they were decent enough. Free to a good home.
