Nah, it wasn't him. I know who you're on about. This was well before his day, probably 12-13 years ago.

Me and my chum got propositioned by a dude on Golden Square yonks ago. Clearly a junkie, he explained to us he'd been "selling his arse all night". It seemed like he was trying to guilt trip us into bumming him or something...
-
One of my pals saw a prostitute getting 'bummed' beside the Neptune one day. Cool story.
Pretty sure Teabags used to be on first name terms with most of the ladies of the night when he lived on What'ya'macall it Street.

Wow, I really miss Aberdeen.

Was it because he was gay or just generally called him one?
I don't think that should really matter too much.

Naturally. I'm sure you know him.
Not too sure. I don't think I've met anyone from The Broch that's homophobic AND racist.

Annihilation was fantastic. Portman was fucking ace in it, and the end was fucking nuts.

That's a pretty bad rap sheet. I take it he's a Brocher.

I've been listening to Morphine for the last few hours. Excellent music for getting caught up with uni' work.

I was once propositioned by a prostitute on Market Street at about 9am on my way to work one day. I was around 22 at the time and she definitely looked younger than me. Pretty fucking grim.
I said no, by the way.

A big hand for Easyjet.

Great to see fuck all happening on the forums for decent stretches of time again. Good work, boys.

Finally watched the new Star Wars today. Not sure it was worth the extended wait I 'forced' upon myself, but it was thoroughly entertaining. There does seem to be a bit too much 'jokes' getting inveigled in amongst it these days though. It's fucking Star WARS; serious business!

That's hoora shite.

How can you tell E.T's a Rangers supporter? He looks like one.
They can't ruin that joke, can they?

When I have ear troubles, I consult the auricle.

That sounds awful.

The film was originally written as something unrelated (like anti-war, black humour; maybe Catch-22, sci-fi, no-enemy-in-particular style), without the fascism. But it was close enough (the verbatim expression "Bug Hunt" was in the film's original screenplay title, in particular) that someone spotted that they should buy out the Starship Troopers novel or face being sued. The director apparently hated the book and tried to satirise the fascism; while people criticise the film for having weirdly ambiguous fascist undertones (or in the age of Twitter, maybe it's just fascist, not sure). The story of the former explains the latter, IMO.
The novel was actually used for "Aliens" more than the titular film, believe it or not. Required reading for all the cast members apparently and "just another bug hunt" was inserted in the dialogue (don't think Aliens paid or got sued). But none of the fascism.
Aye, that sounds about right. Regardless, it's a far better book than "Have Spacesuit, will travel".

I'm halfway through Starship Troopers, by Robert A. Heinlein.
Surprised I've never gotten round to reading this before. Thus far it seems quite different from the '97 film, which is perhaps not a bad thing at all.
