  1. I was hoping it would help me play like him:love: Sadly not the case?(

Like I said it is a great snare. The locking lugs helps it stay in tune and the internal dampner is a bonus. I was told it is difficult to get the sound right and I found that out when I changed the top head to a double ply to get a fatter sound. It completely changed the drum. So if you get one keep with similar heads in comes with.

    Thanks for the heads up:up:

  2. Premier Astria (now re-Christened the Artist Birch)

12" rack tom (mounted on a Premier snare stand, kept extremely low)

    14" floor tom

    22" kick

    13x4" Mapex Black Panther snare

    14"Sabian AAX hihats

    20"Sabian AAx ride

    18" Zildjian K crash

    Tama Iron Cobra single pedal

    Premier and Pearl hardware

Heaps and heaps of assorted percussion including an LP tambourine that the Manics' percussionist used when headlining Glastonbury. Nice gift.

I prefer Evans heads on the snare, Remo Emperor on the rack tom and Remo Pinstripe on the floor tom.

Ah good old Premier. I love them as a brand and always thought they sounded ace! Im sooo excited as I just bought this week another Premier Series kit what was custom made for the Zutons drummer and it has a 26inch bass drum! Cant wait to get it here:popcorn:

  3. I like it. I have had the kit 26 years now and it still sounds great. The new Evans G1/G2 heads rejuvinated it recently. The Ian Paice snare I got from Rhythm Base in Glasgow. Great shop with very helpful and knowledgable staff. Went looking for a maple snare told them the sound I was after (fat rock sound) and they advised the Ian Paice. Love at first strike and a good price too.

Ian Paice is one of my fav drummers! I have only plaid his snare once though but loved it. Its good how it has the retro dampaner on the inside:up:

  4. Could have sworn we did this thread before, but anyhoo:

Sonor SQ2 maple in ridiculous tiger-stripe paint job

Aquarian Super Kick II BD head

    Vater 5A sticks

    Protection Racket/Hardcase cases

    Beyerdynamic Opus mics

    Hey

Yeah we might have done one a while ago but Ive got more kit since then so I wanted to hear what everyone else was using8-)

And DW are cool. I prefer them over Sonor however I love the sound of Gavin Harrison's (porcupine tree) kit! Im curently in the middle of getting some DW 6000 series hardwear stands as they look very retro which will fit in nice with my Premier series kit but more to the point they are ALOT lighter lol! My hardwear bag is killing me to move so need to get some lighter stuff.

  5. Pearl Session Custom SRX 6 ply maple in Marine Blue Fade.

    Standard rock sizes - 12", 13", 16" toms, 22" bass drum.

Pearl Omar Hakim 6 ply African Mahogany 13x5 snare.

Pearl 800 and 900 series cymbal stands.

    Pearl H-1000K hi-hat stand.

    Pearl P-122TW double kick pedal.

    Remo CS Dot snare head.

Remo Ambassador tom heads (changing to pinstripes soon).

Remo Powerstroke 4 bass drum head. Remo falam slam kick pad. Used to use a Danmar click pad but it was too harsh. Also used to use the red wood beaters, but they were killing heads.

Vic Firth 5A sticks. Used to be 8Ds, but getting more power from the 5As.

Nice kit! Pearl are always a good choice. Ive got a Masters packed away but dont use it at the moment as I have a big rig - 8 - 16inch toms and 22 inch base. Dont need it for my current Blus gig so use the Premier. Must admit I LOVE the Omar Harkim snare drum, its one of the other ones I really want to get! If your selling it let me know.

  6. My kit is;

    20 Z Power ride

    Hardware

Tama Iron cobra twin bass drum pedal

Tama Iron cobra Hi hat stand

    Gibralter rack

    Roc an Soc stool

    Sticks

    Promark 747

    Heads

    Evans G2 / G1 on Toms

Aquarian Super Kick 1 on bass drum

    IT

Tama are a good solid brand like. Their Iron Cobra pedals are really good. I remeber playing them a few times. And the Iain Paice snare is one I really want lol! I love his playing...

  7. To all you drummers out there tell me what your set up is currently. I'm a geek when it comes to talking drums so I like hearing what kit, snare, cymbals, stands, skins and sticks you use and why. I have a few kits but this is my set up at the mo I use with Son Henry:

Premier Series Maple in Gunmetal Sparkle:

    10inch tom.

    14inch and 16inch floors

    22inch bass.

Mainly use Premier Modern Classic - 13 by 7inch deep Maple. Sometimes use a 10inch Modern Classic effects snare.

Stands mainly use Pearl from my Masters kit but in the process of changing them to DW 6000 series - very retro and more to the point a hell of a lot lighter!

Skins mainly Remo and sticks Vater:up:

  8. Hi all

I've got a 14inch birch FVF custom snare drum for sale in black with white hardwear and a trick throw off. If you have not heard of FVF drums check out their website - they are fantastic drums and well made. Think of them as a British Orange County. Message me for pics etc.

    Cheers

  9. No offence, that is a hella price! Considering I got a masters with snare for around 800

    Sweet kit tho

Aye I have to agree like. Im a big Pearl fan and Ive spent well over 5-6k on my Masters set up (pictured) but I would get no way near that now if I sold it. Pearl kits have a high depressiation on them as they sell so many. Nice kit though. Love the colour.

  10. Hey all.

Thinking of making some room in my flat so have a look below and make me an offer.

Sonor Jungle Kit in white sparkle. Has 10inch tom. 14inch floor and 16inch bass drum.

    Can send pics if needed.

    Cheers
