  1. Discounting the nightly Arnie film on ITV1/2/3/4, the last film I watched was Moon starring Sam Rockwell and with the vocie of Kevin Spacey. A very, very good lo-fi sci-fi, a definite throwback to the cerebral era of top quality sci-fi films such as 2001. Visually stunning in spite of (or perhaps because of) it's relatively low budget, it also boasts an unnerving and claustrophobic electric score that perfectly sits alongside side a thoroughly engrossing story line.

Set in the nearish future, Sam Bell (Rockwell) is the lone worker on a lunar base used to gather energy from the sun and fire it back to earth. With only the computer GERTY (Spacey) for company and with interference preventing live contact with Earth, Sam has resorted to some inventive ways to help keep his sanity. But as his three year tour draws to a close, the solitude is perhaps starting to get the better of him.

Shant say more, as it has many a twist and turn. Go check it out!

Just giving you all the heads up on this one. The Belfast punk legends return to the venue for the first time since 2007 for what will no doubt be another great pre-St.Paddy's show! If you've never seen them before I'd highly recommend it.

Acclaimed American singer-songwriter Jonatha Brooke has established herself through her effortless merging of folk, rock and jazz coupled with a beautiful and distinctive voice. Her latest album Works is the product of a unique musical project - given special permission by the artist's family, Jonatha has emmersed herself in the archived works of American folk legend Woody Guthrie and produced a stunning album of tracks either reworked from his original writings or inspired from a collection of songs.

These long standing co-vocalists with The Blues Band get a big buzz out of taking things down a level, simplifying the music a little, and plying their trade as a duo, thus imbuing their very own personal and individual approaches to a dynamic, rootsy and exhilarating set of Country Blues. Venues large and small have been hushed and then enraptured by the sense of old times in the Mississippi Delta.

Tickets available from Aberdeen Box Office, 01224 641122.
