  1. The new Gran Turismo game, GT Sport, will have you take part in race etiquette lessons and watch videos on the proper way to conduct your self on the track and podium. But if you do all that and complete the training you can unlock a real life racing license to take to race tracks and race in real life. I shit you not.
So like F1 realism but you get a IRL reward for all the boring real life stuff they stuck in a game.

I used to, but since my game time is shorter now I rarely get the chance to replay a game so I just go right in to the hardest mode and slog through it. Regular checkpoints and saves mean there's not much you can't beat if you're a bit stubborn!

    xx

See if I had less game time, I'd want to make sure I'd enjoy it and not be raging at it. How people manage no save S ranks on Metal Gear I've no idea. I ragequit too often.

Not online though. Never ragequit online. Playing Rocket League, and the amount of people who will quit if they don't win is stupid. Normally goes: we lose, by a goal or two. They agree to a rematch. We go up by a goal or two then win by forfeit. Takes all the fun out of winning if the other people just drop out. I take my losses like a man. Got beat 7-1 the other day. Stayed to the end. But only online. I got killed in No Mans Sky so I quit then used an old save.

  3. I normally do my first playthrough on medium. So I know it's not going to be a cakewalk but also I'm not going to get stuck on a bit near the end forever and not find out how the game ends. Going back to old games after new ones is difficult. Especially MGS with the shitty camera and controls on MGS1. Used a walk through on easy for the MSX games. Fuck that.

Same with Uncharted 4. The controls worked so well. I was fucked on the first 3 when I couldn't hide in tall grass and do easy take downs.

  4. I really enjoyed Metal Gear Solid V. The cutscenes aren't as long winded, no codec calls. Just all the action. Some pretty somber moments sandwiched in between Kojima ogling women's boobs.

Then there's stuff like The Witcher and GTA V. would recommend both of them.

My only pre-requisite for suggestions was 'other than uncharted'. Thanks though

    Any reason why?

Picked up Last of Us not knowing anything about it. Floored. Such a great game. Any suggestions of similar games to this? (movie-like plot + awesome action). I've got the uncharteds except the newest one, which i'll pick up when it's cheap.

Aye so I just looked back and realised I didn't even read that last sentence.

I see there's a new record shop too.

MaidinVinyl. Used to be in a small room inside the Inverurie gym. Glad to see them move to a proper premises. Always had a pretty great selection and were one of the few places in aberdeen to get in RSD stuff. GBOLATB.

Uncharted, by the same studio (Naughty Dog) and that's a great story. Uncharted 4 looks beautiful. And you can get the remastered Nathan Drake Collection (Uncharted 1-3) now for pretty cheap pre-owned.

Picked up FarCry 4 and WWE2k16 cheap as fuck on steam last night. I bought WWE15 on a random impulse from a steam sale and was(Stone Cold) stunned by how much I loved it given I haven't watched wrasslin' since the Attitude era. So when I saw the new 'un for cheapasfuck then I figured I go for it. Looking forward to finishing up work tonight and playing it. Fucking 40GB though, that's fucking mental, right?! I had thought a BIG game was, like 12-15GB?!

    xx

40 is quite regular I think. That's why a 500gb ps4 is basically 90% figuring out what games you want to delete to install a new one and 10% playing the new game.

No Man's Sky. Lot of hype, equal amount of hate. People seem to be getting really mad at Sean Murray for lying. But, all the things he lied about, I don't really care about. Enjoying my minecraft meets animal watching meets space experience.

After getting sick of the utter grind that is unlocking the last cassette tapes in Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, I watched them on youtube then started on Ground Zeroes. Fox Engine is absolutely beautiful and I look forward to MG: SurviVe.

65daysofstatic - Music For An Infinite Universe - No Man's Sky OST

Mesmerising. Perfect moments of peace mixed with a feeling of suddenness and urgency. Been weird having this on while playing Rocket League. Makes that extra time goal feel so much more important. It's perfect for No Man's Sky, and when it booms in while sentinels are attacking me I can go "oh I like this one!"

Brand New - 3 Songs, Reworked

A little miffed that all these years after Daisy, we still only have 3 actually new songs. Mene, it's B-side and I Am A Nightmare. These 3 songs are from 'Fight Off Your Demons', the leaked demos from when they were recording The Devil And God... Since Daisy we've had Mene as a download, then they released FOYD on tape as "Leaked Demos". Then we got I Am A Nightmare on vinyl, then 3 songs from those same leaked demos re-worked. Now they've released Mene with a b-side on vinyl too. Part of me isn't enjoying the money-grabbing from a band that seem to have hit writers block quite hard, part of me is glad I can own these all on vinyl, and part of me is glad that they've reworked these demos, as I'm a bigger fan of TDAG than I am of Deja. And IAAN and Mene seemed to be more deja-like. These songs hint that the new album might be a mix of deja and TDAG. Which I'm okay with. And it's nice to hear these songs recorded proper. Just seems a bit like a cash-grab. And they released a t-shirt with a death date for the band on it. Since Daisy they've been nothing but hype. And I'm the kind of sucker who damns the hype but then jumps on the wagon. Fuck you Jesse Lacey. I always preferred John Nolan as a teen, and now you've got me to switch sides just to break my heart. Fuck you. But keep releasing music. Even if it's old songs rerecorded. Please. But Fuck you. Please.

  9. Seen that program on 4, The Job Interview? Some of the business owners seem pretty decent. One guy got hired cause when they asked him if he could have any superpower, he said "Russia".

Then again, some of the interviewees are terrible. Tell me where you would like to go to eat, anywhere in the world and we'll pay for it. The bloke said he'd just order a dominos. The job was some high end food/drink place.

But there was one interviewer who gave them a phone and then rung it pretending to be a disgruntled customer asking where they delivery driver was. He wouldn't let her put him on hold. Now, as anyone knows, if you want to phone someone who isn't there, maybe a van driver, you'd have to put who you're talking to on hold. And he was having none of it. When they said sorry he was like "dont be sorry just fix it!" the folk that pretended to ask around the office got top marks. I felt like some of them should have asked for his supervisor and phoned them complaining about abuse. Fuck that noise.

  10. I worked with a guy that took his work laptop home and used it as his home laptop. Our work's servers were almost always at a standstill. The laptops routinely backed-up to the server. The silly cunt had used the sync-ing folders for his itunes library, movies, photos. Basically there were two of each folder, one that would, and one that wouldn't sync. He put all his home stuff in the one that would sync.

  11. Anyone watching Ray Donavon? I really like the first season, then got rid of Sky and forgot about it. Noticed it's not 4 seasons deep. I want to get back in to it but would like someone to tell me it didn't go to shit.

  12. Saw Suicide Squad, I feel like I wanted it to be better than it was.
    Major Spoilers:

This isn't the ensemble piece it's advertised as. It's definitely a Deadshot/Harley movie.

Will Smith was decent. Didn't feel enough of the Deadshot character coming through. Unless Deadshot is basically like Will Smith in the comics, then Will Smith did a great job as acting as Will Smith. Margot Robbie was a really decent Harley Quinn. Her biggest jokes were spoiled in the trailers, and they weren't that funny anyway, but I feel she nailed a lot of nuances and apart from the "hey look this is a joke that should get laughs" moments, she was great. Rest of the performances were forgettable. The main army dude was just a dick for the sake of being a dick, and Deadshot's weird loyalty to him didn't sit right for me. Jared Leto was amazing as The Joker. Really loved this version, given enough screen time I'd say it surpasses the bench mark made by The Dark Knight. But for how much hype there was in the trailers and on the news about dead rats and used condoms as part of him staying in character like Danny D Lewis, he just wasn't in the film enough. He had probably the same, if not less, screen time than Ben Affleck. The hole plot was kind of, what's the point? Government lady wants to make a secret task force to take on any 'meta-humans' in the case of someone as powerful as superman but evil showing up. She controls them using an ancient evil witch, who gets loose, and becomes the big bad of the movie. So basically, if she didn't want to make a task force, she wouldn't have needed one. Whole thing felt like it lacked consequence and was really a set up for the next few movies from DC. Plus, there's only so much suspended belief i can muster, we all know (BM V SM spoiler) superman isn't really dead. He can't be, there's Justice League to come out soon. But they need the "Suicide Squad" because they don't have Superman.
One great twist that they could have made better was the mission to rescue a VIP. Turns out the VIP is the government woman who created the team. So everyone is pretty pissed. Also the army that accompanies the Suicide Squad is in the dark about the mission. With the fact that the big bad is created by the government, armies being sent in blind, and using less than moral methods to fix their mistake, this film could have been a really great look at current wars and what governments have been doing in secret. But that would have been a bit too serious for what is essentially DC's answer to Deadpool.

The soundtrack, is full of great songs, but they aren't utilised well. Would have done better with a composer filling in most the gaps, a lot of moments just didn't feel right 'cause it had this song blasting. First half hour is intros and has a new song at almost every character.

All in all, it was good, but not as good as it could have been. I feel a slightly different cut/edit would have made the difference. This is the only DC film from this run that took my fancy, but it was hyped up too much, and made for a bigger disappointment than it should have been. No Martha's though. So there's that saving grace.

  13. I felt a bit of a Gaslight Anthem vibe from it, saying that, I've only ever listened to '59 sound. But I'm enjoying it too. They actually seem to be evolving slightly. They're not trying to write songs that sound like when they first started, like a certain other band who have recently released a new album that's full of stuff that 40 odd year olds shouldn't be singing about and swimming pools to see dicks.

  14. I was a second goer too with Bobs. Netflix are coming down hard on using dns codes so I haven't had my bob fix in a while. but on the plus side, uk netflix gets new Archer almost as soon as its finished in the states. So i'm still getting me some H. Jon.

  15. Outcast - based on the Kirkman comic of the same name. Good, but not the walking dead good. it's made by cinemax, so i didn't set my standards too high. but it's alright. definitely a case of the comics being better though.

Preacher - another comic adaptation, but this time they've changed quite a lot of the plot. the story is still mainly the same (preacher gets super powers) but it has a few different directions that make it better to watch alongside reading the comics. whereas outcast is sticking to the comics pretty hard and any new stories feel like padding.

  16. Childish Gambino - Because The Internet
Really love this album. Great production (far better than camp). Canna be arsed to read the screen play though. 72 Pages? Are you eatin' tho?

    Tyler, The Creator - Goblin

His angstier follow up to his angsty debut. Lot of songs from alter egos/personas. Written a few years ago when he was about 18/19. Features all the stuff that Theresa May banned him from the UK for. You can tell Eminem was a big influence. Dark. Really dark. Really really really dark. His newer stuff is a lot more mellow, less songs about stalking and dracula. But that's what I came for when I put on this album, songs about stalking and dracula and stabbing Bruno Mars.

Taking Back Sunday - Taking Back Sunday

First album they did as the original Tell All Your Friends line up, released a few years ago. Big fan of this. Singing along all the way down to Edinburgh.

Iggy Pop - Post Pop Depression

The stuff he was playing on Jools Holland the other month with Joshua Homme and thon drummer fae thon Arctic Monkeys. Picked it up in Fopp today. Really like it. Mellow. Cool. Yeah dude.

  17. Horace and Pete - Louis C.K.'s new thing he has up on his website. Really good. Typical Louis C.K. it's sadder than it is funny and it tries to be super artsy but I'm really enjoying it. Steve Buscemi is great in it. As is Jessica Lange. Sylvia does my tits in though but I guess she was written to do that (that dinner episode was hard to watch)

Not quite TV Series, but I watched all of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared now that it's finished. needed some youtube theories to make heads or tails of it. HOW'D YOU GET THE IDEA?
