  1. No problem. I didn't mind waiting for you guys to get on stage at all. I'm in a band myself and understand the need to take a piss/get the pints in before going on stage. I just wanted to mention that this, along with me having been told to allow time for a half hour set from you guys was why I had to cut short your set. I hate having to do it, but the DJ's who were on at 11:30 payed to hire the venue and I couldn't run on any later.

Sorry if my earlier comment sounded totally arsey too. I've had a bit of a shit week and was obviously venting through my keyboard. Anyway, I'll no doubt see you guys soon and I'll always try to give time for a full set when I can.

    Cheers.

    Runcie.

except for toxic distortion runcie, just remember that!!!

  2. HAHAHAHAHAHA you were a mess!

Mmm yeah you could say that. The part I didnt even notice the guitarist on the dancefloor when I nearly took him clean out was my favourite. The rest of the night is a bit of a blur like. Shame you guys couldnt have come out. Was a top night. Thats presuming you didnt actually come out as I seem to have no recollection of quite a few people who were there.

    Good times!

  4. AGP are delighted to present the fantastic LUVA ANNA.

From Dundee, Luva Anna forge folk-tinged 4-part harmonies with catchy melodies and riffs, to deliver one of the most incendiary live shows currently on the circuit which both amuse and beguile fans and critics alike.

Luva Anna are the opposite to the neon-clad scensters making music to be forgotten as soon as its aired. A band to truly look out for...

    Clash Magazine

The music is fantastically off-the-wall, a loose approximation of the Coral colliding with the Pogues in its careening folk-rock energy...

    The Scotsman

Coming from the same Dundee scene as The View and The Law, energetic young quartet Luva Anna are possibly the best of the bunch. The closing Angry Fat Bouncer was the best of all, a frantic grudge match that had the entire crowd dancing, proving this is a band who are easy to fall for.

    The Sunday Mail

    SUPPORTS

  5. At Drummonds its impossible with a 8pm door to soundcheck all 5 bands. We arent allowed to make the slightest bit of noise til after 6pm. To set up and soudcheck all 5 would be pretty hard pushed unfortunately - as in the case of the Fat Hippy night mentioned.

  6. Velvet Audio are an ace young band

Velvet Audio on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

The details of what happened are hazy............... it involves ticket sales, and money.

As far as I'm aware it was an AGP gig. Velvet Audio say they were owed money by AGP/Tunnels, and so they kept their money, and Tunnels says Velvet Audio kept money they weren't due.

I think. Fuck knows - all I know is that a really good, young band, who couldn't play much gigs cos their drummer was under 14, but now can as he's turned 14 are now banned from 2 venues in Aberdeen, which is a bit of a pain in the ass for them...

But - I don't know the full story, they maybe deserved it, I don't know.

Mmm this is from ages ago - my side of the story was that bands who sell tickets for our shows (thats AGP) take unsold tickets and money to me at the gig, I then pay them at the end of the night based on that. On this occassion they just kept a 100 odd quid which to be fair is more than I would be paying a fairly new band as they were at the time. At this point I was co promoting with the Tunnels and so understandably they were pissed off with the band and probably me.

I apprecaited they made a big effort to get people along and would have paid them well for that show as they had a lot of people there, but dont agree with them just keeping that amount.

I believe they thought they were owed money from their first gig at the Tunnels too but no agreement had been made for that one and they were on that show as Id never heard them before and wanted to give them a chance to play a decent show as they were just starting.

I have no hard feelings about this at all like. Its forgotten about as far as Im concerned. Im sure if they spoke to Tunnels/Drummonds as in Hen that something could be sorted.

They are a very good band like.

  7. Yes - warm bottles of overpriced Bud will be available at the bar for 3.00.

ah I love that - remember going to something there before and asking for a pint of lager - not realising they only had bottles so lovely bar person pours two warm bottles of bud into pint glass and said pint is 6! Lovely!
