  12. Freshers week is going to be filled with cheese, nasty novelty bars and bad music from all angles... Until the last night that is... Come and join kidProquo at Cut... Edit... Rewind with the mighty Kaya. London based 5 piece hip-hop band consisting of the solid lyrical flows of Natty, uplifted by the incredible voice of Aina and carried brilliantly by the masters of wood, strings and drum skins Tom H (drums), Tom Y (bass) and Matt (guitar). This crisp collective brings you the best in UK hip-hop, no loops, no samples, straight up original full band sound jumping from soul n funk to pop and even DnB. Definitely not to be missed. Don't join others that are still kicking themselves for missing previous Natty visits. This does not stop off on your doorstep anymore, not in Aberdeen. Welcome to C... E...R... bringing you the freshest sounds from the underground. Support great unsigned music. kPq Login | Facebook
  13. Kaya are a band that have single-handedly managed to play all over Europe, supported chart-topping acts such as Sugababes and Ne-Yo, played Glastonbury, performed at the Radio Academy Awards, provided music for TV shows on Channel 4, and most of the line-up were part of a previous collaboration voted BBC Radio 1's Unsigned Band Of The Year in 2003. The group consists of two vocalists Natty & Aina; guitarist Matt; Bassist Tom Y; and drummer Tom H; a five-piece line-up that can entertain any crowd anytime. Their music is a fusion of Jazz, HipHop, Soul, Funk, Pop and Reggae with an occasional light jazzy drum n bass rhythm thrown in to boot, all performed live, no samples. A curious combination, its better to let the music do the talking. Whilst focusing on the writing and recording of their forthcoming album, band members Natty, Aina and Tom Y set up and continue to run Defcon Workshops, a music coaching program for teenagers to help them find a focus and stay out of trouble! The workshops have been running for many years and are requested by an increasing number of councils and schools around the UK. So effective it has been that Natty was made an Ambassador of the Princes Trust in 2007 as a result of this successful and productive project. Kaya give back to the community by being a positive and fundamental part of the community, and their popularity as a group is spreading further every day. tunnels room 2 11pm - 3am 5 entry / 3 students support from kidProquo Links: Official_Kaya Kaya on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Cut... 16. Are you a dog lover/supporter as well as a keen music fan? If so, come along to The Tunnels for a varied and exciting night of music, knowing that your entry fee/donation will be helping me get nearer to experience the trip of a life time as well as, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, raise vital funds for dogs who are homeless, absued and neglected by irresponsible owners. Dogs Trust have teamed up with organizers Voyage Concepts to offer an amazing experience to go to Sweden. Supporters who will be entering this trip will get to experience a week of learning how to control a pack of Alaskan Huskys whilst travelling up to 30 miles each day across the Swedish country; in and out of forests, along the Tabacco Trail and across frozen lakes! This trip would mean so much to me because dogs play a huge part in my life and to have the opportunity to go to somewhere like Sweden and learn something totally amazing will never be forgotten.. This night will also help dogs who have been abandonned by people who do not care for these pets that can teach us so much. For me, dogs are the role model for waking up each day This cannot be done without the support of you guys so tell all yer friends and come on down, knowing that your one donation can help one dog, or one world alone. If you cant make it and would still like to help support, contact Wendy @ miss_techno@hotmail.co.uk Bands: Nicky Powel, Downfall, The Aftermath and Mind Gone Blind. A varied night from Indie progressing to a good bit Metal. each band are great performers and are sure to entertain! the tunnels room 1 sunday 6th september indie/metal doors open 8pm
