Yatai was amazing when i went there, but that was a while ago when it was across from the noose and monkey.
Had a brilliant meal in Malmaison a few months back, the place is truely stunning, great whiskey selection, well stocked wine cellar, which can be viewed through the glass floor at the restaurant's entrance. BUT...very pricey!
Rustico's is probably the best Italian i have ever eaten in, unless it counts Carminies, but it is a completely different experience
La Stella in Adelphi is fantastic, Pretty good value for money too! I think their christmas menu is about 25 quid for 3 courses... Had a 24 hour slow roasted belly of pork there that was to die for!
The Cock and Bull on the A90 just passed Balmedie is fantastic, and not too pricey for the standard. They were awarded an AA rosette last year, are listed in the mitchelin eating out guide and their head chef, Ryan Patterson, recently reclaimed his title of Grampian Chef of the year!
If it is a good steak you are after, in my opinion, you cannot beat The Prime Cuts, but I'm a bit biased working there and all! All our meat is 28 days matured, and so tender you won't ever need a steak knife! It is a bit pricey, but in my opinion compleyley worth it!
Eat on The Green out at Udny Green is a bit special too, if you are willing to travel that far!
Howies is a good shout for some well cooked traditional scottish fayre, and not too expensive either!
If i think of any more i shall add them to my list, i'm beginning to realise why i am always skint!

Damn, can i have second option if it falls through~?

I like Heller State, though seing them play to ten people plus one of their parents in the Tolbooth in ellon was brilliant. The fact that one of their parents was heckling them just made the night memerable.

I feel ashamed that i haven't contributed enough this year to win biggest wanker.

She's my favourite because she doesn't seem to take it too seriously - but I do think she has stupid hair. Did you see her trying to make her own pea soup? Actually trying to mash peas with a masher and add milk!
possibly one of the greatest moments in television history... at least she tries though and doesnt moan constantly like all the other twats.
i like her hair, but thats probably the emo in me speaking

I've started watching it after reading this... i cant believe anyone could make it to 18, nevermind 25 not being able to do a bit of basic cooking and cleaning!
The blonde bird, (dina?) is quite hot... she seems to be one of thoose people who are actually quite clever, but have NO common sense at all.

Too right. I've worked in much bigger and busier restaurants, but the chefs there lose the plot when a table of 4 walk through the door. And the less said about the wine-guzzling managers the better!
When did you work there? I may have worked with you..........
i worked there a few months ago now. the managers are clueless, the head chef was a useless piss head, never once saw him sober in a few weeks working there. the staff turnover was unbelievable, and i understand why... they treated staff like shite. and the food was gash... they couldnt live without their over crowded freezer. never again.
If anyone is ever out balmeie direction pop into the white horse... the new menu is coming together nicely, should have it out by end of next week i believe!

Best: Far too many good gigs, probably Blackout, From First To Last, We Are The Ocean and The Medic Droid... that was an amazing show. or the shikari show years ago where about 30 people turned up. or electric eel shock. or saosin. or alexisonfire, or flood of red, or... i could go on forever really, all teh best times there were just seing amazing bands.
Worst Probably the multiple leg and ankle injuries from slipping down the stairs, mostly while sober or the time a few years ago when i missed my last bus on a satarday night and ended up walking home to ellon, that fucking SUCKED.

the season ending was pretty good, cant wait for s6

I worked in the Union Street Creperie Jacques and they are absolute cunts. Never tried the food (as they were stingy bastards - wouldn't even give you a free staff meal on a 12 hour shift, or even discount) but must admit it looks good.
One tip though - don't be fooled by their 'complimentary home-made cider' - it's actually Strongbow decanted into a glass jug. True story.
I worke there too, it was possibly the shittest place ive worked in my entire life.

Little claim to fame, but my Dad was asked to be on this episode and declined.
I cant understand why anyone would do that, its a lifetime goal of mine to win come dine with me... one of teh most addictive shows on tv i think:up:

8 replies and no mention of Carmines on Union Terrace?
Something ridiculous like 4.50 gets you a 2 course meal and coffee.
The first course is inevitably Ministrone soup, which is better than any other that I have ever tasted.
The pizza/pasta portions on offer as mains are huge, simple and delicious. Probably the most authentic/traditional 'italian' menu in the city. Don't forget to splash out on some garlic bread too though
Carminies is fucking awesome, their pizza's / pastas are to die for, usually have your food infront of you in well under 5 minutes.. and i hear for the meat lovers the lasagne is fucking amazing

When the venue reopens on September 12 it will be called Warehouse,.
I heard about this a while ago and dthought it was a shite name... i still think its a shite name

I went for the Fuji one... and Jessops had an offer of an 8gb memory card and case for 20. So all in all I'm happy.
It's a really straightforward camera to use with no fancy settings. Although there is a baby setting. Haha.
Thanks for your advice!!
EDIT: I was going to give you rep... But I can't!!
8gb and a case for 20 bucks... i need to get my ass to jessops and stockpile.
No problems, hope you are happy with it

That one looks good.
But I also like this one -
Nikon Coolpix S220 Digital Camera - Magenta - Jessops
I think it might be the pink colour that's making it more attractive. Hmmm.
Seems a pretty solid camera, and as i said you cant really go wrong with canon or nikon, same with fuji and pretty much every other reputable manufacturer, id just advise to stay away from Kodak.
The lens on that Nikon in comparison to the Fuji loses out SLIGHTLY at both ends, the wide angle and the zoom, but to be honest with compacts a 3x zoom is always gunna be enough, once you push it past that, even with image stabilisation you really wont be able to take a clear picture without a tripod.
I'd say it looks a pretty decent camera for holidays and general usage!
Just dont forget the price of things like Memory Cards and cases ect. when buying a camera, although acessories arent too expensive they can really add up, and it is always advisable to get a good case if the cam will get chucked in a bag or suitcase a lot, stops any un-necissary damage.

Your cat is 18+ years old? o_O fucking hell!
yup 18 years and 3 months Never had any health problems, and still acts like a kitten.
Besides her i'd probably have to say my Photographs, But im in the midst of copying all my negatives and backing all my photos up onto 2 hard drives... so hopefully they will never be lost.
Although not a posession, my friends probably mean the most to me, but apart from that everything else i have can be replaced.
-
if she counts as a posession, then my cat... had her since my 1st birthday

Finish off in the Buff Club, it's quality. Bath Lane (a little hard to find but worth it)
Thank you so much! I've been trying to remember the name/exact location of that place since my 18th... i remember the place being pretty awesome, but it was hard as fuck to find, never suceeded in finding it since

I did wonder if anyone would pick up on that... i am not a fully fledged meat eater, but have sampled most of the things off the prime cuts menu. I was getting far too ill being a lactose intolerant vegetarian, so am having to try to wean myself back onto 'proper food' as my mum would say.
on a slightly different note, after 14 years without meat, it is really intereasting how different everything tastes from my memories as a kid. I am probably driving my friends insane, but i have been trying a wee sample of everyones food when we have been going out, and some things (turkey for example) taste nothing like what i remember!
