Haven't seen any mention of Lenny Bruce, of his time but definitely an influence on Hicks et al. Anytime I've seen Jerry Sadowitz he's been brilliant, the close up magic is fantastic as well. Looking forward to seeing Frank Skinner and Sean Hughes at the Music Hall, used to really enjoy their stand-up back in the day. Worst ever stand-up was a guy called Simon Fanshawe. I think he won the Perrier award at one point. He was one of these comedian who thought being gay, in itself, constituted a stand up routine, was clearly a major influence on Graham Norton. 1st episode of Curb Series 6 on US tv on Sunday night all you bit torrent lovers.

No doubt seeing talentless shit like the Law getting a recording deal was the final straw for Euan. The man has more talent than Kapranos, and those jakeys from The View, Fratellis and the aforementioned Law added together. Hopefully he'll find success in his next venture.

Anyone else been watching season 6 of the best cop show on tv? This has been one of the best series yet, pity I now have to wait a year for series 7 for my next fix.

Whilst in Dublin for the weekend I bought The National's newish album Boxer, which is superb and Damien Dempsey new one, To Hell or Barbados, which is excellent in some parts, particularly Kilburn Stroll and pretty average in others, but overall worth having.

I agree that there have been a few episodes which have tied up the threads with characters like Junior but the last couple of weeks have been superb. The knowledge that each time the credits role you are one episode closer to the end is painful. 'No need to get cunty' - Walnuts to Chrissie

Whilst waiting to hear the new White Stripes single on Zane Lowe's show last week, I had the misfortune to have to endure 'The Don' by The View. I thought I was listening to a really bad cover of 'When I'm Cleaning Windows' by George Formby, or the banjo playing character from the Fast Show that sometimes appeared with Arthur Atkinson, although I'm probably doing both the aforementined a dis-service. It's the same with the Fratellis. My contention if a song can be used as a goal celebration then it's clearly sh*te. White Stripes single was/is very good btw.
