  1. All sold, except the Langtronics boost. This is a boutique pedal which works a treat when used to drive a valve amp or use as a solo boost, and it's for sale @ only 20 quid!
  2. Anyone know if there are any decent guitar techs/ guitar repair workshops in and around Aberdeen?
  3. This guitar is in excellent condition and comes with a flight case. The guitar retails at 400 and the case at 80. I'm looking for 150 o.n.o. I'm selling in order to raise funds for a resonator, otherwise, this is a fine, solid wood acoustic that knocks spots off cheaper laminate alternatives (and 150 with case ain't a bad price!) Here's the spec: Vintage VEC1400 Electro-Acoustic Series Top: Solid Spruce Back: Solid Mahogany Sides: Solid Mahogany Binding: Flame Maple - Top, Flame Maple Sides Purfling: Inlaid Abalone Soundhole: Inlaid Abalone Back/Bottom Centre Line: Multi-Layer Birds-eye Maple Neck: Mahogany, Two Way Truss Rod Fingerboard: Rosewood Bridge: Rosewood Saddle: Compensated Scale: 648mm Preamp: Shadow SH863 Pickup: Shadow Piezo Transducer Controls: Volume, Bass, Treble, Pre Shape, Phase Reversal Switch Tuners: Grover 102G Gold

  6. Glad to hear you're happy with it. Just wish Dolphin Music would get round to posting out my Deville:rolleyes:
  7. For all of you who PMed me yesterday about the amp, I've just sold it to Stewartmaxwell. Thanks for your interest though!
  8. Just want to make it clear to everyone, that whoever comes up with the flapatonians first takes away the amp, and right now I'm still looking at it as I type, so.......
  9. Well, this is about the fourth Peavey Classic I've owned over fifteen years, and I've bought myself a Fender Deville for a change. Until now, the Peavey has been my favourite amp, but I can't justify having both of them, so it's got to go ...
  10. Still for sale at 200, but I'll probably put it in Scot-ads for 250 If I can't sell it here. Can't believe that no-ones snapped this up - all- valve, twin channel amp in good nic, for two hundred quid? What can you get for that price that's even halfway decent? Whoever buys this will have got themselves a real bargain....
  11. I'm taking this amp to the Globe on Thursday, and unless I sell it locally, will be putting it on Ebay at the weekend starting at 250 . Willing to sell for locally for 225, or If anyone offers me 200 and a pint at the globe, it'll be a done deal...
  12. Last Aberdeen gig before the band head south to open the Burnely National Blues Festival. This gig will also be recorded live... www.sonhenry.com
  13. You can see pics of my amp here: eBay.co.uk: Peavey Tweed Classic 50 212 All Valve Amplifier (item 170081870644 end time 22-Feb-07 12:21:34 GMT)
  14. I'll try and post pics tonight guys. I'm at on a late shift right now, so pics won't be up until later.
  15. Gonna put this on Ebay in a couple of weeks, so last chance saloon for anyone that's interested. Willing to let it go for 225, which is the price I'd start the bidding at on Ebay. PM if interested.
  16. Cost 700 new, tweed, two channels all valve amp. I've hummed and heyed about selling this, as it's a monster amp with a crystal clear, punchy clean channel, and a dirty channel which sounds fabulous, especially when augmented with an overdrive pedal. The amp's in fairly decent nic: two knobs are missing which I've never bothered to repace as it's easy enough to use the dials without the knobs, but nothing major. Looking for 250 o.n.o for a quick sale, which is a great price for this amp. If you're interested, or want to try it out ,PM me. (alternativley, the band I play in will be at The Globe in Aberdeen on Thur 29th, and I'll be using it then, If It's not already sold, If you want to hear it cranked up!)
  17. I've recently bought a couple of Behringer pedals (Blues Overdrive, and Vintage Tube Overdrive - copies of the Boss Bluesdriver, and Ibanez Tubescreamer). I bought mine from Dolphin music a couple of weeks ago when they were doing the pedals for 11, apart from the Tubescreamer copy, which was 19. Ok, they're not as robust as the Boss pedals, but they sound great for the price, are incredibly quiet, and well worth trying out.
  18. Have to disagree with the above post. The AKG 1000 is an excellent all round condensor for a home studio, and is great with both vocals and acoustic instruments for that price range. I've had no problems whatsoever with close miced stuff, and have had impressive results with vocals, acoustic guitars, blues harp, as well as micing amps etc.
  19. I've an AKG 1000 condensor, with case, 1 year old, studio use only - yours for 70....

  22. yep, forgot to say on Tuesday - 300, but I've had a couple of pms, so I'm just going to have to say whoever's first with the cash gets.
  23. Best advice I have is to learn by playing things slowly - painfully slowly. Why? There are obvious advantages: it develops your awareness of what you're trying to to, It helps you focus on the fingering/timing of the chord shape or phrase, which makes accuracy more important than speed/ tone etc. There's a physiological element to this which isn't musical - it's about developing muscles/ co-ordination and programming muscle memory. You'll find that it's so much easier to play chords/make changes/ play tricky passages at tempo if you practice them slowly. I think this takes a little discipline too, as there's a bit here about delaying gratification: we always want to try to push the boat out and play faster than we're ready to play something, which is always counter-productive. Good practice habits pay off massivley when it's time to perform! (Another hint - singing or humming what your trying to do helps connect body and mind and is another tool for placing awareness back to what your practicing.)
  24. Peavey tweed classic 50 212 amp in decent condition, costs around 700 new - will swap for Fender valve amp. pm me if interested.
