  1. Just back from seeing this and i really enjoyed it, the people in the cinema didn't seem to agree with me though, i heard a very loud "well, that was shit" from the back and someone else went "huh?" at the end. My friend thought it was awful, too long and nothing happened.

Don't know what they were on about, i had only 1 complaint (not film related) I had to go to the beach to see it, i hate the seats there, they are not comfortable at all, and for a 2 hour plus film comfy seats are needed

Yeah, when i saw it, there were some people who didn't get it. and while i loved it, a lot of folk seemed baffled by the end. My girlfriend didn't enjoy it too much, but i wasn't suprised because she rarelely enjoys films i subject her to.

We went to the beach first but decided belmont might be better. Though still incredibly sore arse at the end of it.

  2. Someone should tell these Fag-Hater chaps that the lad was an actor, and not actually homosexual.

I'd just invite the Gay & Lesbian Alliance along too, arm both sides with an assortment of cheese graters and rolling pins and let the games begin.

They dont give a shit. I remember watching the Louis Theroux documentary and the whole thing was them picketing the funerals of soldiers who died in iraq.

They all deserve a kick up the arse.

  3. I thought death proof was superb. Planet terror was a good laugh but a bit too ridiculous, even for a b-movie homage.

Knocked up i thought was really good. I thought american gangster was good but only because washington and crowe were brilliant.

Also, don't know if it was orginally released this year or what but recently saw 'science of sleep' by michel gondry. Absolute mind fuck, but very good all the same.

  4. Has anyone seen the Number 23 or Death Proof?

Both share the spot of worst film of 2007 IMO.

Yeah, i saw deathproof. I thought it was awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed it. But i'm a tarantino entusiast so i was expecting as much. I was just gutted it wasn't released as grindhouse.

Have to agree with others here and say golden compass was absolute garbage. Shouldn't have been adapted. Not even sam elliott made it any better.

  5. ginger wildheart

Don't know about famous, cause really unless your a fan you wouldn't really care, but i got to interview ginger wildheart for the au paper last year when he came up with the god damn whores. That was awesome. I'd been told through the grapevine beforehand by soemone who'd worked with him he could be a real prick, thankfully that was not the case.

Also tommy burns, who was also a lovely guy, but then again being a celtic fan no doubt helps.

Though prpbably most famous person is Nick Cave. Though didn't actually met him, just walked past him, turned to my brother and in unison just went 'that was nick cave; fuck'. The people you se shopping on princes street.

  6. I've had a few songs kicking around for a while that would no longer fit in with my current band. Though i still want to do something with them.

I've put one up, which is a recording of an old but thoroughly discarded HalfJack song on a new myspace. (they're egging away from the pop)

    MySpace.com - Bernie Bernbaum - UK - Powerpop / Big Beat / Rock - www.myspace.com/berniebernbaum

I've been listening to a lot of Divine Comedy, Weezer, Ben Folds, Roger Jospeh Manning jr, The Beatles and Todd Rundgren lately to name a few. That might give you some idea of what the aim is.

Looking for the obvious set up up of lead guitar/bass/drums but anything else such as piano/keyboards/string players/brass players and also people who like harmonies and can sing them.

Have a listen to the song on the myspace and if anyones interested give me pm or email me at diarmaidogallagher@gmail.com or leave a message on the myspace.

  7. Cheers Dave. Heard snippets of 'awesome power' but not enough to get a good idea. Though did sound as you say like it wasn't nearly as good as the mid-career p-funk. (maggot brain, clones and standing on the verge are my favourites).

I'll have a look at runt and ballad (there the first two aren't they?). Is his stuff with Utopia any good or is it for aquired tastes and not necasarily the pop lover i am?

  8. First off, don't fret, i'm not comparing the two in any way. However, i have a quesiton about both.

Firstly, does anyone know where to get a copy of Clinton's 'The Awesome Power of a Fully Operational Mothership'. I've never been able to find it. Also, is it any good. I've heard its 'awesome' but who knows.

Also, does any one like todd rundgren. Long shot maybe, but i've been listening to his something/anything? album and its great. Want to have a look of his other stuff but not sure what to go for seein as theres tons of the fucking stuff.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers Diarmaid
