Celtic will raise their game from the weekend with the occassion of playing in Old Trafford and the whole build up to the game but as someone said - Man U are absolutely flying at the moment. I hope I'm wrong though.

Regarding the "support" debate, I'd have to agree that it is entirely your choice but I'd always ask someone for a good reason that they support/follow a particular team. The "my Dad supported them" reason is good enough for me. If I ever have kids that are into football they will be strongly advised/threatened to support/follow the Dons, whether I still live here or in Glasgow or Beverly Hills (with my little fantasy football family of the future....). Apparently if I do live in Beverly Hills I'll no longer be a "supporter" due to being unable to attend Pittodrie so my passion may start to fade being a mere "follower" and I may even allow my children to watch American Sports.....

As far as religion goes, if you are a devout catholic and want to support Celtic for that reason, go ahead. Even if you're not a devout catholic but that is your heritage then that is equally as good a reason. I don't think it has much to do with the church anymore for anyone.

Common as muck and allegedly poofy - Marlboro "Golds" (formerly "lights") when out and about. A Regal is nice for a change if you're feeling really hard. Amber Leaf or Golden Virginia when kicking about the flat where rolling a cigarette doesn't seem like so much of a hassle. I like Golden Virginia better but I like the little box you get with Amber Leaf with "free papers" in it even though they are too thick. Also Golden Virginia can be fun because they have the word "virgin" in them. That's someone who hasn't done it yet, but that's by the by....

Whilst on the subject, there should be more facilities for disposing of cigarette butts. Surely it should be law that every pub requires a bit ash tray type thing outside it? We'll be driven from the streets soon enough anyway..............if the lung cancer doesn't come first.

I didn't really know The Datsuns and had them bracketed in with all the other indie bands called "the (something)" that I was vaguely aware of 4 years ago or so. I wasn't expecting full on rock n roll explosion with wailing guitars. Pleasantly surprised although I don't think I'd buy them on record as their tunes seemed a bit samey.

Someone please explain the "legend" status that "The Hoff" seems to have gained over the past year?! I hadn't really considered the fucker's existence until the beginning of a steady deluge of "hoff" related e-mails into my inbox that began a year ago. A shit actor and a shit pop star better left in the past as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure he's now making megabucks again through advertising campaigns due to his unexplained rise in popularity. I thought his popularity in Germany as a pop star was something us cool brits could use as a scoffing weapon at Germans?! Ironic legend or a man to be respected?! I dinna get it either way.

I don't think the artic monkeys album is that good. It last a couple of weeks in my cd player and hasn't really been touched since. The album has also been booted off my MP3 player now.

Exactly the same with me, couldn't really get into it although I saw them at Reading (albeit the TV) and thought they were extremely rocking.

There's no doubt some truth in your ill advised comment as there are no doubt numerous false claims of this nature, particularly against "celebrities". I'd still be taking every claim seriously until proven otherwise. Then I'd arrest and lock up false claimants for lying, hurting people, wasting everybody's time and money and putting doubt in people's minds when there is a genuine accusation of this sickening crime.

It is a part of British Culture and a topic of interest hence there being successful films and literature about it. I don't understand the point about it being any good for a football club. I remember Ebbe Skovdahl's mug being on the 10 o'clock news with the headline "worst team in Europe" in his first season when we had failed to score or pick up any points about 10 games in. That was some prime time exposure of AFC too but I can't say I was proud of that either! Having known AFC casuals in the past and listened to their reasoning, it seems once you have the "bug" it's hard to get away from it. I have no stomach for violence so it's not something I'd ever get into but if people want to kick each other's heads in and no "innocents" are being pummelled that's fine by me - I just wish it was kept totally separate from football.
