  1. Standard boss overdrive stompbox.

3 controls for Level, Drive and Tone.

Some tiny chips in the paint around the rubber pad, but otherwise aesthetically and electronically sound. Bought by me brand new a few years ago, and only ever gigged once. Really pumps up the amplifier, and rattles the windows when put between some single coils and a valve amp.

    35 quid?

  2. Another thing to grind my gears is the Daily Record letter like notes one of my neighbours has posted on the front door of my building regarding me playing guitar during the fuckin' daytime.

    'SOME people work nightshift'

Some people might have the cojones to at least sign a name at the bottom of a note, or even instead knocking on my door and a) asking me nicely to turn it down, or b) beating me in unarmed combat like an 8 year old with no hands.

Banging on the wall like a dick gets nothing solved either.

  3. yeah but what the similarities in the vocals' date=' the tempo?

    the songs?[/quote']

Thing is, it's just very very unlikely.

RHCP released a double album. I can't see Frusciante kickin' back with 27 songs, having a wee listen to Tom Petty and thinking 'hmm, I'm completely out of ideas, and hell, 28's a nice even number'. Then just to be cheeky bastards, they'd decide to release it as their first single.

It's more likely that it was a subconcious accident. A very expensive accident, but it was unlikely a mallicious thing.

  4. If you already have a more 'standard' fuzz then it should do nicely' date=' if you can get hold of the absolution dvd by muse you see him playing around with the oscillation a fair bit, and I think John Frusciante of the Chilli Peppers uses it for some of his leads nowadays for a couple of examples. but in addition to a more standard fuzz it is excellent fun for playing around with and making huge swathes of noise

I went for the vexter, as its exactly the same pedal just minus the paintjob, so you are only really paying for 'mojo' and no sound benefits or anything, which wasn't really worth it to me. If you do get one of hte painted ones, see if you can get hold of one of the Laura Bennet ones, she has started painting pedald for Zvex too and they do look rather nice :) just a change from the usual green really

Yeah! The Matt Bellamy craziness was exactly what I was looking for. The fuzzface is good for jesus and mary chain/hendrix fuzz at the very best, and if overdriven some utter death rattle which is kinda unintelligible. Other problem I've got with it is that being built into a crybaby, the on-off switch is a tiny red button on the side which is a right bastard to kick while in the middle of some serious rocking out.

I'm not totally resigned to the hand painted job, but seeing as I'll be working full time over the summer and still retaining all the benefits of being a 'fuckin student', I'll have a bit of cash to hurl about hopefully  I'll go google the laura bennet ones and see what I come up with, although it would mean importing one I'd imagine...

  5. means to an end' date=' BB wouldn't let her walk so she got chucked out, two gone in as many days, in the first week. They should just cancel the eviction this week seeing as dawn was up for eviction.[/quote']

It'd be somewhat unfair on voters though. Cashing in their 50ps only to be told that channel 4 will be keeping it all for no aparent reason.

Although I say if you're gonna vote on Big Brother, then you'd be as well throwing a fiver in the fire. It's occasionally bloody good telly this year, but it's disgusting to think how much the public spend on it every year.

  6. Thanks very much old bean. I've already got a fuzzface built into my wah wah, so I'm definately after something with a bit of 'beautiful noise'. My new band requires me punching holes in the fuckin' wall, so I think the zvex is the way to go.

I checked out Mansons and their prices are pretty standard. At least they're a reputable company. Nooow... should I buy the basic one or get the marvelous hand painted job? Decisions...

  7. he has a fair and reasonable point' date=' he just shouldn't have moaned like an immature 10 year old whinge to the masses about it, he should've put the point across without sounding so pathetic.[/quote']

On the other hand, he coulda just left it, like an adult. It's just a bleedin' label...

Obviously he doesn't know the origins of emo anyway. The Get Up Kids are in no way a blueprint for it either.
