I fault you on your constant holier-than-thou attitude towards other peoples music tastes

When was the last time a decent band emerged from Aberdeen that was actually original and not hideously clichd or talentless?
copy ha ho
filthpact
project: ven hell
the staccato set
small enclosed area
have all been out in other cities/countries doing their thing. all pretty talented and not a cliche in sight
its a diverse list
perhaps you dont look hard enough
-
why not go and hand out flyer sin the likes of exodus/tunnels etc and places where you may find people that share your tastes
actually talk to people
mind you, i think you will do well to get serious band members given the fact that you are leaving this "shitty" city in september
-
Unless you're a clueless cunt.
Or a talentless cunt.
So I guess...maybe for you...

the moss on top of drakes deserves an award too

i have never done coke or bought coke in venues in aberdeen
i was talkign about the drink and not the "good time" stuff
-
nah more DIY as a way of operating in general.
releasing, distro, gigs, gig swapping, zines, contacts, etc
too many people in abdn do this the hard/idiotic way
-
ive bought coke many a time in venues in aberdeen
i just act drunk
-
worst pun ever
its a shame to see a good DIY go to the tubes
posting that here has nae fuckign point though, aberdeen wouldnt know DIY if it smacked it in the face.
cant wait for that silverfox events night

LAETO
for fucking sure. you watch laeto, you dribble and marvel at their ability
then you hear the sound AH whit! i have never heard a dundee band sound so fucking professional. amps are mighty, their heavy bits are heavy, their clean bits are clarity to crystal and they have the tunes to reel in the biggest shark
ALL HAIL LAETO - KINGS OF THE RIFFS AND RIGHT HOOKS
comparing them to the likes of black atom and onion terror does is taking the piss, as entertaining as both can be, we are talking different calbires and superior performances here
-
Im there
worst news i have heard tonight (other than the fact that BALTIKA will not been on draught doon the moorings until after new year - ah whit)
-
whenever I go there for a gig I find it's too loud' date=' the sound techs don't seem to realise that it's a small area, you don't need loud volume to fill the place.
And having no mobile reception is a pain *shrugs* that's it really.[/quote']
its not too loud, its just generally a bad mix for the shape of the venue/attendence
i have heard some awesome sound in there, gatechien, caribou (first time) and ASVA being particular standouts
-
imagine charging £1 for a shot of cordial and £2 for a pint of coke (the syrup stuff)
*ahem*
