  1. Yeah I agree with that. The fan base seems to have drifted away too... to emo land or something.

    I think you're wrong.

and there is only one "emo" band in aberdeen as far as i can see and thats Lost. And yes i know its not "real emo..."

There are heaps of gig goers and new gig goers in Aberdeen that would love Quik if the ywere put in their face as much as the likes of Stayover, Blessed, MMW et al....

  2. awesome line up. will be at this one for sure. enjoyed allergo for the first time at the beecher show (as in seen em before but never liked.) blessed are one of the UK's finest, as are Today We Fight who are on of my fave UK bands. I also really want to see element 106 again as i enjoyed them at Hogs charity show. Statue i will pay attention to this time as i was talking while they were on. should be a good one.

  3. Ok now I've had a chance to actually see MMW live' date=' I feel I'm in a position to give proper critism on them.

Firstly, their genre is not my thing at all. I thought that all I could hear was a Funeral for a Friend spin off band. I'm sorry, but the guitars and vocals didn't show any hint of originality. Infact all of the songs were too similar for me to even notice any difference between them. They are obviously not good at what they do, but from watching last night it is horrifically obvious that all they do is play up to this "emo" fad and give these whinging 13 year olds with piss poor haircuts another hour of songs to cry to.

That is my honest opinion, I thought that the guys seemed actually reasonable in real life, especially Jamesy (actually scratch that, the singer seems like a complete cunt, a total nancy boy and if he said "Thanks Guys" one more time I'm sure he would have starting crying on stage) but I just really can't see anything in the music that I would call original, or even interesting.

Other than that I'm glad the gig went well Hog, however your reasons for switching the order still remain a mystery to us...[/quote']

Ok fuck the music doing the talking...

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

What a fucking tossbag you are HAHAHAHAHAHA.

You're right, im a total cunt, and yes i'm a total nancy boy. It gets me girls...you should try it man ppffffttt!

All our songs sound the same, JESUS! You actually have no idea how bad your piss poor band are do you? Your guitar tones are the worst. They sound like a belt sander about to burn out. Scorges drumming is actually HORRIBLE. The vocals HAHAHAHAHAHHA!! What the fuck were those?? I'll give him the name of my vocal coach..in fact..nah, I wouldnt subject him to that voice.

I seriously DONT think you know how bad your band is. I actually felt embarrassed for you onstage and the way people were leaving. You were by far the WORST band on that bill by a huge amount.

Youre the kind of band that makes me feel that youre wasting electricity by performing.

Oh and if you want these comments said to your face ill gladly do that. Just ask where the "nancy boy" from Weapon is...im easy found.

Maybe i say "thanks guys" because we have people that care about our band and enjoy our music and it means alot when they are moving for us, singing and enjoying what we do. Its a great and humbling feeling. Shame you'll never have that.

you did add to the night though. Basically you had good bands and then some comedy relief at the end with your set. Thanks for that

  4. Well one that works for me ok is that you go upto a girl at the bar ok...and you put an ice cube on the bar and crush it in front of her. You then say "Now that i have broken the ice can i buy you a drink?" Thats my pickup advice!!

Oh...shit...oh Pick ups for guitars...ohhh haha, teach me to read the thread!!

    :D

  5. Im not going to rate the bands either other than to say I will go see another element 106 show. for me them and Stayover shone above the rest. REALLY enjoyed Stayover last night.

Hog, well done mate...really well done. Great night, great atmosphere.

Thank you for asking us to be a part of it.

Well done to everyone involved, and all who turned up and checked out some stuff you might not normally as well. Thankks to the Wrecking crew for all being on the floor when we were on.

Extra special thanks to Neil who came along and did our sound. You rule.

  6. two things that i think after reading that post hog.

    1) We make this a great night, keep it to good, light hearted banter between any bands that have "issues" between them. This night should be fun and we should ALL remember the cause fro which we are playing.

    2) We bring as much folk as possible.

    See you Sunday.

  7. Well you obviously haven't seen the "Imagine" film where' date=' at the height of Lennon's popularity, a clearly disturbed fan turns up at Lennon's home saying John was writing the lyrics about him. Rather than phone the police or simply chuck the guy out, Lennon, without even thinking invites him in for some food and lets him sit at the table with his family and producers. He invited an unknown photographer to photograph the Imagine sessions and gave him the opportunity to hang out with George Harrison and Phil Spector. etc. etc.

    He never beat up Yoko.

Granted, his music was abysmal near the end of his life, but if you're talking about "good things in a short life" I think you'll find that despite being one of the most famous and recognisable faces in the entire world Lennon had a lot of time for his fans.

The guy was shot giving an autograph to a guy for the second day in a row for fucks sake! and he did it with no worries and was shot five times for his openess.

Lennon deserves the same amount of respect as "Dimebag."

They both meant a lot to a lot of people, but just because you don't personally like one doesn't mean you should dismiss what they did.

Me? Don't like Pantera. Still respect and realise what "Dimebag" did for the metal genre and how talented he was. You just have to look at all the tributes that poured in to see how popular and down to earth he was.

Anyway, have some respect for the dead...........[/quote']

    Post of the week.
