Oh and I wouldn't be put off by the idea of signing setlists etc. We only really had to do that at festivals, and it took no more the 5 mins to do so

It is absolutely worth signing up to PRS if you are a touring musician and releasing material. I will admit, at first I did find the process a little daunting - the website is a touch confusing. However top marks for customer support - if you call them with a problem they will talk you through each step of the process. They are really friendly and don't make you feel like an idiotic time-waster. I must have called them 5 times in the space of an hour! Since we signed up to PRS, we have received decent money for our festival appearances last year, live BBC sessions + every single time your song is played on podcasts/radio stations etc you get a royalty payment. It has really helped us in times where we need money for recording - as I am sure you know Phil, every little helps when you are on the road, if your van breaks down/fails MOT and all the rest!!
  8. I have heard good things about Sandberg...is it a pm4? This USA Highway Jazz is still for sale - 425pounds anyone?!
  9. Still for sale! Some one make me an offer
  10. Aye, they are delightful! I am hoping to upgrade to a USA standard Jazz bass
  11. It is around 4 years old. There are scratches on the body, I'm not going to lie! But despite this it still looks and sounds ace. Because of the different type of finish the body has, the scratches don't look as bad as they would do on a guitar with a thick lacquer finish! If any one is interested, feel free to PM me and make an offer
  12. Hi folks, Nah this wasn't Dave's bass. It is indeed super nice though! Any body interested ?
  13. Hello, I am looking to sell my lovely Fender USA Highway 1 Jazz Bass guitar (candy cola colour), as I am upgrading. This is an American made bass guitar. It is awesome; looks great and is a total joy to play. It has served me very well over the past year! It has been professionally set up so that it sounds as good as possible. It has one or two small scratches on the front body, and a few more on the back (due to my belt). Otherwise, it is in great condition. Pics below. Looking for 450 o.n.o. Yer welcome to try it out first Steve.
  14. That is a shame! For me, not for you! Ohhhh well.
  15. OK so for better of for worse, I discovered that it is indeed the CAB at fault here! Tried my back up amp head, changed all my leads, used another guitar...same problem. Same evil crackling sound. So going by what I have read and what people have told me, I reckon it could be faulty electronics round the back. A friend of mine recommend that I open it up and attempt to by-pass the circuity (with the cab volume control etc), plugging my amp directly into the drivers. That way I can determin if the electronics are fucked. Hopefully ALL my speakers haven't blown! If they have, I don't know how the hell I did that!?! I always play at a safe volume.
  16. Richard did you have any luck with this?! Reason I ask is that we are in DIRE need of a van to use on Monday. Our bastard vehicle failed its MOT and we are awaiting the repairs. We need to transport all 4 of us + our gear to BBC Studios in Glasgow for COTC's session with Vic Galloway. If any one reading this can help, please PM me! Thanks Steve
  17. Thanks for all the advice/help guys. I will try some of this tonight. Fingers crossed as I need it to gig this weekend! Re: I have no experiece with checking/servicing valves...so I may need to read up a little on that first!! Can you buy pre-amp valves anywhere locally? Thanks again folks Steve
  18. Hello, Whilst rehearsing the past few days, my bass rig (Ampeg SVT3pro + Ampeg 8x8 cab) is producing a nasty crackling sound played at medium-to-high volume. I removed the cab cover and put my ear to all the speakers. The crackle is coming through all the speakers, not one in particular. Tomorrow night I am going to try running my backup amphead through the cab, and see if the same sound is there. If it is NOT, then it must be the amp head. If the sound is still there, then the problem lies in the cab. I think. Any one had any experience with problems similar to this? Where a crackling sound was produced, without believing any specific speaker to have blown? Some one online said perhaps the circuit board in the back of my cab could be dodgy. Booooo. I hate tech issues when all you want to do is beast out some tunes!! Thanks in advance,
  19. Cheers people. We have been asked to perform 2 of our own tracks and a cover of a contemporary song! So, keep your ears peeled!!
  20. Hi all, Just to let you know that we will be performing some tracks live in session with Vic Galloway on his BBC Scotland show on Monday 1st March. Well excited, and a little nervous, about this!! Tune in between 8-10pm to hear us!! Hope ye enjoy, Cheers. COTC. 21. STILL for sale. You are welcome to try it out either at my home with my trace elliot practice amp, or in our rehearsal space through my Ampeg rig.
