yeah i was speaking to the bloodstock representative whilst the shady underage coverband was on and he just said in my ear " i thought i was pretty fucking specific when i said no bloody covers "

Also, sound guy was a cunt to me, i clearly dont get on well with sound engineers haha

at least it was a unanimous judge and not text voting/crowd voting etc, filth like that

if nothing else had amazing banter in the green room with the other bands, we have to get Syth up here at somepoint!

a band called Switchbalde Scream one, some people are annoyed at that but hey ho thats how it goes, im not to bothered, they were a good band!

we played fantastically from what i hear, haha! i go off into my own world on stage...so im happy with that

Before i begin, id like to say this is not a gripe just because we came second last year

But, i would like to warn all bands and artists about a competition happening this year in November, its called The Red Battle

Its a farcicle battle of the bands which most bands pulled out of halfway like Enrapture, due to realising its absolute insanity

They want you to pay 50p a vote and Text for the bands to win, which is ridiculous, because it then becomes a competition between who can make the red battle the most money by racking up there mobile phone contract bill

not to mention half way through the competition they mention oh, you wont get payed unless you sell 50 million tickets

Oh and for most of the shows they charge a ridiculous door price, and with each heat the price goes up.

Im pretty sure a lot of the bands who played it with us last year will agree it was an absolute farce...Apart from the winners of course haha

Anyway, its a LOT of unneeded hassle for local bands, so i just wanted to give y'all a bit of a pre-warning, as theyve recently started accepting applications

for those of you already confirmed for it, good luck! but honestly, i think youll see after the first heat that i'm right.

theres some massive prizes up for grabs in this competition, but you'll lose your dignity and respect for it.

anyway yes, Red battle 09 - avoid if possible, just giving my two cents of advice! dont have to follow it. and again its not a gripe because we came second in it last year we all wanted to pull out with the rest of the guys in round 2! but thought we'd see it through to the end.

Clarissa's a very, very good drummer...most people assume girl drummers are gash, but shes fucking pure metal!

Not to mention being fucking deadly with a sword haha

but i dont know if hes mad for selling it...

i will say though, it can be a bastard to fit to a guitar that doesnt have much room between the bridge pickup and the actual bridge

Also, if your playing really really fast shred, it cant mis-trigger a lot,

Greame at seagate is a fucking legend, the quality of these new recordings we have ( which or not up yet, still finishing touches being made ) is just incomparable, seagates a fucking gem, i recommend any aberdeen band to make the trip down to this place to record.

sounding good, its not my kinda music glass wolves, but it sounds good.

there wasnt really specifically any " rules " about covers, BUT

the compo statement thingy did say " be original " etc, i also heard they were being banned from the comp for stealing elements, what was it neil said, drum stands or something? cant remember. oh well.

if we win the final, we'll make sure we represent Aberdeen well! although ive a feeling burning earth are much more suited to bloodstocks recent years of darker, deathier kinda metal, instead of its old roots of trad-power metal! who knows though.

personally ill be happy if anyone except deadly inscription go through

I turns out that 2 more bands got through

Syth and Deadly inscription....Syth are pro, so they deserve it

deadly inscription though? that was the band that played 3 covers and used lots of very suspiciously recognisable riffs, they were on the same heat as us and element, and element were far better than them...

fuck knows, 6 bands on one night though, that'll be a squeeze

mostly concerned about burning earth, they are highly bloodstock material...we'll just have to see what happens.

we're already playing metalfest UK this year with like, 10 of our biggest influences in music so its no biggy either for us if we dont win...

it would be " nice " to get through and win though huh, i mean, its bloodstock.

you guys heard anything yet? the final heat was monday night, dunno if theyve announced whos going through or not yet. we aint heard anything, so either we didnt go through or their taking their sweet ass time

yeah, 3 covers was pushing it a bit, and i know what you mean about borrowing riffs, there was one song they played i was certain was gonna be Aerials by system of a down, the intro was almost exactly the same.

they told us "you'll get an email...maybe 2 bands will go through" we havent heard anything yet sooo...fuck knows, all i know is that one of the bands playing were pure emo bollocks and i dont think bloodstock wants them lol.

Ascension are playing the same heat as element :O

its good theres like a good few aberdeen bands involved in this and not just a massive glasgow mash up, that would be unfair. sounds well legit tho, no stupid crowd hand votes, or texting in.
