  1. Not for myself.

My wife. She has an Honours degree in Nursing and 10 years experience working at Dubai Airport as an admin assistant (with excellent references)

However, she can't even get a job as an office junior here.

She's tried loads of Receptionist, office, HR jobs but no luck.

Has she tried the NHS Grampian website? It sounds pretty obvious, but I couldn't imagine many GP practices turning down folk with decent experience and there's always a tonne of listings.

  2. I liked Bassment. :( I went to my first two gigs ever in Moshulu as well. Sad times.

However, why would they NOT sound-proof it when it was refurbed into a venue originally?

I hope O2 or something buys Warehouse; it'd be nice to have a medium-sized venue in Aberdeen.

  3. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - A bit bizarre this one, it's a send up of the film-noir genre. Basically a guy is mistaken for an actor and comes to LA but gets mixed up in a murder investigation. Downey Jr is in top form and Val Kilmer seems to have a lot of fun playing his character.

I thought the middle bit (I think it was the middle bit?) in this seemed like forever. It's a good film, but I think a lot of it was filler. If the titles weren't so cool and I didn't like Downey Jr so much I think I'd have liked this film less.

I went to see A Bout De Souffle sometime last week and it was awesome. A bit confusing (or I thought?) at the start, but very good once you get into it.

Going to crack on through my Hitchcock boxset sometime this week, along with seeing Heartbreaker at some point too. Should be fun times.

  4. Micah P. Hinson ~ ...and the Pioneer Saboteurs

Is this a good 'een? I've liked everything else, but I'm scared he'll go downhill or something.

I bought Broken Bells - s/t as it was in the sale in One Up, and the new Holy Fuck album as it came with a free EP.

    Bargains.com.

Haven't bought any new CDs in an age, had to stop myself spending everything I've earned. :(

  5. AECC seem to be looking for casual catering staff and such like. Just put your name and e-mail address into the wee box on their website and they should e-mail you with the number to call for the next recruitment thing.

There also seems to be a lot of new people starting as Domestics at the hospital, so you could always phone ARI and see if they're still looking?

  6. My workmate has a good story. He met one in a car park and started talking about their cars (imprezzas) my mate told the guy that his car was rubbish, and just a tarted up standard car etc and challenged him to a race. the guy said he had a better idea and said I'll challenge you to a fight, my mate did not know who he was so said ok and got out his car. He guy got out his car with a baseball bat. Result...mate in ARI.

How would that be a good idea whoever it was? What was your mate thinking? Seriously.

  7. I'm still going with In Cold Blood, it's been 10 months, I plan to finish it very soon.

I also plan to finish Ali Smith - Girl Meets Boy and Slaughterhouse 5 before the end of August/when I start uni.

  8. probably this, off the top of my head

i'd seriously recommend not reading that though. there's details in that article that i've been unable to erase from my memory since i read it. it's amazing how quickly "post interesting wikipedia articles"-threads end up with people seemingly competing to post the most horrifying pages.

let's not let that happen. let's all teach each other nice things in this thread.

Morbid curiousity got the best of me. That was horrible. :(

The Moors murders is a pretty harrowing read too. Definitely top 5. :(

Today I learnt that I have a top 3 (at least) of most harrowing Wikipedia articles.

I also realized that when I'm older and have money I want to go to an Art School degree show and actually buy something.
