I can understand the need for rotation as we're still in the race for the League, Europa League and the FA Cup, but today's team highlighted the issues we have.

The players simply aren't used to plan B. and Jo.. well, once he's in the team we have no wide left player. Marry that with Zabaleta at left back, and we've lost a flank altogether. As good a player and hard working as Zaba is, that leaves us with no width on the left, and no service to Dzeko (apart from the goal, what a first touch and then cross from Micah).

And Danny Cadamarteri has been released. jon/Alkaline - what happened there? I know he's not really been playing, but I thought he had a fairly decent first season with United?

The Arabs will be better placed to say, but he scored 4 goals in his first 7(?) games, but hasn't scored since.

I was at one of his first games for Hibs and he was a cut above. So good that even though he only played an hour, the press voted him MOTM. No questioning it, other than "how do you spell that?"

Strikes me as the kind of player who is either running everything or doing nothing, though.

Blackpool are great to watch but you notice that they have very little structure. It seems like they are constantly hanging on for dear life. A player like Adam, who has an eye for a pass, is technically very good but lacks much discipline and positional sense can thrive in a team like Blackpool where he can roam where he wants and go hell for leather no matter who the opposition are. Put him into a Liverpool side where the positions and roles are well defined and he'll quickly look average.

Just for the purposes of debate, I recently read this article about the structure of Blackpool's team. Note the comments on Adam's role and how it's changing..
