If Michael Cera commits suicide on Christmas Day, you'd get 12 points for his age (27), +3 Unnatural Causes bonus, +5 Party Pooper bonus (20 points) + 3 Unique Pick (23 points), doubled for Joker bonus = 46 points. In short, you'd still lose.

I shall save my hopes for a MCCS for next year then. Fuck you,  @Bigsby.

  2. Yeah that's more what I mean. Fair enough if they're used for anxiety disorders, I didn't know that, but I'm talking more about adults who buy them because "OMG they're so much fun!!!!!!"

I'm torn on the subject. As an anxiety coping mechanism I think they're an amazing idea. Even as an entry-level, I-think-I-kinda-wanna-try-some-art-based-stuff gateway drug type thing I think they're a pretty cool tool to get people to pick up a set of pencils.. but they're also drastically faddy just now and I fucking hate fads. Fads are for fuds.

  3. Were none of you guys ever taught that if you can't say anything nice about someone, say f*** all? Have any of you ever been on worldwide tours, or played huge venues? No, I thought not. Sandi may not be to everyone's taste but at least she has had a career and had her 15 minutes in the spotlight. Sour grapes maybe? Have you been further than the Moorings in your chosen career? The lassie is pregnant and if any of you have experienced a wife or partner who is carrying your child, they CAN get a bit emotional and hormonal, gie the lass a break.

I've never met Sandi but I do know her stepmum Sandra very well and a nicer, more down-to-earth woman you couldn't wish to meet. I don't know the history of her dad's accident, so can't comment on his financial state, but they do live in a nice house that hadn't cost a massive amount when they bought it. Over the years Sandra has given me various cds that Sandi has produced and her own spin on classics such as The House of The Rising Sun and Frankie Miller's Caledonia are pretty damn good and that's from someone who has played in bands since the early 60s and I'm nae easily impressed, believe me. Definitely nae impressed by the character assassination going on here, I can't believe the Aberdeen music scene has turned into such a nasty, back-stabbing bunch of ingrates.

How exactly is anyone stabbing her in the back? It's hardly as though she's out there championing the cause of small-venue, local level music scenes? Ingrates? What the fuck do we have to be grateful to her for?! DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT WORDS MEAN?!

  4. Buying a Raspberry Pi doohicky for about 20 quid, fannying about on the computer with it for a couple of hours then plugging it into my TV and having EVERY SINGLE SNES AND MEGA DRIVE GAME ever made is ace-ic.

    Can't recommend this thing enough

    Fucking great, right?!

I have the same setup but since I use a PC for gaming in my living room I just set up emulators on there. Been playing the shit out of old Monkey Island games just now. So much awesome!

  5. Worse.

"Happy birthday Gran, you would have been 74 today, I know you're up there driving all the angels crazy singing Cher and drinking Taboo".

Oh those fuckers are the WORST. I can deal with "This would have been my Gran's birthday and she was a swell old bird and not nearly as racist as you'd expect a 74y/o to be so this is a bittersweet time for me..." statuses, because at least they're actually directed at their audience. These fucking facebook statuses aimed into the fucking aether like some kind of trans-mortal soliloquy can eat a bag of infected dicks. Take your public private introspection and poke it up your fucking pisshole - sharing it doesn't make you look spiritual and deep, it makes you look like an arsehole.

  6. Bo Burnham writes decent funny songs.

I fucking love Bo, I think he falls into the same category as Bailey and Minchin, where he has really interesting stuff to say (though a lot of his stuff is just silly too) but he also writes really great lyrics and is a really solid musician too.

  7. Oh great, it's shouty, I hate everything guy  :swearing:

Ach, whatever tools get the job done.  I wouldn't judge.  Synth bass can sod off, but only because it puts me out of a job :)

Haha, yeah that guy is a bit of a dick, but I kinda like him. He makes good points a lot of the time and his tutorials on recording methods are actually pretty helpful, especially for a total n00b like me. And in this case, I think he's especially angry because home recordings like what SvJ was talking about are putting HIM out of a job!

EDIT: Though, I'm also a shouty, I hate everything guy - so it's pretty obvious that I'd like him, I guess!

  8. What scares me off, and I didn't think to put this in my questionnaire, is that I have no idea how long it takes to see results. I do shouty shitty punxxx vocals so I'm not interested in sounding particularly wonderful, but I've always wanted to get a few lessons to get a little more accurate in my pitch, get some better breathing technique so that when I'm shouting and belting it's not so hard on my breathing, but I don't know if I'd need 5 lessons or 50. Plus I'm a lazy bastard who always puts things off.
