Tripcast Radio
I have organised a John Peel tribute podcast with several podcasters
around the UK contributing a short show with 2 songs of their choice
of new and upcomming bands, and it will be released on the 13th.
If any bands would like to record their own little 10-15 second
tribute to be included in it, then please get in contact. I can't
guarentee all will get in, as I want to try keep the whole podcast
around 1 hour, but I might have to go slightly over than depending on
the other podcaster's contributions.
Please just record them as MP3 and send them along.
Regards

John Peel Day 13 Oct
The very first John Peel Day will take place on Thursday October 13th. The
day will be a celebration of John's life and massive contribution to music
and broadcasting with as many venues as possible staging gigs across the UK
under the banner of Peel Day.
Prior to this there will be a very special London gig organised by Radio 1
with details to be confirmed nearer the time.
How you can be involved!
We're encouraging as many people as possible to organise their own gig as a
tribute to John. This can be anything from a couple of unsigned bands down
the local pub to hiring an entire venue and booking some Happy Hardcore DJs!
It's entirely up to you.
If you are producing posters or fliers to promote the event you can download
a logo to use on them. We'd also like to hear about what you are organising.

Yup' date=' that's exactly what I meant by the comment.[/quote']
well, xx

this one was so good I sent it round to all the band and friends....then thought
crap.....I have to make sure to never, never pass out around them now!!!
Why would you want to bring them round? Here are some better ideas:
1) Peel a banana and slide it down into their underpants. When they wake up they'll think they've shat themselves.
2) Ditto but use a Cadbury's Flake.
3) Get 2 broom handles and slide 1 down their left sleeve and into their right toruser leg' date=' and the other down their right sleeve and into their left trouser leg.
4) Get and condom and fill it full of cream then carefully insert into their anus.
5) This is my favourite. I saw this done once by a group of guys in the bar. It's the grossest thing ever though. They propped him up in a chair, then asked me for a shot of coconut cream, and splattered it round his mouth. Next (and I had to avert my eyes because this was so obscene), 3 of them took out their ****s and held them up to his mouth, whilst the fouth one took close up photos... which I'm guessing wound up on the Internet. Yuck!
Hope this helps.[/quote']

wtf i only just read this
anywhoo statue of misery r actually pretty good
but wtf again when have we ever stated that we're great????
and wtf cloud you were the one who was telling people on a post a couple of months ago to see us this year as you put it "go see identity for a new band to the "scene" their pretty intense"
Cloud what's the matter? I'm totally shocked at that! 8o
I mean I consider ya one of our allies and after reading this today, not sure where ya were coming from with that comment.
I can say one thing, this board is unique on one factor......tearing down people who are into music, be their own, or other's....its like a disease to some that they can't cure to trash and pull down people cause they are simply keen on their band or another's band.
Its not a manifestation of big egos, or anything of the like.
Main problem with the internet I've found over the many years I've used it, is the lack of face to face communication and the bravado some gain from this, creates situations of misunderstanding of others.
Again, with SOM like what happened to Identity when they came here to announce gigs, etc.....the presumptions of these guys abounded and are way off base to who they are in the flesh.
Some should take up this motto:
If you've nothing constructive to say, don't say anything at all

This thread is only dominated by the hypocrisy a these losers on the defence.
that's a alot of crap falling outta yer mouth from someone who turned out to be such a hypocrite or do I need to spell out what I'm refering to???
-
thats the point though. how can people decide if they like a bands music by what they say in a forum?
its just a forum' date=' it doesnt matter, it doesnt mean anything. it has nothing to do with our music. nothing i or you say here will change our music. or convince people to like us. either they do or dont.[/quote']
ditto that too, and it shows that cause you know its just a forum, that you've got A life 8)

7 words fuck you fuck you fuck you' date=' fuck[/quote']

Yes we have improved more snce then
Kewl, can't wait to hear it xx
-
All that has happened recently is' date=' We have improved the sound again. We have done this with the new tonally flat monitors, fully acoustically deadened stage and some special adjustments .
We have just completed the new backline update, which now includes:
Marshall DSL 100 & 4x12
ENGL Powerball & 4x12
Ampeg SVT2 Pro with 4x10
all is ready for any band to use if they so wish.
If anyone wants to try the amps etc come down on a Sunday and have a jam.
Mark[/quote']
damn improved it "again", better than when we were last there?
Nice one!!
best xx
-
I think you just kinda agreed with him there' date=' tbh...
You get venues which have a bar. The Moorings is a bar which has a venue.
This is not a bad thing.[/quote']
being pedantic, but Jamsey called it a pub, it can be called alot of things as its pretty much a multi task premises, but a pub....na not close. There's a pub round the corner from my house, and its a pub, plain and simple...nada else
xx

You Have A Kid???
yea remember I came up and asked ya if your name was Johnny as a friend thought she recognised you from some Aberdeen Youth Theatre work?
The gal next to me was my daughter.
But, compliment accepted....flattery gets ya places, smart xx
-
Maybe they should know better and you should tell them to fuck off? (ouch' date='harsh)
Element have played many gigs at the Moorings and not once have we had a problem with the sound. Everything comes through the monitors clearly. Its a good venue, the end...[/quote']
Ditto that, its a great venue.....yes venue. Best sound system so far in Aberdeen and the regulars are a great lot (as are the staff).
Never had a problem when the band played there and the sound came through loud and clear (proof with our recorded session).
Don't know what gremlins appeared, but it was a one off thats for sure if it happened at all.
xx

chears men . i have seen you guys a few times now' date=' not my kinda music but i like you guys more every time i see yous, got a good stage presesns (aye kant speal for shizzl) [/quote']
fair do mate, since we're growing on ya personality wise, the music just might slip in and get cha'
By the way, my daughter now is a SOM fan big time. Has it as her msn pic and her personal message. Corrupting the youth of Aberdeen and afar? YOU BET you are!!!
With a lil help from your new friends...........

will add more soon. i had to rush out just after those ones had uploaded.

thank nice one
-
will identity be gracing our shores again anytime soon?
One can hope
-
Thanks but there are only so many bands in Aberdeen that pull a crowd and in our lengthy experience this rarely works.
Jim
well just an idea. xx
Works for me when I know at least two bands. Many times the other bands on a bill, I haven't heard about at all, but after seeing them, they've earned at least one fan (maybe others from our fans too).
-
yeah' date=' i saw the pictures. i'll be postong up some on our site soon. i need to get the filesize down a little first though.[/quote']
Great news. thanks again
