  7. Anyone looking forward to the new Deerhunter record? I for one am. Microcastle was pretty good and if Pitchfork is anything to go by (most of you probably disagree with this) then it's going to be gooooooooood. http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/14681-halcyon-digest/
  8. Couple of new features. Firstly the radar blog at the Scotsman have done a really nice preview of the launch night: Gig watch: Glad Cafe fundraiser launch show Secondly, Vic Galloway played the Yahweh tune from the record on Radio Scotland last night and gave some chat about the record. If you skip to one hour and 13 minutes you can hear it here: BBC iPlayer - Vic Galloway: 27/09/2010
  9. Next one, not much of an Aberdeen link apart from a SOR member being fae Peterhead...
  10. Not a whole lot of posting going on in the music discussion these days. UGS has died, Jockrock is as good as dead, Edinburgh-Music never really got going. The board on DiS still seems to be fairly active though. It's kind of a shame, forums can herald a lot of good things. Would be interested to know other peoples views on this...
  11. Weather Barn were good in Glasgow on Saturday.
  12. If you have a copy of todays Scotsman we have a wee feature on page 33 in the arts section. Alternatively you can read it online: Under the radar - Scotsman.com Living
  13. Football was shit today. Some assist from Mackie for the 2nd goal though.
  14. Mark King always comes across as a total prick. Remember the proposed boxing match with Quinten Hann?
  15. Feature in the Favourite Son blog can be read here: The Glad Cafe Favourite Son Glasgow Podcart recommended event feature: Glasgow PodcArt - Music news, reviews, podcast, live events, culture and art in Scotland - The Glad Caf Fundraiser!

  18. The guy at Sky who decided to take Sky Sports News off freeview. It's doing my head in.
  19. Stephen Lee needs a proper doing. Also the Robbie Williams suggestion is a good one after i saw his reaction the At The Drive In performance on Jools Holland.
  20. Not technically stalking but i happened to meet Flying Sinatra on Sunday night. This was down to the fact he was wearing a Teddy Scott Testimonial cap from the Aberdeen v Man U game...in Glasgow. Points.
  21. JJ Bull at the Bar Bloc open mic in Glasgow tonight.
  22. Well it's been two and a half years but here we go. A new 45 A-Side release titled 'The Glad Cafe Album' (cat no. FFAR002). The record is a compilation again with 13 bands from around the Central Scotland area, mostly Glasgow. 200 copies, hand-made digipaks, hand numbered in a nice shrink wrap. They look stunning, started making them up yesterday. The album is a fundraiser for 'The Glad Cafe' which, when open in 2011, will be a new cafe/200 capacity arts centre in the south part of Glasgow, Pollokshields to be precise. All profits from the record will be going towards them. Bands on the album are as follows: Barn Owl Song of Return (ex-Union of Knives) Olympic Swimmers Conquering Animal Sound Field Mouse Dam Mantle The Japanese War Effort Fox Gut Daata Yahweh Debutant Admiral Fallow The Seventeenth Century The Moth And The Mirror I know this record is fairly Glasgow based but i thought some people on here might be interested in it. The record is currently available on pre-order for 6 pounds from our 45 A-Side Records BANDCAMP page. Pre-orders will be shipped out the week before the release date which is Monday October the 4th. In accordance to the album there will be a launch night on the 30th of September at Stereo in Glasgow: You can follow the project on 45 A-Side Records | Facebook where you can see the artwork and get updates ect. If folk from here are interested i'll get some copies into One Up.
  23. Willy Mason. Second album is fucking amazing.
