Tony Vegas, Prime Cuts and Plus One are the Scratch Perverts - a name that has become synonymous with Hip Hop and battle DJing ever since their formation in 1996, Having won all there is to offer in the competition circuit, the Perverts are ready to enter the next stage of their development as recording artists. The Perverts have always unselfconsciously embraced and incorporated anything that feels right musically, which is evident when you consider that they count the likes of The Neptunes, Dillinja, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Aphex Twin, amongst their inspirations and influences. As Tony Vegas sums up; "We're just trying to true to ourselves, we want people to be left in no doubt whatsoever as to what a Scratch Perverts record is, you can guarantee that we'll be bringing the same amount of honesty, energy, desire that we have to our DJing."

The Sect are Blade and Virtua. Initially meeting through mutual friends in the late 1990s, they have been producing Drum & Bass together ever since. Growing up hooked to the bleeps and breaks of The Prodigy and Londons pirate radio stations, they followed the development of Jungle to Drum & Bass, eventually finding themselves drawn to the futuristic output of labels such as Underfire and Renegade Hardware. Virtua has showcased his formidable skills at the famed DMC championships and Blade has been DJing for over 15 years.

  9. freak...when I saw yoda in kef (not the last time but the time before that) the entire club was full of people saying that he wasn't there either! is this some kind of shit joke that surrounds every one of his gigs? i didn't go cos i had to run a race on sun

Obviously a lot of people, including yourself, do not know what he looks like then. I also doubt the 'entire club' were saying that. He played on the stage right in front of the crowd literally 2 metres away!. He was using his video set up and the visuals were up on the screen displaying his name on numerous occasions. Do you need photos as proof?

Yoda has never missed a gig in Aberdeen as far as I can remember.

  10. The Finale

This will be the final curtain. We would like to thank everyone who has worked, helped and attended and hope you can make it to the final night of this historic venue. It has been greatly appreciated.

  12. Everything Full of Acid

    Saturday 23rd May

    @ Origin, Market Street

    11pm - 3am, 5/4 students + before midnight

w/ resident DJ's from Everything Else Sucks, Full Spektrum and Acid Thunder.

Witness three of Aberdeen most exciting club nights all under one roof! Everything Else Sucks, Full Spektrum and Acid Thunder are collaborating to give you'll a last chance to catch their residents doing what they do best.

This will be the penultimate chance to catch them playing at Origin as the club closes its doors for the last time on Sat 6th June.

Everything Else Sucks has been at the club for only 3 months but in this time they have rocked the shit out of playing the filthiest and dirtiest electro/house known. They have invited guests every month who have killed it, including Hostage, A'LA Fu, Jack Beats and most recently Foamo! Make sure you come down to this one to check out residents Djamba(Subcity) and Krazzy Martin(Electric Institute)!

Like Everything Else Sucks, Full Spektrum started their night in the Tunnels but after only a few month Tez hooked them up with a monthly slot at Origin. It didn't take Scott and Dom long to gain a regular 'up for it' crowd and also respect from the drum n bass and dubstep followers. They have invited guests from across the board and also got themselves a slot on local SHMU FM. Make sure you check the boys out, Scott and Dom, Brap brap!!!

Acid fucking Thunder! Bones & Money aka Shaun and Calum are the coolest cats in town with their mix of disco, electro, hip hop, bmore and whatever else gets will get the ladies dancing. For funky jumpers, cool hair cuts, panini's and denim jackets you'll need to get down with Bones & Money!!!

Fancy dress is a go go! So dig out your funkiest 80's shirt, your best clown shoes, your neon pant.... cos we're gonna party!!!!
