  9. i've got it i cud put 6 different types of strings on it and have it tuned all to either the same note or octaves
  10. hmm im thinking maybe sumthing a like grafting the neck of another instrument to it- along those sort of lines.
  11. I'm a bassist but i'm thinking someday when i have the money i'm gonna buy a fender strat just do to something to it to make it sound unusual, but i cant think what.
  12. reason U dont have to start on A- a scale can b played in any key
  13. right now Literally right now I'm listening to Miles Davis live at Filmore East (March 7, 1970) It is unbelievably intense and electric.

  22. Possibly as back up I wouldn't be able to join ur band cos im living in edinburgh right now but i can probably fill in on the odd gig if ur keyboardist is involved in a freak accident and i'm available. I do come back to Aberdeen some weekends. bitchesbrewonwards@hotmail.com
  23. Hey Hey Rory, it's Lewis. I wouldn't b able to b a regular member of ur band but i cud turn up to gigs evrytime im in aberdeen and probably pick up things wothout rehearsing. I cud play any of sevral instruments: -fretless bass if u need it, even if u have a bassist i can function in the higher ranges of the bass. -Almost Picolo Bass- i'm planning on fitting extra light picolo strings on my fretted bass and tuning it up a whole octave and then using an octave pedal sometimes. Its good for bass chords and altered tunings. I know u'll appreciate how experimental this is. -Tabla. I'd would b the only authentic accompaniment to ur sitar when ur doing the indian classical stuff. -Either my keys or ur micro-korg. U can speak to me about it in the moorings this sunday. Cheers.
  24. hmmm I suppose so but theres no point cos the intervals are the same no matter what note u start on. If it was in a key u wudnt b able to tell from the scale alone. But in a practical situation some1 cud say 'chromatic scale in B' and that wud probably mean that the root was B. It definitely can't have a tonality, i know that.
