  1. This place is powered by vBulletin 3. It is most definitely not free, and has a yearly license fee. Another good commercial solution is invision power boards.

However since it sounds like you want a free option, the best free option is phpBB2.

Although to run any of these you will need a web host which supports PHP and mySQL. If you don't know what these are, then you probably don't have them. (There are free hosts out there that support PHP and mySQL, but they aren't very good).

So if you don't have a host, and you don't want to pay for one, you can use proboards or bravenet or some such, but these are really nothing in comparison to vBulletin/invision/phpBB

Commercial PHP (best option, but costs money. Also need good host.)

    vBulletin - http://www.vbulletin.com

    Invision Power Board - http://www.invisionboard.com

Free PHP (a good option. a good host is still needed)

    phpBB2 - http://www.phpbb.com

Free Remote Hosted (horrible option. but completely free)

    ProBoards - http://www.proboards.com

    Bravenet - http://www.bravenet.com

    And a host of others...

  2. you all talk like Kerry was brilliant

at the end of the day' date=' they are all as bad as eachother. you can tell when they lie (when they open their mouth). No matter who it is they are going to be public enemy number 1.

yes, bush is a fud, he is a very stupid man with a silly ego trip, however it is his party that are also to blame. (and daddy), every american government has committed attrocities over the years, take a look at nicouragua, cuba and el salvador, all suffered at the hands of dangerous american parties.

im sure John Kerry has some shocking covert plans of his own, where he diverts the attention to the war all the time im sure his other policies would have a catch somewhere[/quote']

I think the issue at hand is that even though Bush has proven himself to be a war hungry idiot, the American public have voted him back in (and actually voted him in WITH the popular vote).

  3. Do you honestly think the Tories will be any less compliant in their relations with the US? Don't kid yourself' date=' voting LibDem in a Labour held seat only splits the left/liberal vote and allows the Tories to sneak back in. With UKIP in meltdown and the BNP a laughing stock, the Conservative Party are going to be a threat next year.[/quote']

You're kidding yourself if you think of Labour as still being a Left vote.

  4. Well like I said, Fox have called it.

No one else has, but from the way it looks, the Democrats don't look like they can still pull back Ohio. If Alaska goes to Kerry, then there could still be a draw...however the House of Reps would probably vote Bush in, Republicans being in control..

I just don't understand the American public. Voting him in once was a mistake, voting him in a second time is moronic. Obviously they haven't listened to his wise words...

"Fool me once, shame on shame on you. Fool me you can't get fooled again."

  5. While you're right that Bush PROBABLY will take it, Kerry was just re-awarded the single Maine vote that was taken from him earlier tonight. Which means that if Kerry loses Ohio, he can still pull it on Alaska, if he takes all the other Gore seats. Or a draw, which is how the BBC seems to be pushing it.

The BBC has been very good tonight, calling states WELL in advance of CNN, CNBC and Fox 'News'. In the case of Florida, BBC called it over half an hour before the US networks. I think that the US networks are covering their arses after the last Florida vote ;)

And remember, Ohio is (despite claims from the Republican party) STILL VOTING, and could still be voting for hours.

UPDATE: FOX HAS CALLED OHIO FOR BUSH

  6. The NF didn't want to march? Proof please.

And for your information' date=' the licensing committee's decision really could have gone either way. Were you not aware that if the city council had chosen to not permit the march without proper justification, that they would have faced a sizable fine, those who'd objected unable to sit as councilors for five years?[/quote']

I wasn't actually expressing an opinion, I was breaking down what Doc said into steps, as monkey had requested ;)

  7. Ok Doc explain to us all' date=' carefully and step by step, as we are not all blessed with your sizable intelligence, what the Nf planned all along and how we played into their trap.[/quote']

He's already explained that. Step by step. For your less sizeable intelligence.

    1. They didn't want to march, and knew they wouldn't be allowed.

    2. They put in an application

    3. Everyone raises hell

    4. Leader goes on TV, and puts out a message that they will all be in town anyway, without major police presence.

    Very clever of them.

  8. Topstyle Pro is another good choice' date=' but it's for hand-coding (no WYSIWYG). I use it for most things. I tend to only use Dreamweaver for ASP or PHP hand-coding.

It's fast, quite easy to get to grips with, feature packed and costs nothing near the price of Dreamweaver.

There is a free version, but it only really does CSS stylesheets.

Is that what you used for your style on your MT page? I can't get my head round the templates on MT. I managed to get it installed and running...any tips on where to find decent tutorials?
