  1. Surely the whole point is to encourage reusable and recyclable bags, so why would you be charged for bags made from paper and starch?

Despite being a renewable resource, paper bags use a lot more energy to manufacture than plastic, also less energy efficient in transit and are less reusable than plastic. They also release methane when land filled.

  2. I'll have a look at them tomorrow. If I can get a good price on it then I'll get one.

Ok final question of my quick question trilogy. I broke a light switch in my house. I can replace it no problem, I've done it tons of times. But I thought about fitting a dimmer switch, to make it into a sleazy sex den. Can I just buy one and fit it where the previous switch was and does it work with any light fitting? I don't want to blow my house up.

You most likely can. Here is an article with the reasons why you may not be able to.

  3. It's cheaper to make and power sodium bulbs (which glow orange). Nothing to do with picking a colour - just cheapness and less electricity.

Isn't it because it's a darker light so it won't blind you, yet will still light up a street? Especially for driving!

When the correct answer is already provided, why come up with a fucking ridiculous answer?

  4. So that Arsenal rainbow laces advert, did Arteta and Giroud not understand the point of it?

I think because the other chaps are pointing out something "negative" about themselves, they had those two say something positive so to not imply being gay is a negative trait.

  5. Good work.

Now my holidays are out the weigh (lol) I'm keen to crack on with getting buff before Christmas.

Your weight training - did you pull plans off the internet and stuff? I am pretty weak so would need to start on 'easy' mode.

I actually went Beverly Hills and got a trainer, because I knew if I didn't I would never ever keep it up.

If you have the money I would actually recommend this route, even for a short period. They'll build your confidence and really ramp you up when you're ready, which a lot of the time you probably wouldn't think you were.

I wouldn't worry about feeling weak, doing weights is very strange, some things you will naturally be good at, others will be a lot harder. For example you could be pulling huge weight on dead lifts, but doing shoulder presses with tiny weights may kill you, but you'll build the strength up surprisingly quickly.

Here is a guide with some good routines, if you're unfamiliar with any of the terms, google/youtube has good videos to show you how to perform them. I'm not saying stick to this exact plan, but it does cover pretty much all basic weight exercises.

  6. So three months ago I started weight training to shed weight and become a ripped, angry, roided up monster.

Haven't done any cardio training in that time apart from 3 minute rowing blasts to warm up before sessions.

Tonight I decided to try a run to see how my general fitness was coming along. Managed a 5k in 26mins, which is absolutely incredible seeing as I could only jog for 90 seconds three months ago before passing out.

I'll now stick a 5k run in on the weekends to help with fat loss. I'm feeling smug as fuck.

    Cool story etc...

  7. I quite clearly meant he was shit at Utd.

You called him cack without adding the "at united" caveat.

And for the third time I'm not comparing players, I'm comparing situations.

I said that Veron was an outstanding player and you responded by saying "same could be said of Fellaini" ;-)

  8. So you don't think Everton built their team and style of play around Fellaini and he's not been as good at Utd as a result of them not playing the type of football he's comfortable playing? How's that any different to Veron? (Once again, forget the type of player- focus on the situation).

Sure, I didn't deny Everton did that and it worked quite well for them and Fellaini / he looks a lot shitter now no one is lumping balls on to his body.

You called Veron cack, which couldn't really be further from the truth, he just didn't like cloggers smacking him about in the prem, where in champions league he had the time to be the absolute world class operator he was.

I'm not denying he was a failure at United, he just wasn't shite (Like Forlan for example, who takes little stick).

To compare him to Fellaini is totally laughable.

  9. Good for 10% of the season doesn't justify the ridiculously high transfer fee at the time though.

Yeah it was a lot of money, but he clearly wasn't cack. He was an outstanding player if you built a team around him, as he proved at Lazio.

  10. I think also with the higher importance of being good on the ball and moving forward, coupled with minor contact being foul play, decent sweepers/reducers have been made redundant. But a few teams could really use a power house these days.

There does seem to be a lot of inexcusable positional play lately, possibly stemming from left/right backs importance to forward width, making space reduction hard across a back line.
