video piracy is a crime' date=' do not accept it.[/quote']
To be fair It seemed like a real copy (thinking about it this seems pretty unlikely since it's not even out in the cinemas here). I'll probably go and see it on a big screen anyway...and thus I have justified my crime to myself.
-
Basically, it's a film concerning three or four seperate main characters whose storylines all intertwine (but aren't really 'brought together' properly in the film). I saw it a few weeks ago on DVD (is it out in America or something..?) and I spent the first half hour or so amused at just how over-the-top it actually was. After a while though, you realise that's just how it's supposed to be. Anyway won't spoil anything here..thoroughly enjoyed it...gritty as fuck though.

just a few:
Peter Hook
Mani
Joe Lally (Fugazi)
Andy Rouke (never sure to include him as all the Smiths music is attributed to Marr...)
John Paul Jones
Paul Simonon

Fucksake. How come I was in aberdeen for 8 hours yesterday, walked past One-up twice and STILL managed not to know about this?!

uh..i hate lists..but they're so easy to get sucked into...

3. Converge - Jane Doe
4. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
5. Radiohead - Kid A

y= 2x(squared) - 7x +10
dy/dx = 4x - 7
gradient = tan 45' = 1 = dy/dx
4x - 7 = 1
4x = 8
x = 2
x = 2: y = 2(4) - 7(2) + 10 = 4
Ans: (2,4)
..i think. I do maths at uni but I'm spectacularly bad at it... 'pologies if youve already had your exam or whatever.

Ive heard "Autorelocator"' date=' it's pish. Nothing from Acrobatic Tenement deserves to be on a best of. Well maybe "Porfirio Diaz" just for the title.[/quote']
I dunno, Acrobatic Tenement had a few good tunes on it. Raw as fuck, but not all that bad. Seems about time for a ATDI best of, even if it is as akward a track-listing as this. I might get hold of it if i can't find the covers/b-sides elsewhere...

It was just before V2001 I believe. Way before the Remote Part was even recorded.
I was going to mention it anyway. Idlewild were great (nuts to you' date=' Maxi!) and Aereogramme were absolutely stunning. I'd never heard them before but they were a bolt out of the blue. I remember shouting for joey was particularly insane. I also managed to smash my glasses at this gig... Hmmm...
[/quote']
Yeah, i remember it being a long time before the Remote Part. My brother was at that gig when he was 16 or 17, I wish I'd been into the 'wild then. Have managed to catch them a few times since then but I would've loved to have seen them as a four-peice. Favourite gigs:
Jetplanelanding - The Loft, Forres, March 2003 (i think)
Sonic Youth - Barras, Dec 2004
Radiohead - Music Hall, Dec 2003
Rolling Stones - SECC, Dec 2003
Dillinger Escape Plan - Cathouse, Glasgow, sometime in 2003
...on a more local note, I was really impressed with Poltik (playing Dedalus and some other local band) at Bannerman's in Edinburgh last year. By far the best Aberdeen band I've seen.

After seeing 'Hero' last night, I have to agree with whoever on this thread said it was shit. What an absolute pile af arty wank. I actually laughed out loud at several points during the film and just about ripped my eyes out with anger at the oh-so-drawn-out-and-meaningful slow-motion suspense filled moments...fuck off Hero.

REM -Automatic for the People
Daryll Hall and John Oates - Looking Back
the first few Oasis albums
Joni Mitchell - whatever one 'The Circle Game' is on
Annie Lennox
James Taylor
George Michael
Paul Simon - Graceland
Chris Rea
John Martyn
...until the age of 11 or something. Then came shit music until age 16, then not too bad.

Arghh! A link to the helpicopter game!
Well, there goes my day.

Cabin Fever is good just because it's unintentionally funny. The adverts made it look like the scariest movie ever..when i saw it i was like..eh? Other shit:
Ali - had some decent moments, but plodded on forever..jumped around a lot, incoherent.
Battle Royale II - what. the. fuck. How could you fuck up a classic film so badly with a sequal as bad as this? Dragged out, formulaic...
Terminator 3 - no explanation required.
Nutty Professor 2 - Again, shite.
Star Wars Ep.II - Spectacularly wooden acting all round, even from Ewan Mcgregor.
-
love coffee, love jack, but this is probably too good to be true...

21st Century Schizoid Man is incredible...that solo! Other openers:
'Sunday Morning' - Velvet Underground (VU and Nico)
'Kill All Hippies' - Primal Scream (XTRMNTR, 'Movin' on up' from Screamadelica also)
'Schizophrenia' - Sonic Youth (Sister)
'Waiting Room' - Fugazi (13 Songs)
Untitled #1 - Sigur Ros (Untitled Album)
'Five Years' - David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust...)
'Rainy Day Women...' - Bob Dylan (Blonde on Blonde)
'Airbag' - Radiohead (OK Computer, Also 'Everything in it's right place' - Kid A)
'Sure nuff n yes i do' - Captain Beefheart (Safe as Milk)
'Concubine' - Converge (Jane Doe)
...Blah that'll do.
-
How fucking bad was the interviewer on that program? Still, thanks for posting this up.

Interesting...I really want to see these guys live now (are they playing anytime soon..?). What I've heard of their recorded stuff is amazing. I sometimes get the impression that they're more of a collective/side-project though (what with members being in other bands etc), is that accurate?
-
Ghostride = blokes that used to be in Will Haven...? If so, I remember them being a bit shit, but probably wouldn't mind seeing them live.
-
I was well disappointed with BR2. It had such a weak storyline and was packed with cliches. Still, I love the first film a whole lot.
