    I think there are two cruxes of the matter:

    a) headliners not being organised early enough to allow earlier promotion

    b) not enough people really believed (perhaps partially due to the above) that it would happen. I think it was maybe too ambitious as a first year. Maybe starting small and building up would have been a better idea. T-in-The Parks first year had 18,000 I think and now? 80,000? From small acorns etc but all very well in hindsight.

    Then again, when I went to TITP for the first year, they had Bjork, Cypress Hill, Rage Against The Machine, Levellers, Pulp, Manic Street Preachers, Blur, House of Pain and an up and coming band called Oasis (whatever happened to them???).

    But, joking aside, you're right - they maybe aimed a bit high in the first year. A one day festival may have been the way forward.

    There is a fine line between a bit of cheeky arrogance as marketing ploy and taking all your own hype too seriously and before you know it your former arrogance looks hideously misplaced. Brewdog are in danger of ending up the Robbie Williams of the beer world. Just as he has had to tag back onto the coattails of his former band, Brewdog could end up screaming to get a few beers on the CAMRA menu...

    Have to agree, used to think some of the marketing ploys were quite funny but they're in danger of becoming fannies now.

    Have to admit, I've never found a Brewdog beer that I really love yet.

    What ever happened to all the charity Mannequins that sat outside nearly every chemist, papershop ie the Polio boy in calipers, the blind boy with the collie dog and also where did all the bright red sea mines for the lifeboats go ?

    Fuck... this is going to annoy me all day unless I find out.
