  1. Words actually fail me.

Elbow were Elbow & that’s not a bad thing.

Emile Sande – not made much use of the athletic facilities judging by the size of her arse.

The Pet Shop Boys were wheeled out pretty quickly, which was a shame.

One Direction – hopefully that direction is oblivion.

Russell Brand doing The Beatles was a crime against humanity.

Jesse J – singing “it’s not about the money” whilst being wheeled around in a Rolls Royce just about sums her idiocy up.

Taio Cruz and Tinchy Stryder – token black performers.

Kaiser Chiefs – I really, really wanted that moped to crash & for him to be badly maimed. At least they didn’t play a Kaiser Chiefs song, I suppose.

Ed Sheerin playing Pink Floyd? Syd Barret didn’t die for this.

Spice Girls – give us a smile, Vicky love.

Eric Idle – managed to say “shit” in “always look on the bright side of life” which made him more rock n’ roll than anyone.

Fatboy Slim – seriously? Is this 1997?

Beady Eye playing an Oasis song says it all about Beady Eye.

Muse seemed to have been booked for Berlin 1936 Olympics & the Nazis would have been proud.

The Who – The Who. Pass.

Ray Davis – “waterloo sunset” is too good to fail.

Queen – not only have they scraped the bottom of the barrel but they’ve managed to dig a trench below it. The bassist is the best current member of Queen simply because he refuses to dignify this shit with his presence. Jessie J singing FFS.

David Bowie & Kate Bush – too dignified to appear but had their music sullied by being used in their absence.

John Lennon – where was the tribute to Ringo?

  2. . And at T in the Park one year, they made a horrible day much more tolerable.

T In The Park 1998. That was another great gig - on in the pissing rain before Pulp closed the weekend.

The third, and final, time I saw them was at Connect Festival in 2007.

    What a band. Unbelievable.

  3. This is pretty excellent if you've got a spare 45 minutes.

    Most fun ever.

(I apologise in advance for my inevitable video spamming here for the next while...)

At 38m 17s there's a shot of me in the crowd.....

Jungle Brothers & Bentley Rhythm Ace supported. One of the greatest gigs I've ever seen.

  4. Shirley Manson's granny was from - and stayed into Grannyhood- in Portsoy.

I'm guessing she's dead now so it might be worth checking Portsoy second hand shops for any CDs that Shirley may have given her.

RIP Granny Manson (or whatever her name was).

  5. Jesus! Just read on twitter that Petrov who was a worry for Villa after developing a bad fever during the Arsenal game has been diagnosed with Leukemia. That's so sad, he's one of the success stories in the EPL for Old firm players who have really made it down there.

Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov has leukaemia

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17566188

Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia, the West Midlands club have announced.

The condition was diagnosed following tests after the Bulgaria international, 32, developed a fever following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Arsenal .

"We expect to learn more about the situation in due course," Villa said.

"Stiliyan is cherished by many and he will get from Villa every ounce of love and support that we have to help bring this to a positive conclusion."

A club statement added: "During this time we ask that Stiliyan's privacy is placed ahead of all inquiries and trust that we will share information as we receive it."

  6. Shamelessly pinched from R*****sMedia chatsite (which has made me laugh all this week) -

I’m probably breaking a confidence but trying to justify to myself that I’m really just bending the line as far as I can. This has come from the insolvency guru that has explained much to me in recent days. This is what I was told – believe it or dismiss it as you wish.

Hopefully word will filter through to those that need told that there are no secrets, there are no discussions that will forever remain private if Rangers do collapse. The players did not take us to this point but the supporters have a right to know which players may be about to hit the first blow in the last nail.

An agreement had been reached in principle for the 75:50:25 wage cuts.

Then two of our highest paid players, both out injured just now, told the Administrators that their wage cut should only be 50% as they couldn’t earn win bonuses. This despite picking up their full wages to date while on the sick and not being able to kick a ball in achieving those wins. The Administrators were angered that they were backtracking on the agreement and were ready to make them redundant and implement the agreement among the other players.

Then a third, highly paid, player met with the Administrators and demanded that a £1m release clause be inserted in his contract in case “he didn’t like the new owners”. Clearly that was impossible for the Administrators to agree to – they would be writing £2m off an asset, all for the sake of saving about £300k in wages from that player between now and the summer.

A fourth player decided that he could only now afford a 50% cut as he had cars to finance and debts to pay.

It was following these discussions that the Administrators decided that an early sale may be preferable to what was beginning to look like the decimation in the value of the squad if four of our biggest assets were made redundant.

Compare and contrast the attitudes of those four players, three of whom are massive Rangers fans, with two other players. It has been well documented that one highly paid player offered to play for nothing. That is correct. What isn’t well known is that another senior player decided that he’s made enough money from football/Rangers and that he would be prepared to walk away with nothing and probably retire.

If in the next 24 hours there is no sign of a quick sale being possible, and there is no change of heart from these senior players, there will probably be massive redundancies.

If Rangers do not complete their matches this season, the hypocrisy of those players will never be forgotten. Indeed their intransigence may have already engendered the sale to a newco and liquidation of the current company.

I know deep down that I have broken a confidence and lost a source but I had no choice.

  7. Suspected I was missing a joke somewhere! On a more serious note still glad to see a few players with integrity though who a genuinely doing something good for the club.

I'd hazard a guess that they've already something lined up - certainly Blackpool & Southampton are apparently interested in Wylde.

Incidently, he was apparently on £7500 per week.

Apparently reserve keeper Neil Alexander is on £12k-£14k per week. That works about at £96,000 per game that he has played.

  8. Are you actually being serious here? They got no money for leaving the club, leaving the older guys/backroom staff with families/mortgages etc a chance of retaining a job. What is bad about that? The key thing is they got nothing for for doing so. 'walking away' they may be.... but they are actually helping the other staff at the club. Which is better than waiting to be sacked and accepting a settlement for doing so like would happen with a non voluntary redundancy

The Rainjurs don't walking do away.

    They walked away.

Treacherous rats - they deserve shot at dawn.
