>ru raising expectation based on november's rumour
no rumour...playing all 3 cities
they're playing Japan in March then a festival in Spain at the end of May.... those last few days in April are still empty.....
The tour dates on the website end in March though - http://www.sonicyouth.com/calendar/index.html

will there be a-whoopin' and a-hollerin' like there was at Tower Recordings at KYTN?
-
I think' date=' of the ones mentioned so far, LCD Soundsystem is the only one that [i']is Triptych, isn't it?
Put it this way, Mylo and DJ Rupture are up on the Lemon Tree website right now - which doesn't usually happen with Triptych - and I think they might be a bit out date-wise anyway.
Although, just to confuse matters, Caribou is playing Triptyque in Paris.
chilli, is it the full band show?
It's DJ Format, not DJ Rupture that's playing The Lemon Tree.
Neither of the gigs you mentioned are part of Triptych - which will probably run from Wednesday 27th April - Sunday 1st May.
Full line-up is revealed next Tueday................ http://www.triptych05.com

I think I can safely say I won't be going then - no phone calls or emails from the daily record, P&J, Radio 1, The Times, etc, etc.

differs region to region really.the arm swinging one stems from the NY scene' date=' where the running one is more southern cali.explains the differences in the music as well, basically.[/quote']
I first saw the arm swinging at a gig I was at in CBGBs in November - believe me, you had to time your trips to the toilet to perfection if you wanted to avoided an accidental smack in the face.
-
seeing its you' date=' the same night Mel C plays elsewhere............[/quote']
looks like you'll having the pleasure of my company then, if that's the opposition!
-

DJ Format feat Abdominal and D-Sisive: plus Little Barrie

Doors Open: 9pm
Show Starts:
DJ Formats 'Vinyl Overdose' track on the 'Return Of The DJ Volume 2' compilation album released in 1997, introduced him to the world albeit part of a compilation his first solo release bringing him to the world's attention.
After a stint with UK group Suspekt in 1995, Format carried on when the group fizzled out due to geographical reasons (one half of the group in Derby, the other half on the South coast) and through a friend hooked up with Dave Paul @ Bomb Hip Hop Records in the US. After contributing the aforementioned 'Vinyl Overdose' to 'Return Of The DJ 2', the two of them stayed in touch and Dave released Format's debut single, the much-loved 'English Lesson' with a remix of 'Vinyl Overdose' called 'Vinyl Vasectomy' on the flip.. "I just wanted to do a track that used all my fast breaks, because that's what I loved. I didn't have a name for it, it was just a little track I was putting together and I think I just decided to call it 'English Lesson' as a bit of a pun - not because I thought it was worthy to be anything like DJ Shadow's 'Lesson 4' or Double Dee and Steinski's 'Lessons' series... I didn't want to invite myself into that 'exclusive club', if you like. It was just my cheeky little pun! I'm just an English guy and this is my lesson and maybe no-one's gonna acknowledge it - but, as it turned out, most people were pretty kind about it!
2003 and 'Music For The Mature B-Boy' is Format's debut album. A full serving of his funky flair and unique sense of humour (check-out the skits in between tracks) the album proves a substantial collection of tracks and songs. In between the kind of instrumental & cut up gems he's famed for there's a clutch of MC collaborations with rappers from Toronto, Los Angeles and the UK keeping things hot throughout.

Not sure, to tell the truth - most were closing date of today I think. Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit.
-
I think I've entered about 6 competitions for them & still not had any luck.
-
that was december's rumour.................
the truth is out there somewhere!!!!!!!!
So, what's February's rumour?
-
well i heard sonic youth were going to be headlining. but then again i could just be spreading unfounded gossip.
There may be some truth in that gossip.
-

Damn' date=' my attempt at humour has spectacularly backfired.
Cruel fate.[/quote']
Certain things in life should not be joked about - rape, genocide, child abuse, professing a love for the Beautiful South.......
-

And a half.

-
ho ho...how much are you regretting that?
With about a dozen bands announced & another 60 or so to go, I'm sure he'll find something in there to watch.
-
yeah totally
its strange considering they headlined download...
not that i think they shouldve
having only 1 album n all...
but whatyougonnado?
(and besides... i watched NOFX instead.. )
Didn't they headline by default? Wasn't there another band that pulled out - Limp Bizshit wasn't it?
-
whoa where did audioslave come from ?
tis a bit of a strange place to put them on the bill is it not?
i dont know...
maybe.
I would presume that they'd maybe be headlining the NME Stage rather than being 4th or 5th on the Main Stage.
Ian Brown is the King Tuts headliner on the Sunday.
-
His hair's pretty rad though.
I think you typed an "r" instead of a "b" in that second last word......
-
and i just knew that the double-v-neck-metal-guitar-thing was gonna hit it big but everyone talked me out of it' date=' shit![/quote']
