  1. It's Classic Series 60s, rather than Classic Player, more vintage in styling. I have a 50s one, and it is very resonant and good quality, Classic Series are probably the best thing Ensenada puts out. I'm too skint/in need of other stuff though. List price is £500, street £420ish, so in good nick £250 is decent. Good luck.

EDIT, the decal looks wrong for Classic Series, looks more like the current Standard, or a FSR, CS has spaghetti logo.

  2. Have checked already, vibin' on it, if that was the pre-master mix, (which I'm assuming it was given how recently you were doing it) then it is already impressively coherent... I've been listening to lots of Doom/fitever recently, and that was better than loads of it. As I've said to MC already, play Glasgow min.

  3. Overall, you'll probably be a little more expensive for a mini-head/cab setup. Small speakers do tend to let down a lot of valve combos though. On the other hand, 1x12 cabs aren't much smaller than a Hot Rod, space wise.

Your budget is kinda limited if you want a really nice valve practice amp though.

Stretches the budget, but these look kinda cool:

I'm quite fancying that just now, 15" speaker should be nicely deep.

  4. I've been reading through the Song of Ice and Fire series (Game Of Thrones). Just finished A Feast For Crows and I'm pretty fed up with it. It's also just occurred to me that there's still way too much unresolved and the pace would have to pick up considerably for it to be wrapped up in the next book. Checking online confirms that there's still two as yet unwritten books to come.

I think that the author's original plan of having a five year character gap in the middle of the series might have served it better. The younger characters could grow up a bit and the story could take a bigger leap towards a proper resolution.

Just think of that and 'A Dance...' as one big megafucker, that may get annoying at times, but hangs together by the end, there are the usual WTF just happened there moments too. SayNoMore.

This one is about 3 years old

This claim to Soundcloud embedding is false though, if you can't see the wave from the page, it isn't embedded, merely linked to. I'll try a few more iterations...

The specified URL cannot be embedded as media. But 'tis the souncloud URL, in the 'embed' bit, this doesn't seem like my tech failure...
  6. Was on Hols to the Dam, took 'Perdido Street Station' by China Mieville, good read, but the read was inferior to the ideas, which is fair enough in SF I suppose. Now reading Miles Davis' autobiog 'Miles', very compelling, a nice palate cleanser before back to the joys of genre.

  7. As a moderno-futurist type I'd sooner go forward in time than back, as long as it is not forward to apocalypse, but if only going backwards was on offer I'd go to Woodstock, for the festival, and either see the whole thing on brown acid or, if it was only for an hour or so, watch Sly & the Family Stone burn it up, there is no way that would be a waste of an opportunity.

Anyone who wants to go far back should note that the past was infinitely more violent than now*, so don't bother unless you are prepared to mix it, with knives and that.

    *As this dude proves
