  1. christ so ure saying 1000 pound for 3 songs?

If you want it done to a very high standard yes. You can do it quicker but you cant get the same finish, the basics will be there but none of the polish ;)

If it is to send to Record co's then 3 good well recorded tracks will do much better than 10 poorly recorded tracks..Fact!

  2. nice one. so how long would it take to record and mix 3 songs ' date=' in your experience? Also would it be possible to just record then take the files home to mix at home yourself? cheers.[/quote']

To do the tracks well you would need at least 1 day per track for record and mix. you can do it quicker but quality suffers. when working for record co's I spec 3 days per track for the whole album, Some are done quicker some take longer.

You could take the files home to mix, but remember the studio has lots of expensive equipment (1 reverb = 10k) great dest and eq's, and Monitors that are very true (also over 10k for 2) But you do have the choice just to record..

  3. Hi there! Check out our studio at www.oceanrockstudios.co.uk.

    We use Protools' date='

"to get a sound identical to the top London Studios"

    Nathan[/quote']

001 isnt really propper protools, What converters are you using to get the same quality as the London Studios? Hi resolution 24bit stuff??

Is that Yamaha Live desk your main studio desk and preamp, eq section?

    What monitors/Amps do you use?

    Any Neumann TLM103's AKG C12vr's, MD421's 414's KM84's etc?

  4. All that has happened recently is, We have improved the sound again. We have done this with the new tonally flat monitors, fully acoustically deadened stage and some special adjustments ;).

We have just completed the new backline update, which now includes:

    Marshall DSL 100 & 4x12

    ENGL Powerball & 4x12

    Ampeg SVT2 Pro with 4x10

all is ready for any band to use if they so wish.

If anyone wants to try the amps etc come down on a Sunday and have a jam.

  5. Chris (Muse Bassist) uses clean bass from amp 1, Microsynth (square wave setting) and a bit of fuzz. then just mixed together in amp 2. recording it, Take the clean Amp mic ch 1, DI into the FX into Ch 2 the FX can have the bottom rolled off to stop it altering the clean bass, The fx is blended in to the clean until you have the right sound..

  6. This type of mic has been around for a while! I have not heard any that sound good at all. But if they have made them really work then they would be good for the touring bands to just plug&play. Studio's I dont think (other than FX track) they will be better than the usual Kit mic's
