  1. i would've had new order and frankie goes to hollywood in there. Blondie aswell?

New Order I agree with, but Blondie are really a 70's band, I'd say. Pararell Lines came out in '78.

I have to agree that I completely miss the appeal of G'N'R, the choice band of children's TV presenters who want to become "RAWK CHICKS, DOOD!"

  2. Well said.

It wasn't the most endearing interview ever but at least it didn't reek of pretentiousness. *sp?*

I don't see why MMw are getting so much stick. It's been mentioned a million times but I really think it's a personal crusade against the personalities involved' date=' not their music.

    Which is saddening.

Their ain't nothing better than watching Al get his funk on.[/quote']

It's that old British affliction of hating anybody who gets above their station, isn't it? Maybe MMW really are terrible, I don't know. I haven't heard them (if somebody directed me to a sample MP3 I'd be glad to offer an honest opinion). I can't understand how those who really, really hate them just refuse to see them play, I mean, for a scene apparentley dominated by MMw, I've managed to not run into them musically (or socially for that matter).

  3. HA! you didnt see me and therefore didnt see the awesomeness of my new hat...... bwahaha!

    you looked VERY bored though

I wasn't on them that long, so I was okay. I'm lucky that I tend to get to do a bunch of stuff in a day, rather than one odious task for (X) amount of time. Nae bad for the pay, like.

  4. I think it might be possible to actually cut down on binge drinking culture, to be honest. Think about the cardinal sin that drink-driving has become, for example. And I don't blame alcohol for the behaviour of assclowns. That's like blaming Gibson or Fender for Good Charlotte sucking. I know some cities are testing a "finger-print entry" scheme for some pubs and clubs by which trouble makers would be banned from pubs and clubs on that network, which sounds pretty awesome but probably really expensive and other problems I'm too lazy to think about.

  5. i was forced in 5th year to watch the first three by a 'friend' i only made it through the first one' date=' havent seen the rest. Guess im glad i saw the first one as it is quite a good one, but i still oddly have no intention of seeing the rest of them.

LOTR on the other hand is a masterful piece of filmmaking i reccomend to anyone. unless you have a low attention span or an urge for all the glimmer of 'hollywood', then i suggest you stick to the high budget flash in the pan blockbusters.[/quote']

THose are good films, but they're pretty Hollywood, I'd argue.

  6. Well seeing as you pointed out there that the Americans in fact WERE the pseudo-fascist empire' date=' please explain how battling a pseudo-fascist empire isnt pure fantasy?[/quote']

America NEEDED pure fantasy at the time. In it's historical context, Star Wars is quite interesting. Blatantly referencing the old Sci-Fi serials and Westerns when all your contemparies are showing how shitty life is is kinda ballsy, in a way.

  7. And here was me expecting a Thundercats thread.

Being pissed and being caught outside whilst thunder takes place = bad idea' date=' been there got the t-shirt, scared the hell out of me.

    Martin x[/quote']

I thought you knew I never really liked Thundercats?

The toys were too big to play crossover extravaganzas with and I always thought the cartoon was a bit pish. Yeah, yeah blasphemy.
