An accordion player joined them for a couple of tunes as well.
That was me, im a part-time Catfish.
Crooked Still were amazing. All excellent musicians and Greg Liszt on banjo is unbelievable! 4-finger picks and must be playing 10+ notes-a-second! mind boggling.
Great atmosphere, and great night overall with an excellent turnout for a folk gig in the Tunnels.

Vocoustics Promotions & Kabuki Promotions Presents:
'CHRIS T-T on LSD' + MEN DIAMLER + CLAYTON BLIZZARD
Monday 26th October
The Tunnels
6 from 8pm
Acclaimed as the clearest voice of discontent in todays music industry, Chris T-T is one of the most consistent, vividly outspoken and fearless songwriters Britain has produced in the last 10 years.
This show will be slightly different than normal.. heres the LSD story.....
A RADICAL SEMI-IMPROVISED PERFORMANCE OF HIGH ART & LOW SUBSTANCE
Rewind to November 2008
Bored, with his wife away, Chris T-T embarks upon a fascinating experiment: using basic digital home-recording gear, each day he tapes several hours of improvised piano, under the influence of hallucinogens. He then attempts to compose electronic music under the same conditions, using Garageband software on his MacBook.
Fast-forward to April 2009
Chris T-T is working on his next album proper, with songs written, demos supplied to management and label, schedules and plans taking shape.
However, one CDR of demos turns out to contain excerpts from his Acid Piano Experiments. Just as Chris is about to delete the tunes from his hard drive, some of those around him accidentally get the chance to hear excerpts of his original recordings. The music is mad and beautiful!
Despite the circumstances and the wrong implication that we may be in any way condoning the use of illegal hallucinogenic narcotics for any creative or psychedelic purpose, the decision has been taken that we cannot stand idly by, allowing these recordings to vanish un-aired. Yes! We must do no less than unleash a small number of the tunes as an EP (51 minutes long!!), on limited edition vinyl and digital download. We present, Chris T-T On LSD.
We have absolutely no idea what Chris is going to do about a live show!!
Just say no, kids.
Men Diamler cannot be summed up with just one phrase, or just one performance and you will never forget having seen him live. He is an earthly hellraiser and spirit changer. He is a profound lyricist of sweetness and dark. He is an acoustic and experimental musician, but he is first and foremost a revolution in all these things. He brings an invigorating new edge to the singer-songwrtier genre, full of heartbreaking, near-operatic bellows....truly jawdropping!
"Has to be seen!" (BBC Radio Scotland)
"This guy is indescribable really. Amazing talent" (Fence Records)
"Brillaint!" Marc Reily (BBC6 Music)
"One of the greatest live acts in the country" (Stranger Songs)
Clayton Blizzard performs an intensely funny acoustic political hiphop with classical guitar riffs and rapping. Very entertaining, endearing and occasionally uncomfortably on the money.
"Cult figure on a steep ascent. Clayton Blizzard graces any stage with his humorous hip-hop flamenco. A unique and glorious performer, he has you in a headlock throughout. A few artists have you in stitches, fewer have you in tears. Clayton Blizzard masters both" (Remote Goat Magazine)

Saw Uncle Bob supporting the Electric Soft Parade @ the tunnels a couple of years back, the singer has a really good voice, sure they would be good to see in their own show.
Was no real atmosphere for them as support, people talking through the set etc!
Aye i was there, Ricks voice is really really good, ive always liked it ever since I got their first mini-album in about 2005
They have supported ESP, Wonder Stuff (Lemon Tree) and Proclaimers (AECC) since their last headline show here - im thinking that will result in 4 (maybe 5) extra people coming to the gig
-
and 8 adv tickets is an absolute steal for this gig!
nearly half the price of Edinburgh and Glasgow dates.
-
You may recognise the banjo player from this clip in the poster above
-
I missed Panda Su at Homegame. Will prob come down and check her out.

Her recorded tunes are affa decent
-
Panda 8:45 - 9:15

Vocoustics Promotions Presents:
UNKLE BOB + PANDA SU + STANLEY
Sunday 11th October 2009
The Tunnels, Carnegies Brae, Aberdeen, AB10 1BF. Phone (01224) 211121
Doors 8pm
Tickets 5 from TheTicketSellers.co.uk
6 on door
UNKLE BOB
Unkle Bob are folk-indie-rock band from Glasgow via London and have an uncanny knack of sounding like they've been hanging around your record collection your entire life.
They have only sold 10,000 albums; theyve only had 100,000 songs downloaded; their sublime Swans tune has only featured once in the climax to a Greys Anatomy storyline (thus inspiring hundreds of college kids to make their own Swans Youtube videos) but they are still Unkle Bob and they are still one of the most gorgeous, uplifting, lonely and revealing bands around.
They self-released their debut album, Sugar and Spite, back in October 2006 to huge critical acclaim (yes, that old chestnut). Since then they've toured the UK, Europe and the USA with the likes of Travis, The Proclaimers, and James.
Unkle Bob are back now on tour road-testing new material for their long awaited second album due for release early next year.
'Sublime' (Q ****)
'Captivating' (Mojo ****)
'Sugar-coated and sunlit uplands' (Uncut ****)
'Rick Webster is the master of the love-lorn, desperate lyric' (The Times ****)
'Song-writing that is genuinely moving' (Music Week)
'A singer who sounds like Nick Drake whispering secrets into Ray Davies' ear, possessing an enviable stash of country-folk heartbreakers.' (Scotland on Sunday)
'In amongst the manufactured pop drivel, the excitable indier-than-thou new Smiths-elects and the R & B soundalikes you too may have had the good fortune to have stumbled upon something quite special.' (Phil Savage)
PANDA SU - www.myspace.com/thepandasu
Panda Su is a one-woman band hailing from the sunny shores of St Andrews, Fife. A bit of a loner and with no one to turn to founding member Suzanne Isabel Ferreira had no choice but to learn how to play every instrument herself. This makes her debut 'Sticks and Bricks' EP (produced and mixed by King Biscuit Time/ex-Beta Band Steve Mason) a joy to listen to but almost an impossibility to play live.
STANLEY - www.myspace.com/iamstanley
Bands rarely enjoy comparisons, but if you were to take the intelligence of The Divine Comedy, the creativity of Radiohead circa The Bends and the soaring vocal talents of Scott Walker you wouldn't be far away.

hmmm looks like a winner
-
What's with them giving out his address? I'm pretty sure I've seen that with a few things, is that allowed?
I think papers must print an adress as there could be someone else with the same name and therefore their name would be slandered if it isnt qualified with an adress. Some legal thing.... or something like this
