  1. Vocoustics Presents:

    Roddy Hart

    www.roddyhart.com

    Cafe Drummonds, Aberdeen

    Tuesday 29th March

    3 from 8pm

In a relatively short time, Roddy Hart has established himself as an important and influential emerging talent on the Scottish musical scene. At only 24, he has his eyes fixed firmly on re-igniting the merits of classic songwriting.

Following in the wake of great artists like Dylan, Springsteen, Browne, Young and Finn, his guitar, piano and harmonica-driven lyrical reflections impact on all who hear them and have subsequently earned him much respect from fans and critics alike.

He continues to develop as an artist, evident not only in his rapidly expanding following but also in his recent string of high profile gigs with artists such as Kris Kristofferson, John Prine, The Trash Can Sinatras, The Thorns, The Go Betweens, and Kelly Joe Phelps.

"writes songs that ache with emotion - beautiful, acoustic led, melody-rich pieces... sung in a voice filled with power and delicate fragility. He is a seeking, youthful talent, quite clearly burning with creativity" Daily Record

"[like] a young Willie Nelson or Bruce Springsteen. Great songs... that will restore your faith in songwriting" Sunday Mail

"One of Scotland's most promising songwriters" The Daily Express

Support from My Beautiful Ex-Girlfriend, Ellie Mulhern & Amber Wilson

  5. One of the best front men in Scotland without a doubt!

Too true' date=' Ewan is stunning as a performer and as a voice. Saw them in The Loft (Kinloss) 2 weekends ago and they were on fire, the new songs lift the roof. They definatley deserve a break.

and of course dont forget Ewan's Acoustic Gig at drummonds on Wed16th ([url']www.vocoustics.com) :D

  6. I thought Mulhern was familiar... Saw you and Ellie last year' date=' was impressed. Yeah I was dying to get to gig but lack of tickets and unfortunate 'snow-related injury' meant otherwise. You playing much just now?[/quote']

Played in WildBoar lastnight (sun20th) for Tsunami benefit - it went well.

Supporting Ewan MacFarlane from The Grim Northern Social on 16th March in Drummonds. Shetland Folk Festival at end of april. Glasgow in May - check out www.elliemusic.com for up-to-date info

Did you see us in Mooneys? we're back there for a gig in August.

  7. Dont suppose anybody has been to Lemon Tree tonight? I tried to get tickets for K T Tunstall lst week but they sold out....just wondered if it was any good?

Yeah i saw her in HMV at 5 and at the tree at night. I liked her better solo in HMV than at the lemontree with full band. It was the busiest Ive ever seen the tree!! CherryTree song is so good when she does it solo! well worth seeing live!

by the way Trooker Im a Shetlander too.

  8. Grim Northern Social were fantastic on saturday night at The Loft!

First time i've heard them' date=' amazing band. Can't wait to play Keith Chaos on the same bill as them!

    :band:[/quote']

I made it up to the gig - drove up in the snow! 2hrs there 2hrs back but worth it. :D

Yes fantastic - it was the most energetic/schizophrenic performance ive seen by Ewan. He had a wee sore throat, but it didnt show - the whiskey he was necking seemed to help!

and a great venue really liked it!

Photos from the gig will be up on www.vocoustics.com soon...
