  1. hehehehe

Yeah cats are just awesome :bat:

speaking of funny things happening to guitars, my old guitar teacher told me a story that he once found a burger with a bite out of it in one of his acoustic guitars (placed there by his kids). Well... that made me laugh like hell, especially when i imagine his reaction to finding it - such a character he was! Oh Alfie Noakes, i wish i had seen it...

  2. Hendrix is over-rated [/controversy mode]

    Now really... lol :moody:

Mr Hendrix took guitar playing to a totally new level, and was the first to do so. The reason all the other guitarists don't have anything on Hendrix (tho some may be, technically, more proficient), is solely because he brought guitar playing forward on such a massive scale. Nobody has brought guitar further forward as significantly as Hendrix did.

I'm not keen on vai or satriani. Their playing style may be technically stunning, but it's just cold and with no real emotion coming through.

As regards genuises in Aberdeen, you'd really have to define genius a bit more for me, i think. It'd be a lot easier just to name my fav Aberdeen act... Staccato Set!!!!!!! :gringo:

  3. hah, yeah i never thought i'd see such a positive reaction for dire straits. i prefer knopfler's solo stuff, tho my favourite Straits era was the early days. The first two albums were so cool sounding, with that ace JJ Cale touch. Still i'm a big fan of all their eras...

Yeah, I'm going down to see him in Edinburgh next year and looking forward to it.

Also really like the notting hillbillies :bat:

  4. i didn't raise a finger.

what happened was this: we left sizzlers looking forward to eating our burgers and going onto neil's flat for some drunken chat and some more drinks. as we were leaving 2 drunk guys were coming in and one of them asked for my staff(a carved wooden stick with a skull on it' date=' i'm very fond of it) and i politely said no. he then grabbed the staff and ran while i held on to the end. the idiot in question then managed to run head first into a brick wall. as soon as that happened i knew i was gonna get a punch. i tried to tell the guy i hadn't touched him and that he ran into the wall himself but he turned round and started laying into me anyway. all i did in retaliation was protest and ask him to stop hitting me(i really don't like violence). obviously if this had continued i'd have hit back, well i hope i would have eventually but you never know. anyway at some point his mate got involved, and it gets a little confused here, as did my brother. chris definitely tried to stop the guy taking the stick and he definitely gave both the guys a good kick in the stomach each and the second guy definitely punched chris. i'm sure i was hit from behind as well but chris isn't so sure. either way shortly after chris got involved the fellow named jp and a girl appeared and tried to stop it and the two attackers legged it before we could even get a good look at them. then jp and the girl helped us both find our glasses as we couldn't see worth shit.

basically assaulted by two not very bright drunks who tried to steal my staff. the thing is would you pick on death and a ninja? and okay we don't look hard but neither of us are small and as it happens chris does martial arts. i don't think they would've come out of it very well had it continued but i can't say i would've either as i was getting a good hiding at the time. shit happens and my only regret is that i couldn't remember what they looked like cause i would quite happily report such things to the police but i would never have been able to poiint them out.[/quote']

    Bastards!

fear not - they're in for some bad karma...

  5. Just curious to know what everyone's worst album they've bought is...

Mine would have to be Jeff Beck's "Blow by blow" (just a load of totally nonsense to me), Roger Waters "Radio Kaos" (just one of the worst/cheesiest albums ever), and, i hate to admit, the James Bond Theme Collection... Doesn't everyone have a copy of some kind of james bond theme compilation on cd???

    :help: *buries head in hands*

  6. Also a brilliant album is King Crimson's "Cirkus" - the young person's guide to King Crimson Live.

I'd recommend this to any KC fan, it really has the best of every King Crimson period live

1st cd - Thela hun ginjeet, elephant talk, indiscilpline, red... sooooooooooooooooo good

2nd cd - 21st century schizoid man, etc...

2nd cd has poor quality, but its really worth buying the first cd even if just for that. It's awesome!

  7. So any people here who didn't go see HIM but came to see Wishbone Ash instead????

well i thought they were totally awesome, and the support Jerry Jablonski was also totally awesome.

On the down side Wishbone's newer songs have, potentially, the worst lyrics in the world...

    Anyone else there at all?!?!?!
