  1. I enjoyed it, saw it in edinurgh last week. Was nowhere near as good as Shaun but i still did enjoy it. The cast list read like a whos who of british comedy from the last ten years and you were going its him! Her from thingy! Marsh! through most of it. Loved Timothy Dalton and Edward Woodward as well.

I guess i've got the opposite experience to Chris in that I've seen more dodgy zombie flicks than than cop buddy movies, but I did think there was much more going on in Shaun of the dead and the characters were a lot more interesting.

  2. I heard the secret to the holy folks success is four hours of grazing a day. Each has two stomachs and instead of producing milk they produce chords.

i'll pick this poop back up with some holy folks news & photos and stuff:

We are/have been working on a brand spanking new set of songs - most of them are about masterbation, drinking, world peace, why neds are better than punks, braking your left leg....AND YOUR HEART!, kidney related health problems, taking LSD with john lennon, where you keep your socks, IRN BRU, the fall, becoming the next George Best.....oh yeah, and camie.

Also - from next week until we feel like it -we're gonna be recording all our tunes...most of them we'll record at home but we also hope to make noise at Exile with that Mark Geezer with the fancy studio - we really shouldnt waste his time with our rough & pappy playing which is close to unrecordable...but ITS OUR MONEY AND WE CAN DAMN DO WHATEVER WE LIKE WITH IT.

We hope to have a wee 3/4 track cd to give away for free at gigs and stuff.

anyway - unoriginal poser promo band photos...

  3. Isn't that due to roadworks down there? Took my folks half an hour to get through bridge of dee at the weekend as someone had the bright idea to try and fit 4 lanes into 1 with no traffic lights controlling the flow.

Maybe, havent noticed, it wasnt that bad yesterday.

  4. I love how folk in Aberdeen shit themselves everytime a tiny bit of snow falls.

I know! I thought they'd be used to it by now! Fucking hell, ran into tailbacks from garthdee roundabout all the way up past broomhill, Glad i was cutting off at broomhill or i;d have been stuck

  5. I like it !! The only thing I'm thinking is why didn't I get you to build my site? I have had three sites built over the past three years and for each one I'm sure I've been ripped off my the web designer I have in Inverness. This latest one he's doing for Inverurie School of Music is just three pages - and he's quoted 300 plus vat !!!!

Can anyone do it cheaper than that for me?

    Cheers

    maybe try this guy

Dont have a clue what his prices are though.

  6. I'm in the opinion that Exodus only does so well because of the lack of decent competition, it is pretty much the only "indie/alternative" club in Aberdeen and the drinks are cheap enough to get you fairly blottoed without breaking the bank. Exodus has lost its appeal for me, and has done for a while, when I first came here it was good and had a kind of niche appeal, but recently the "indie/alternative" thing has become popular and I find it too busy and in my opinion has lost the atmosphere it had three or four years ago. Just my opinion though, probably to do with getting older and a lot of people do like it. I had a really good night on New Years night cause it wasnt very busy and the crowd was more like what it used to be, havent been in since the refurb so cant really comment on that.

  7. I'm trying to set up a small press anthology featuring a number of different strips as an exposure type thing for different creators. Currently I'm working on my own series and would like to set something up in the loose fashion of 2000 AD which will hopefully come out semi-regularly featuring ongoing serials and one-shots.

There's no money in it but it is a ideal opportunity to get your work seen as I plan on distributing it on a wide scale.

I've already got some experience with zines as I published the artwork laden zine CAKE a couple of years ago and it has been distrubuted across the country to a good reception.

you can read about it here:

would anyone on here be interested? if so reply to this thread or send me a PM and we'll try to sort things out.
