dude you might be an awesome guitarist and almost equally brilliant joke teller but you cant count for shit ;)

  2. nah i think he was talking about stripey, who i really cant be fucked getting involved with, yeah he has an opinion that no-one was going to agree with, woo-hoo go him....

seeing as you ask, i have no fucking idea about covers! we just finished(ish) 2 new songs and we have quite alot of stuff to do over the next couple of months (you'll see) to be honest i dont even think we've talked about the covers thing outside this thread yet, everyone here seems to have come up with pretty different opinions, but im pretty sure that the trooper needs its bed! lets see if i can actually get away with out learning the solo! it seems to be we'll either just do somthing in our genre (as boring as it may seem to you neil ;) ) or im thinking an unmetal song that needs 'atomised' so to speak. We could prolly do with a shortlist i think, as we currently have 4 pages of random ideas!

cheers for the insperation tho dudes!..... still have no feckin idea ;)

  3. hey chris, any thoughts on making the site work on your deranged browser yet? have had a couple other complaints about it since this post and im kinda desperate to rectify the problem. Is there certain code that this Mozilla doesnt like? im guessing if its the pictures that are guffed that maybe a different img code or somthing, im yet to understand this CSS you guys have been on about, any chance of a hand? the last thing i want is to be sending the web addy to record companies across the world just to find they are using a browser that doesnt love it and then we end up looking like tards who cant make websites!!

anyway gimmie a shout if you have any thoughts dude!

    Cheers

  4. dudes, dudes, dudes!

first off im not going to newky scorgie so glasgows all im really bothered about, but surely it would make alot more sense to take the bus the slightly shorter and more feesable distance to glasgow? second, if we were to it would make lots of sence to get it from aberdeen so its just a case of making a couple of stops on the way down the A90 as opposed to some poor porty driver having to go all the way up for us lot then all the way back, then same on the return journey, it just sits nicer logistically i recon! and lastly when i say 5 of atom are coming i mean 5 of atom + girlfriends/girlfriends boyfriends/HMG/mates/cats/dogs, last time we filled a 15 seater no problem, i think i could almost think of twice that in my head at the moment, realistically i think it would be a case of a coach, im just reluctant to go through all the shit me and sandy went through when we went to see korn last year and managed to scaff a lift to l'kirk and spent near 6 hours freezing our balls off waiting for the first (and prolly last) bus out of there.

could be a laugh i recon.

oh and yeah coming with a driver would be a must i recon, coaches dont come without them mind! but yeah even if we did end up with a 15 seater hire thing the law says somthing about 3 years driving experience or being over 25 or summat? dunno the details but u wouldnt be able to drive it anyway mouse dude, sorry!! bring your family on the coach to hell.... could be funny! ;)

  5. i belive a good 5/5ths of atom will be there, was thinking about organising a coach? anyone up for it? there must be enough people going from aberdeen/porty/l'kirk to make up a busfull! dunno about costs but it'd be alot more fun and reliable than everyone getting the train down and being stranded in the slums known as glasgow overnight? any thoughts?

Yeah man i was jumpin around (like you do) coz i thought it was tommy vance (the man, the myth), but then.... no think it was just the random Kerrang voiceover guy, boo!

oh and Joe, TOTP is normally repeated in the wee hours on a saturday, so you can still catch it! yeyyyyyyyy!

Yeah we noticed that too (@the black atom listening party lol, bassists not invited ;) ) think we counted one or two dave solos, but my guess is, either davey has got sloppy in his old age and some of Janick's were actually dave or he's gone all neo-classical on yo ass and some of H's are daves?, i'd be gutted to find that he really didnt get that many solos on the record... maybe he's just having too much fun living in hawaii with his hot hawaiian bride to record solos!

as for the CD? man, im still listening to it, loving alot more now, the first listen was weird but by the end of it i kinda understood what was going on (as this is VERY un-maiden in places, yet they still have their names stamped all over it) and by the second listen it was just erm 'da bomb' so to speak.

I'm still having a big love affair with New Frontier, from the second i heard it i was wanting to jump around the room like a mad bastard, brilliant, just the chorus takes you to THAT place, you know the one! anyway yeah its all awesome, the song thats taken the longest to grow has to be Dance of Death, i can hear its good, but theres just somthing about it, think the intros too long or somthing?! not sure, i'll work it out!! cant belive Wildest dreams sticks out so much, its almost like a bonus track from another session but at the beggining of the CD? still ace tho, unlike alot of people i've liked it from the word go, still sticks out tho......

Bugger i was just gonna say that about the dave solo thing and look what i've done.... rambley rambley bollocks! i'll go and listen some more and try and come back with somthing slightly more constructive!

    :woohoo:

  9. do i get to pick some?!

    oh pleeeease!!!

some of the suggestions so far i've really liked actually.

Although our version of the the trooper wasnt really carbon copy, first we play it about 3 times the speed of maiden and second i've never seen Adrian smith fuck up with solo like i do night in night out ;)

but yeah hallowed and only the good die young were up on my list beside evil that men do, but personally, i'd love to tackle some metallica, obviosly that doesnt mean we will do some but thats my 2 cents, just had some fun when we were pissing about at poll:ution the other night, anyway, just some thoughts!!

    :headbang:

  10. hmmm, why do i have this strangely overwhelming feeling that someone is taking the piss.....

its also quite savage that the forums are going through so much trouble with webspace due to (in part) people filing up the member space making up fake names just to mess about and take the piss out of thier friends. Sorry, i guess that wasnt the reaction you were looking for as you know i'm not adverse to being admired (;)) but really, when your so blantantly taking the piss, is there really any need for wasting more of Neils time & money?

p.s. if your not taking the piss mail me ;).... but its still a waste of time

  11. Hey man!

just thought i'd add slightly more random babble, yeah this is my 3rd time to see maiden too, not much compared to mr Johnston (no e ;) ) but we were both fortunate enough to catch them back in 98 at the Barrowlands with Blaze, was pretty cool, almost like a club gig really, the venue was too small to fit a stage set, or background banner or props, just kinda intimate show really! was cool! also the first time The Clansman was aired live in Scotland, awesome! Yeah im a bit too poor to make it to all these far flung gigs like Earls Court 2000 and that Paris show a few months ago, but yeah should be awesome!

yey! Dance of Death in 8 days!! RAWK!!

No, please have it, TAKE IT! comes with free drunken angie to request it at every gig...

*shudders at the mere thought of ever having to play that damn song again*
