Rancid...look fuckin hardcore.... sound like britney spears...

Lost-fuckin-prophets... (this year anyway, used to be vaugely decent) sound mediocre.... look like a band of derek zoolanders, saw a picture of them in kerrang all posing and i actually felt physically sick. shotguns all round...

Oh and on the Darkness topic, the novelty of them is wearing very thin but i still dont see them as anything short of brilliant...

  2. it was awesome, naturally, but we couldn't of been further from the stage! lucky lil short sighted me took his specs or there'd been a destinct lack of kirk-ness (or metallica-ness)!! they only played Frantic and Dirty Window off the new one and Kirky solod in both of them!! There is a god!! (like i didn't already know that tho!) ;)

    Ya big spaz!

Oh and i do use 2 types of conditioner (just like you told me to.... spaz!) Normal and leave in! i use them every time i have my biannual wash, it's not my fault for not following all you trendy hip kids and your new fangled washing regularly fad, you forget, I'm Old School!!!!

  6. to be completely honest, i cant think of one album i know all the songs off, i generally learn something when i hear like some good technique or just an ace riff or something, like pashendale off the new maiden album, intro's ace and there are some fuckin cool riffs in there too, so i learnt that. I think the closest i come to knowing a whole album is prolly the black album, just coz its one of those generally all round ace albums.

  7. well... y'see ive been wanting to do a video for FUCKIN (emphasis on the FUCKIN) ages! i dont really think we could shift videos/DVDs/whatever by themselves, as an enhanced section on an album tho?

as for the whole lessons/income thing, i wouldnt waste any poor sods time or money on guitar lessons with me, theres prolly a hunderd kids half my age out there with a better grip on the guitar than i do. i could however do an instructional video on how not to take care of your hair.... (oh yeah, mac n len already do lessons ;))

i am a fucker and i didnt know anything either ;)

on a similar note, myself & joe were talking about this the other day too, you guys want a new EP or a full length album?

  9. just wondering if any guitarists out there had tackled any of the new maiden album? i found a couple of files for them for guitar pro and ive been pottering through them for the past few days. So far ive nailed Pashendale, Rainmaker and Montsegur (without the solos that is!) such a great feeling finally being able to play the damn things, its pretty intresting seeing how the sound comes together with the 3 guitars (takes notes for next band practice ;))

Excuse the bored thread, fingers hurt from lack of practice, needed a break...

  10. You join us here at ringside for the first HMGWF matchups....

    Comedy Sidekick Special

George Doors def Itchy and Scratchy by DQ

Itchy & Scratchy DQ for not being comedy sidekicks, George Doors to face Sideshow Bob next week.

    HMG Forum Match

    Sludge def Tav

sludge said it! a no-show in the thread from tav left him with 2 broken legs and a whole lotta shame!

    Skinhead Tag Team Match

Stonecold & Kerry King def Nick Oliveri & Phil Anselmo

even nicks overwhelming ability to get his kit off couldnt save this matchup. After being bored to death by Kerry's Solos (just noticed KK has a girls name...) Phil found himself both on the recieveing end of a Stunner, while his tag team partner was comparing g-strings with KK

    Bass Triple Threat

Rob Trujillo def Cliff Burton VS Jason Newstead

Well this matchup didnt get off to a great start as Cliff was found to of died over 15 years ago. After 2 hours of top gurning action but not a blow landed, the ring lights went out and the intro music of none other than the Metallicops hit... no sooner had St Anger hit, Corp. Ulrich and Lieut. Hetfield sprinted down the runway brandishing 2x4's and took out Newstead with a blow to his almighty chin and a spear (quite litterally) to the mat. Trujillo crawled over looking remarkably like a big ugly reatrded crab and took the pin.

    MAIN EVENT - Big Shredd

    Sandmangu VS Dan"The Terminator"Loaded/Atom/MMW

Well this was the main event, the biggest match of the... well... day. Comissioner Corn has stipulated that this match will be staged over a Three Stages of Hell competition. The Three Match Types being; Hell in a Cell, Bra and Panties and Shred-off....

Hell in a Cell.... Dan came down the runway to find sandy raging around inside the cage like a wild animal, within seconds inside the cage, the 2 were rolling around like puppies in love... or gorillas fighting as the case may be. After having his face smeared across the inside of the cage dan was left a lifeless mess, beating his cheast like a wild beast sandy throws dan over his shoulder, bursts through the steel door and climbs up the cage. at the top in the center of the cage sandy lifts the lifeless axeweilder above his head and lets out a beastly scream before unleashing the hell of his Geordieator on dan putting him through the top of the cage... Sandy 1 Dan 0

Bra and Panties..... now no-one was quite sure what sick thoughts were going through the comish's head when this was drafted, but what he says goes, so we shalnt complain, except for what we might of been about to witness.... *shudder* The match got off to a rather tame start, sandy in the green crop top bearing the mark 'bitch' and pink hot pants countering everything dan (in the orange sleeveless girly top and matching miniskirt) had to throw at him. Then in an impressive counter saw dans stunning top come clean off to leave a cotton padded bra (mmm tastey!), sandys work was half done.... but in a nasty turn of fate sandys top got stuck on one of the turnbuckles and ripped off to show... man boobs! the bell rings and sandy is disqualified for not competeing to the Bra & Panies regulations... Sandy 1 Dan 1

    The Shred-Off....

The final layer of hell was upon us, rules couldnt be simpler, in the ring was a Marshall JCM 2000 with an Explorer and a BC Rich JrV plugged into a Mesa Boogie Dual Rec. the pair had to compete in a crossroads style well.... wank off! The 2 competitors took the ring (dan with a heavily bandaged hand), picked up their axes and the fret masturbation began. It started off, the two trading fairly straight forward pentatonic licks, getting into slightly more complicated open string legato, up to full on shred sweep arpegiated madness. As the event went on and on, hour after hour, slowly the crowd got tired and started to slowly drift out for thier beds. Still the two went at it like mad bastards, blood running down the raw fingers of each, neither stopped, there was nothing but sheer determination on each face. eventuallythe arena was clear, still the two went on, surrounded by woodchip on the floor from the hammered fretboards. Referees, cameramen, announcers, commentators all slept as the dual of the titans battled on.....even this reporter took a nap. In the morning the staff awoke to find nothing but two giant holes where the amps were, in each a small lump of green jelly like substance...... No Contest... finished Dan 1 Sandy 1.

  11. The reaction was ok really, Newcastle we played first under a local band called Hoax then Double Jack, Dunno, it felt like we got a fairly reasonable reception, its always kinda hard to tell how sincere the post gig 'that was a good show man' was, it sometimes gets to the point where it becomes just a formality, but yeah i dont know if we were hoaxes kinda thing, i got the impression they dug us, we didnt sell any cds i dont think, but we've been given details of Newcastles answer to Moshulu, as they put bands on down there, so hopefully we may turn a few more heads the next time. Then Glasgow, well our slot fell through so the overall reaction was drunk for that night. Edinburgh was amazing tho, once again our slot fell through but Double Jack very kindly said we could play the last 15 minutes of thiers, just to make the trip a bit more worthwhile, and what a 15 minutes it was! just time for The Last Day, Empty Sky and Fallen and i really thought the kinda rocky nature of the pub did us a huge favour, admittedly there were alot of friends inthe audience, but for every friend there were atleast 3 unknowns and it seemed to go down incredibly well. we didnt really have enough time to make any lasting bond with the crowd but i'd like think we at least made a big impact....

thats as much as i can remember, the rest was either drunk, hungover or spending 2 hours at a time in the car stopping in various towns and cities, all of which was done with the worst geordie accents you could possibly imagine!

  12. hmmm admittedly it was the pinnacle of appauling music promotion but we have played outside the city, we did newcastle and edinburgh in October with Double Jack, planning on doing it again sometime in the new year, im sure you'll all know about it as and when!

    Ouch.

just out of intrest is that well known tribute band going to be needing the assistance of a not so well known bassist, or is their well known pie eater going to be present... if you catch my drift?
