no, youll be glad to hear its about the all-male, metal practices of: muscles, loving muscles, kissing other muscles, making muscles, admiring muscles, eating muscles, muscle-vision, muscle-visors, muscle-advisors, wrestling with muscles, puking on muscles, bleeding muscles and shitting on muscles. no songs about girls whatsoever because girls dont have muscles and are, therefore, banned. good luck...

The Forecast For Gavfest Is Sun!!!!!
dancey macclogs replied to eat your parents's topic in Music Discussion
rumour has it that theyve dug up buddy holly for gav-fest and ray harryhausen is on board using modern, stop-motion animation techniques to bring the corpse of this once great man back to the full, pouting, zombified return to glory the world has been promised ever since the voodoo lady cursed him. tribute cds will also be sold. -

regarding the kitchen cynics: *the kitchen cynics are on first so they are slightly earlier *children, which make up the majority of the audience, go to bed earlier *'cavernous' mike will be collecting the tears of these children in a 'collection' jar *phils fuel cell recquires the tears of children to power at full efficiency therefore, it makes sense for the cynics to be on first. i hope this helps! -

yesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!! DNTEL are far better than the postal service. fair enough, the postal service is pretty good but its a little too full of fey gibbardisms about stars and floating in a teacups. someone should really edit his lyrics, a lot of the time perfectly decent melodies are ruined by awful, awful words. also, DNTEL dont have the same vocalist as the postal service, DNTEL is one guy (jimmy tamborello i think) with some other people helping him out. '(This is) the dream of evan and chan' is the track on which ben gibbard sings and is possibly one of the greatest pieces of music i have ever heard. it actually pisses on all of the postal service stuff and thats saying something because i really like the postal service album. also, the lyrics are some of the best gibbard has penned. there are other superb guests on the album, such as mia doi todd and brian macmahan (ex-slint, the for carnation). its such an amazing piece of music. sorry to be so anal about this its just i love the DNTEL album more than anything and it always bugs me a bit that the postal service has taken off when i think it pales in comparison to 'life is full of possibilities'. i never post on these boards but i just had to plug that record because its just an unbelievable piece of music. infinately more special than blink182, who sound like the sort of music pea-brained robots on diet programmes might listen to before commiting violent crimes in the future united states of the world (sponsored by coca cola); the audio version of patrick bateman, the vacous dullard fetishising an ikea life while harbouring violent desires to brutally murder women to huey lewis and the news. ps. the only thing DNTEL have beyond that album is an album of early stuff entitled 'early works for me if it works for you', which is all instrumental and its pretty remiscent of aphex twins 'ambient works' but doesnt gel together as well as 'life is full...', an ep which i have yet to check out and theres also a remix cd of the aforementioned gibbard track which is ok although none of the remixes are ever really going to match up to the original song.

***************************************************************** first of all, 'gas'. ***************************************************************** v decided to use the following switches, - an on/off/on double pole toggle (wired for humbucker/off/tap) - an on/on toggle(single pole) (wired for on/off for the single coil pickup) the pickups are to be wired into these toggles first, then their seperate tone/volume controls. i then intend to wire in a last 3 way pickup selector, wired to series/series(out of phase)/parrallel before i go about trying to figure out how to wire this, does anyone know if this is an impossible set up for some reason, or if somepart about it is a bad idea. anyone who wants to give me a circuit diagramof how this would look would be my best friend.love lime.(via dancey mailing services) X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-(

im customising the wiring, which means new pots, 2 for each pickup, its a tele body, im routing cavities, it's not going to be a 3 way switch, its going to be a 2 or 3 way toggle (to switch between different wirings on the humbucker) X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( my question is how do you recomend wiring up the humbucker, as there would apear to be about 8 different ways, what do different ways sound like and which do you recomend?
-
it's a seymour duncan hot rail neck position, it's on a telecaster, but i plan to have the two pickups wired into seperate volume and tone pots, so it wont be in parrallel or series with any other pickups (unless anyone has a better sugestion), i was intresting in the noise canceling feature. i want the pickup to give me a lot of output. i plan to use a 2 or 3 toggle switch with the pickup instead of a push pull pot. i play a range of stuff from mogwai to trail of dead to quieter stuff like yo la tengo, also intrested in getting a jazz like tone, when used in conjunction with my single coil tele pickup in the bridge position im versatile though, to pretty much any wiring with the two pickups, as im customising the wiring fully i originally planned a tone/volume circuit for each pickup, with the output of each combining at the jack brasssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
-
i can't decide what way to wire. has anyone experimented with different wirings? i can't decide to get a 2 or 3 toggle switch either, so im versatile to different wiring. its a 4 wire humbucker pickup gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gasgas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas?

Aberdeen Poster Collective Benefit Gig 13/05/04

'However, on the subject of lacking humour, the last heckle was, and I quote: 'Someone should give your keyboard player a smack'. This is not a funny/clever or even throw-away comment and is not related in any way to the music or the gig. It is also the kind of heckle that is ill-advised in such a small venue if don't want the inevitable confrontation that will arise from it. It suggests to me, coming off stage after a gig slightly wired, that you have a real fucking problem with me and would like to make an issue of it. Which, at that point in time, would have been very easy to arrange. My reaction was uncharacteristic but ugly comments can provoke ugly reactions. Never mind, the situation is over and done with but I think the way you paint it is unrepresentative of what you actually did / said. ' - isnt that just unnecessary intellectualising of 'me have fists?! man slag me?!? me hit man!!!' ? it was just some drunk at the back, who some of you guys seem to know anyway. some (most) bands in this town should spend less time at rock college...sorry, i just dont see the defence for resorting to violence for any heckle however 'ill-advised' it is. -
