  1. stir it up - bob marley sweetest bassline of all time? perhaps so! spoonie X
  2. old samuel you say? why i don't mind if i do! i have great plans for that very beverage for this festive period! bottles shall appear at every occasion, as if by magic! crowds at gigs and parties shall regail its glory! empty sky still has the same kick it did the day i heard a dodgy live recording outside lava on joe's minidisc player a fair while back. probably over a year and half. the magic is still there! spoonie X p.s. whats the new year plan this year? i was considering heading northwards
  3. empty sky - favourite song? just ask mac and joe about last new year! spoonie X
  4. damn right, that is a pretty useful appraisal. all they need to do is ditch the singer, pick up their production skills and sound unlike a bunch of kids desperately trying to live out some rock fantasy, and they'll be cooking on gas. just as well captain stripey is here to oversee the wellbeing of the bands of aberdeen on the international stage! spoonie X
  5. the 69 tracks are there, however they're maybe not the 69 tracks you might expect! (unless you know HMG!) lets just say that not all of the tracks display the musical side of HMG's talents! spoonie X
  6. once these threads go off topic, they turn into a free-for-all. i notice you have no argument left though, so i guess it'll be the end of this one. spoonie X
  7. you the man stripey, you the man! just you discard that constructive criticism! spoonie X
  8. i think the problem was that the boy stripey came onto a post about a record which HMG and released and told them that the work on their website was shit. that's fair enough, it's his own opinion, but the fact of the matter was, this post wasn't about the work on their site, it was about the record which they released. if he doesn't want to buy it, that's entirely up to himself, but why come onto a thread about their record and tell them that the stuff on their website is shit? it just looks like stripey's come on here to look for an argument which is something which happens all too often with his posts. he makes non-comstructive comments interweaved with constructive comments and then when you point this out, he makes out like you've taken the ball and gone home in a huff. the rocording quality of the work on their website is poo rwhich was a point he made, but as has been pointed out, telling someone that their singer is shit is not constructive. what would be cnostructive would be to say: stripey, your posts have been known to contain relevant arguments and valid points, however they are presented in such a way as to make you look arrogant and unnecessarily argumentative, which instantly makes people dislike you and ignore the more useful points you make. by being more careful about the way in which you approach topics and present arguments, perhaps your ideas would be taken on board a little more often. spoonie X
  9. i reckon that yamaha basses are decent on a budget but you can get some decent deals on ebay if you lok around. the only problems there are the risk (which isn't too bad these days) and the fact you never get to play the bass before you buy it. getting stuff second hand is cool and shopw tend to whack a fair bit on the price but at least you get to play it before you spend the hard earned cash on it. saying that, i did by my stingray mail order. i'd just go with Craig and get a feel for what you like. names tend to suggest quality, but they're not the be all and end all. spoonie X
  10. why do you guys not play 'put me out' any more? it's still your masterwork! and don't worry about the vocals on empty sky, cos i can soon step in and cover them :-) spoonie X
