  1. chromophobia - gui boratto

wasn't sure about the first couple of tracks but then the 3rd one came on... pure gold from there on in. gold star.

have murder by death and marnie stern to look into now as well. having trouble finding some of the others but keep them coming!

  2. chromophobia - gui boratto

although if you are listening to ricardo villalobos you may already have this one

Can't say that I've heard of it to be honest! Good suggestions so far... I'm going to let this grow and then try to get everything at once. Needs to be done!

  3. The first song on their myspace didn't float my boat, but I am liking the rest of the stuff. I shall invest in the album, and if it is pish I'll just have to hunt down and kill folk.

Is that Genie? That's a fantastic song. I listened to it constantly in Thailand and now it's forever linked with the place. Fountain Mountain is a bit more structured and equally great. Will be getting this album as soon as I have cash.

  4. Best 3 Bands heard this year for the first time - Lichens, Fuck Buttons, Apse (just recently so that might change).

Best gigs this year - - Envy and Lichens at ATP (beyond perfection), Desalvo at the East Neuk, We Shall Be Blessed at Captain Toms, Errors every time I've seen them, Mogwai and Aidan Moffat in Inverness ("just like Nuremburg..."), Rememberremember at the Tramway.

Best Releases of 2008 - Mood Poisoner by Desalvo, Street Horrrsing by Fuck Buttons, I Can Hear Your Heart by Aidan John Moffat. (Looking forward to getting the new Rememberremember and James Orr Complex albums though!)

Best Result of the Year - Knocking Arsenal out of the Champions League was quite good fun, as was beating Man Utd and Chelsea this season. Long may it continue.

Best Purchase of the year - ATP tickets.

YAS MINs of the year - New baby half-brother, getting to Hampden for the first time, going snowboarding for the first time in 8 years, getting a job that I'm actually quite enjoying (even if it will bankrupt me... why must books be so inviting?!?!), ATP with Al and Grumpy, discovering 'The Bugle' podcast (possibly the funniest thing I've ever heard along with Fighting Talk).

Biggest Dissapointment - Not seeing my friends enough. Other than that, I can't really say that anything's been awful.

Looking forward to 2009 - Because of one of my best friends stag do's and subsequent wedding, snowboarding holiday in January, the World Cup qualifiers at Hampden, getting my overdraft paid off and all round general good times. Life ain't bad.

  5. I've had a PS3 since launch day and my only real regret is buying a new console on launch day! There wasn't a huge amount of Triple A games available but thats going to be the same with any new console. However, people have been developing for it for several years now and the games are getting there. There is a list of titles that can easily rival what is available on the 360.

Online is usually quite good most of the time but it could be a little simpler and user friendly like Xbox Live. As far as movies go, the Bluray drive is excellent and you'll be paying at least 100 to buy one for the Xbox when that comes out. Should wipe out the initial savings in one fell swoop. I've also never had a problem with my PS3 breaking down. *knocks on wood*

As far as games go, the Xbox is probably doing slightly better this generation for the simple reason that it's been out longer. More time = more games. If both machines had come out at the same time, we probably wouldn't even have that as a talking point. PS3 games still look the business though. In my opinion though, for the most part, games are just as good on the PS3 as the Xbox.

Nope, I'm quite happy with the PS3. Both are good games consoles but the PS3 just does that bit extra that I'm after. Hi-def games + movies = win.

  6. i was actually at the recording of 8 out of 10 cats last week but haven't seen the telly version so don't know what was left in or how it was edited. bear in mind that the recording lasted 2 and a half hours. she was infinitely better than that prick kelvin mckenzie, a man who has possibly the most scottish name in the world but spouts the most horrific anti-scot rants at any opportunity.

Don't get me started on that cunt. He's the man responsible for The S*n's, "The Truth," headlines regarding Hillsborough. Most people would have the common decency to apologise when they've been proven to have lied about the cause of the deaths of 96 people, but no... That prick is sticking to his guns. The man makes me sick and I refuse to watch anything with him on it. The guy makes me sick.

I guess thats why. in part, that I feel a bit sad when I see supposedly intelligent decent people reading a newspaper that has less credibility or accurate reporting than a comic book.
