The mighty, mighty, mighty Sick Of It All - possibly the best live act ever - return to Glasgow on 20th of April, with (if rumour is to believed) the awesome Modern Life Is War in support.
Fuck. Yes.
As a new dad, I'm restricted to numbers of gigs I can get to, but this one is deffo booked in!
LETS CELEBRATE THAT WE DON'T GIVE A FUCK!
I was more stuck on the "new dad" thing and that you are in Glasgow.
I'm now in London.... how pish is that!!
one day we'll meet up again.

i feel old reading this. you know you've been away from Aberdeen for a while when you don't recognise 50%+ of the acts.

if you like them check out:

this thread is interesting.
Mr Dave Stewart - THIS coupled with 360 deals should be in a foyer workshop/panel
-
That's probably the Abdominal Showmen. They're not local, Edinburgh based iirc www.myspace.com/theabdominalshowmen, although there is an Aberdeen connection in there.
yes but your best moment was "the seagull song" and "what the fuck is think he's doing with that trumpet"

The album itself is good/pretty good, the appendix is a bit of a waste of time. Apparently the new one is really good, though.
Appendix is the add on to the album.
The President's Dead was an EP followup
The Stage names is the new album.
They tour in Nov / Dec.
Nice n Sleazys is the Glasgow show and it's almost sold out.
They are AMAZING live.

That grinds my gears too!
duuuude... you have NO IDEA!
good avatar.

This sounds absolutely fantastic. I really hope people attend this but I sadly suspect they may not.
My college starts at 11:15 on Friday so I should be able to make it as often as possible.
Great to see someone has finally took it upon themselves to avoid rock club cliches such
as;
Pantera - walk
Rage Against the Machine - killing in the name of
Disturbed - Down with the sickness
Metallica - enter sandman
it's "killing in the name" no "of"
sheesh,,, kids today

meh.. i know nowt about clubs....... does anyone have my golf clubs?

Fopp is shite for cd purchasing but fucking amazing for books and dvds. I'd be sad to see it close down (not that I think it will), though mainly because three friends work there and would be paid off!
As for One Up - I second lepeep's comment. One Up is still a very very crucial part of Aberdeen's music scene, but if the average punter actually knew how it was run and who was running it, along with what their attitudes towards music were, then they'd probably be quite disgusted.
In saying that, it's still the finest independent record shop I have ever been in. Avalanche has fucking nothing on it. One Up has (or can get, if out of stock) pretty much everything Avalanche has, plus much much more. And the second hand department is unrivalled.
nail on head.....
tis amazing the amount of people that have worked in one up over the years.
-
lots of rumours but heard that they had bought music zone and were struggling with cashflow due to taking on too much.
-
Anmd why would that be...
Actually it was Amanda. Was she known to you as Amy or was this a different lassie?
Amanda was before my time i suspect.
