  1. Drummonds, Tuesday 23rd March + Blaze... We'll hopefully see you all there for what promises to be a night of metal madness The current bill is: Black Atom Hot Mangu Freeline Doors are at 8:00 I believe and it'll be a 2 door tax. We're stoked to be playing with the Gu again and I'm sure we'll all dig extra deep to provide a night of metal tomfoolery This will be our last gig before the biggy... BLAZE in Moshulu on April 19th, its going to be huge!!! BLAZE, Black Atom, Double Jack and Radio Lucifer - promises to be another unforgetable night. If any of you haven't heard Blaze yet then I advise you head out right now, go on... and buy either Silicon Messiah or Tenth Dimension. They are both stunning albums and contain many a song that blow anything Blaze did with Maiden out of the water. If you were never sure about Blaze when he was in Maiden then believe me, you won't recognise this band. They are so brutally heavy in places but so melodic and huge at the same time. From quiet, brooding epics to monsterous riffage, this band have it ALL!!! Two awesome lead guitarists and one of the best frontmen you'll ever see live - the man, the myth... Blaze muthafuckin Bayley. Here ends this message that was brought to you by the Aberdeen Branch of the Blaze appreciation society
  2. Happy Birthday oh-Prog-Lord Hope you enjoy the power of two hi-hats (I hope all of you are ready for the wrath of the recent addition to Len's kit-of-doom: the "x-hats" ) Anyway, have a great day!!
  3. Mighty Wind is pretty awesome, not nearly as good as Tap though. Let's not forget "Best in Show" though, hella under-rated in my opinion - it doesn't have Harry Shearer in it but the rest of the cast are all there, including "Jim's Dad" (Eugene Levy ) Its got heaps of hilarious ad-lib moments, just check out the scene when the suicide jump negotiator is trying to convince his son (who is clutching an award winning terrier) to get down from the garage roof - awesome!
  4. Sorry to shoot you down but running in "parallel 3rds" would not achieve the sound you're talking about. That would give a disonant effect as some of the notes would be non-diatonic, as Dan's already pointed out. Maiden do harmonise in 3rds but certainly not parallel, Guns n Roses use them all the time though
  5. Welcome to the world of old age from all the Atom Boys!!! Have a good one mate
  6. The website has been updated. I repeat - The website HAS BEEN updated
  7. Yeah, the first Blaze gig was awesome - this one is going to kick it's arse though. Blaze's second album "Tenth Dimension" is feckin' marvellous, an absolute beast of an album. The new album won't be out by the time they play here but its rumoured to be even beter than "TD" With all this new material since the last gig let's hope he still finds the time for a couple of Wolfsbane numbers.... MANHUNT MANHUNT MANHUNT MANHUNT!!!
  8. Oh yes!! I don't think its particularly supposed to be a huge secret or anything but I'm not going to say just yet... just in case
  9. IS CANCELLED!!!!! Please don't turn up cos we wont be there!!! Cheers for all the interest and sorry for the inconvenience, if we knew why it had been cancelled then we'd let you know - your guess is as good as ours
  10. Bowk It's utterly YUBBISH - you can quote me on that, and Len for that matter. He adds that the second disk is alright though
  11. Scary - was just trying to remember the name of the band that we saw Double Jack play with in Glasgow... it was Fred. How queer!

    hey atom

What a well timed query!! I was just coming on here to say that the Website is back up and running. Within the next 24 hours or so it'll be getting the full Rass treatment and be updated. Sorry about the delay and stuff - we were having a few problems with providers and the like but it's all looking rosy now.
  13. The intro video was class - notice that we didn't catch a glimpse of Charile Dominici though.... I wonder why??
  14. A change to the rules?? Nobody told us!! Onyhoo, Thursday should rock like a bastard
  15. Thats right folks, you may have noticed that we haven't really been gigging recently and the calendar is looking a little bleak for the next wee while too. There IS a reason for this - it wouldn't be long before some of you would start asking questions so here goes : All will be revealed at our gig this Thursday (12/02) I promise that this is real news, not like when we announced that Erskine was a Homo or that Rass has girly hair. That means that there are loads of reasons that you should make it down - none more so than at the moment its looking like one of only two gigs that are planned for the next few months..... and Man of the hour should rock like bastards. So... who wants to have a guess?? Not that we'll tell you even if you're right
  16. Cool, only problem is that the college printers that we can get unlimited access to are b&w If you want to email me a b&w version of the new poster tonight then we could go to town with that jamiemowatt@hotmail.com Cheers!!
  17. Awesome - We've grabbed the tour poster off the website and Erskine is going to go and thoroughly abuse his college printer quota by printing off hunners o' the fuckers I want this gig to be mobbed P.S. Dunk - do MOTH have everything sorted out when it comes to Accomodation etc?? We'd be quite happy to sort out crashing space etc if it would help. Our drummer emailed a while back to see if you guys were all sorted but we haven't heard so if you could let us know then that'd be awesome!! Cheers man
  18. Ooooooops, obviously the "team" that I was refering to was to do with the music rather than the orientation I maybe should have made that clearer though.....
  19. Believe me, we can't wait either. Its going to be absolutely rukkus!!! We had a gig in Edinburgh that was fairly dead and everyone we talked to said it was because MOTH were playing in town the same night, they must be good Its going to be nice to have three bands on the same bill who are all batting for the same team - ATTAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!
  20. February 12th at Drakes with two other kickass metal bands Risactonia and Edinburgh's finest Man of the Hour - should be rukkus!!!! BRING THE NOIZE!!!!!!
  21. Superb, where do you find this shit???? I particularly enjoyed : All of the top 20 - you could just follow the link cos there are heaps but the following were the best of the rest 21. Humming along with the melody to a prog metal song is forbidden. Burn all albums you own with hum-along melodies. 35. Don`t worry about if your band name makes any sense or not. Since 90% of your fanbase is from Brazil and Japan, you can safely ignore conventional English grammar and instead focus on whats really important: The lyrics (see rule 36). 36. Write deep and ambiguous lyrics. 38. Use a non-standard instrument like violin, saxophone or kazoo, regardless of how idiosyncratic it turns out to be. This constitutes being prog. 51. Tool is NOT prog. If anyone insists they are, kill them. 73. Play air-drums or air-guitar at concerts. This will make sure that other prog fans recognize your immense talent. And what a finish : 98. Have side-projects. Make sure that all side-projects consist of pointless jamming over endless repetitions of clicheed riffs. 99. Make sure that at least one of your side-projects feature Mike Portnoy on drums. 100. If you cannot get Mike Portnoy, get someone who sounds like him. 101. You mean you have been reading this when you could have been practicing along to Metropolis Part II or composing a sidelong epic? For shame!!!!
  22. Thats right folks - we have a gig lined up in Drakes and it should be awesome. Supporting Man of the Hour from Edinburgh, cheesy screamy metal by the looks of things, they look like the billy goats baws. Other entertainment comes from your friends and mine : Risactonia - ruv it!! This could possibly be our only gig for quite a while so please please try and make it down and show your support - it'd be great to see a good turnout for such a metal occassion. Lookout for some more BIG news soon from the Atom - we'll keep you posted
