  1. PAWS - myspace.com/pawspawspawspaws

Criminally overlooked on their previous visit to Aberdeen, Paws deal in fuzzy dischordant pop anthems, like what Dinosaur Jr, Teenage Fanclub, Pixies and Hsker D used to do way back around about the time when punk broke.

They've already played with No Age, Wavves, Male Bonding and Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti since they started gigging little over a year ago. They're also doing a session for Ally McCrae's "Introducing Scotland" Radio 1 this Sunday (Jan 16th).

"Paws make no bones about their influences ... they are far from mimics though, taking an obvious love for noisy-as-hell guitar bands of the 80s/90s - alongside countless individual touches and inspirations - and squeezing out their own rambunctious, melodic rock songs.

It's always fun to see folks enjoy themselves on stage, and even better when, in Paws' case (along with so many others in Glasgow these days) the band have actually got the skills to back it up."

    Ryan Drever, The Scotsman

Supporting this marvellous act are two locals:

    MIN DIESEL - myspace.com/mindieseluk

Three guys who write songs with jagged guitars, erratic percussion and perplexing time-signatures. They really like Stapleton, Sebadoh and Idlewild, which becomes obvious upon listening to their E.P. Din Measles, released last summer.

    PRE-TEENS - myspace.com/prettyteengirls

Actually post-teens. Or teens maybe. They make music typified by jangly guitars propelled by unpredictable drumming. They sound a bit like The Strokes at times, they recall Pavement's mellower tunes at others.

Music between the bands will be provided by MYFUCKINGIPOD.
