  1. At work:

    - people who get an absolute raging boner when my check-out's free.

    - those who put their cards on the conveyer belt when I have my hand open for them.

    - parking in the disabled/parents & kids spaces with neither needs.

    - generic "nice day today" conversations. I don't know. There's no windows here, can't see.

    In general:

    - lack of manners. Honestly, how much effort does it take for a 'please', 'thank you' or to hold a door?

    - bandwagn jumper-onners.

    - footless tights & your average Exodus girl.

And I'll agree with Ben on "meh", "meep", "a bit hot", "cute, much" etc etc.

  2. Saw it today and was most impressed! Highly enjoyable throughout and Daniel Craig does an amazing job. The modern feel to it works wonderfully. The torture scene was nasty but the comedy bit was nicely put in

  3. I, too, was thinking about this the other day. I'm particulary impressed by

Desa - Arriving Alive. Just a fantastic rock album.

Sonic Boom Six - A Ruff Guide to Genre-Terrorism. A massive step up from Sounds to Consume. It's got everything, delivered with balls.

The King Blues - Under the Fog. Contemporary, meaningful, joyous. Makes you want to hug teddy bears.

Others deserving a mention are The Fratellis' Costello Music, The Living End's State of Emergency, RX Bandit's ...And the Battle Begun, Get Cape's Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager and Zebrahead's Broadcast to the World.

    A FINE YEAR!

  4. Anyone been to see it then? I went this afternoon and I must say I was pretty disappointed. I mean, I love Zidane as much as the next guy but this was really quite dull and boring, the music didn't compliment it that much, and it just lacked in any spark at all. I'm not entirely sure what Gordon was going for with it, maybe if I "got it" I could've enjoyed it more. Six people left during the film and to make things worse, these four French guys were having conversations at spoeaking volume throughout, with one of their watches bleeping every fucking five minutes.

Anyone who doesn't like football would take nothing from it, and those who do, I presume have been disappointed also. It's not like the game was that spectacular in the first place, and even though that's not the subject, I just found it hard to read deep into it. The little bits of commentary Zidane included was interesting enough, some more of that wouldn't have gone a miss.

So, overall, 3/10. Nice cinematography and, errrr, Zidane's face. Those were the saving Graces.

  5. Like Phil, I usually take my own 75p-ish sandwich and fruit. Tastes better too.

I went to lunch in the Hub today but didn't get a right good look round. Didn't seem to be much selection so I stuck to the trustee chicken baguette. Wasn't busy at all but what with the power cut, I think many had headed home.

  6. Oh no, I was in awe

Thought they were fantastic throughout. Had some mumblers beside me but that was expected by the time Get Cape came on and considering there were so many folk there because he's like NME and cOoL! I was expecting a big fan crowd but only got a glimpse at the end of Chronicles Pt. 1... ANYWAYS, fantastic vocals and the rest was spot on. Call Me Ishmael, An Oak Tree and If I had 1 were highlights.
