  1. Carly's right, you're all so bloody miserable. Stop complaining about everyone being 'random' and realise that you're a complete trend whore yourself, because it's cool to act as though you're better than everyone else, isn't it?

Maybe everyone should just take a deep breath and think before you all start bitching about a cartoon series, it's kinda sad that everyone got so upset about this.

  2. If Aberdeen *really* needs another cinema, they should make it more of a Belmont type cinema rather than another multiplex. VUE and UGC should probably rotate their films more often, but having another cinema showing exactly what the others have isn't really worth it. I suppose a cinema is only as good as the films it's showing and no amount of screens will ensure decent films.

  3. I'm going to be really dense and ask...did Homer *really* get raped by a panda? How the hell did they work that into the story? What else happened?

    *edits*

Also, the episode that's on now (the snow plow one) I've seen on Ch4 at least 3 times since they bought the Simpsons. (that was only about 6 months ago, wasn't?) Gah.

  4. It's still a decent way to spend half an hour, and I'd rather watch The Simpsons than Friends, but it just isn't as good as it used to be, and the older funny episodes are repeated so often that I've really lost interest in it. And it's all about Homer and Bart now too, which annoys me because I think that they are the two least funny characters. All they do is repeat tired old lines or sketches. Seriously, when was the last time anyone laughed at a 'D'oh!' joke?

Gah. Damn your Family Guy*, Futurama and Simpsons, give me Zim!

*although I love Family Guy simply because of Stewie.

  5. Mine is currently '(li)Metarie' - the name of a favourite song of mine by Brendan Benson and i have no idea what it means, but it just appeals to me. I've kinda adopted it. The (li) being a wee storm cloud icon.

Hmm, not so many emo names these days, I think everyone is feeling happier with the nice weather. the most Emo is probably -

(*)[.correct and create, making sense of me and my star.]

  6. I've been subjected to quite a varied lot of music at work over the last few months and I think I can tell the difference between good jazz/folk/reggae/whatever to bad. I'l listen to most stuff but when it comes to buying albums i'm really picky. The only album I have that really stands out as a completely different genre from the others is 'Give' by The Bad Plus, a rather groovy jazz trio.

So, I'm probably a 6 on the basis that I have an opinion on music, other than I love it or I hate it.

  7. Little John's were looking for full time waiting staff over summer I think. Just print out heaps of CVs and hand them in everywhere, even if they haven't any jobs going, you never know.

Ooo, and I used to work in McCall's dress hire on Bridge Street, they normally get busy over summer what with weddings and graduations. Piss easy, just measuring guys for kilts.

Have you got an old employer you could approach?

  8. broadband and safety completely depends on the area. Don't be fooled by the new paintwork on the ones up by the bridge of don,it's still the same as any other inside. As for soundproofing - they're notoriously thin walled, I wouldn't expect much peace and quiet.

  9. id have to say....

Preacher Dude with his musical "god" box outside marks and spencer

I despise that guy, he's so smug. What the fuck gives *him* the right to play religious music, over everyone else. D'you think the council would allow it if it was any other religion?

  10. oo oo! Old Simon, always sings in karaoke in The Bassment on wednesday. Sits alone with a pint, seems to get drunk very quickly and is always about 2 seconds behind when he's singing.

(sorry if he's already been mentioned, I couldn't be bothered reading more than 4 pages back ^_^ )

  11. i'm going to be VERY sad here...

on the windows 95 cd' date=' there was a game called 'hover' in the demo folder... awesome game! anyways, i can't find it ANYWHERE- any ideas people?[/quote']

I loved it too! The hours I would spend happily hovering about, catching flags and jumping off ledges. Will see if I can find it anywhere. I vaguely remember my boyfriend's flatmate saying he knew where to find it.

  12. What exactly is the basis for you thinking that they were due back in November? Is it the date stamped on the inside cover? If so' date=' and if they're standard loan books (ie not HD or 3 day loan) then that date is just the date they were issued to you. QUOTE']

Oh my god, that's it! Thank you, I was getting so confused, I've only been to the lbrary about twice this uni year.

What kind of way is that to run a library fo fuck's sake? Just to confuse everyone they'll do everything the *opposite* way round.

    Grr.

    Now I feel stupid :O

  13. I've just discovered I should have returned these books in November :help:

I didn't get an email from them demanding the books back or threatening me with fines but I need to be prepared..how much do you think i'll owe them? They're not from the heavy demand or anything, just 2 anthropology books.

Do you think sticking them back on the shelf would work, avoid the fine?
