See I'm the opposite. I want updates from my friends' lives. I'm interested in what people are doing. I'm not interested in seeing what funny pictures they like, or if they tag a friend in a picture of a cheeseburger for no reason.

I just had a sandwich, didn't take a pic though, soz.

    This is good. 9/10.

Absolutely huge game for Leicester at the weekend v Swansea. I think that will go a long way to setting the tone for the remaining games. Spurs obviously have the 'easier' run in, but if Leicester beat Swansea I think they'll end up champions.

To be honest, as much as I'd love Leicester to win the league for all the romance, I have a bit of a soft spot for Spurs and it's hugely refreshing that the usual candidates are nowhere near.

On that note, how shite are Arsenal? Such bottlers. Wenger is such a prick - just go and spend some money, mate. He's got this reputation for 'bringing through youth', and yes I suppose he does bring them through and give them game time. Shame very few of them actually 'make it' in terms of the truly top level. For every Fabregas there are a hundred Armand Traores. And Walcott? Jesus - a massive prospect absolutely ruined. See also Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

  3. Yeah, sounds like a mentality issue. That will contribute to late goals too!

I also use conceding an early goal as an indicator that my tactic is unlikely to work in that game. I generally have two tactics (one is a 4-4-2, one is a 4-3-3) and if my standard 4-3-3 isn't working, or I concede very early I'll just change it. Basically don't be scared to make changes early if it's not working, it's one of the things that heavily contributed to my league win.

When you're winning, do you 'go defensive' to try and see it out? That often doesn't work, and invites teams on. I find that changing a formation (i.e. go five at the back) and individual players' mentalities seems to help this, but it's a pain in the arse and it's nearly always Celtic or Dundee Utd, the cunts. I would only ever go to a 'defensive' or 'contain' mentality with less than ten minutes to go, and bear in mind that if you have four players on 'attack' duty and change to 'defensive' overall that's going to fuck them up a bit. You should really not have any player on 'attack' duty if you're playing an overall defensive mentality.

For illustration, if you're playing your 4-2-3-1, I would have 'keeper, back four and your holding players on 'defend', change your striker's role to defensive forward or target man (on defend or support as it applies to each), wingers on support and I'd draw your attacking midfielder into the same strata as your holding players and make him on 'support':

Also, if you're playing defensively ALWAYS select 'waste time'.

I think my game has cocked up a bit. I raided Gothenburg in January for one of my best young players and brought him to PSV with me. Transfer went through, paid a couple of mill for him. He's registered in my league and Europa League squad. He's made a few appearances, scored goals, the lot. Then as I was about to play a Europa League fixture, this particular player was unavailable because he was playing for Gothenburg in another fixture that day(??). When I look at Gothenburgs squad, there he is. But when I click on his name, it brings up that he's a PSV player, but he's still playing games for Gothenburg as well.

So, it looks like we're sharing him, even though I'm paying his wages. Those crafty little shits.

Had he returned to play in someone's testimonial by any chance?

Ha ha,  thanks @Adam Easy Wishes.  I'll set up another tactic with your suggested changes and let the team get used to it and run it for a while and see how we go. Taylor and Reynolds was just a mistake and I rotate my 4 central mids depending on form. Fit into my formation or fuck off. I don't have a recognised ball winner but Jack is the most capable.

I do like to play very attacking. Long ball, lots of pace and everything down the wings. Three pronged attack. 5 if you include the full backs. I do concede a few but I score a lot too and it's way more fun to go gung-ho. I tighten it up a bit away from home but my away record is admittedly terrible.

I lost Rooney in my first preseason. A bid came in from Bournemouth, I rejected it and he demanded a move so I let him go. I only got a couple of  friendlies with him in the squad.

Actually, post your title winning tactics pls.

Will need to dig out a screenshot later.

  6. Okay, a couple of things:

    1. Please swap Ash Taylor and Mark Reynolds over (AT is right footed, MR is left footed). I would also personally change Taylor's role to Limited Defender (he excelled for me, and got Wales recognition in this position).

    2. Likewise, I'd be tempted to swap Ryan Jack and Kenny McLean, purely from a left/right foot situation. Obviously adapt positions to suit.

    3. Do you concede a lot of goals? Having both your full-backs as CWB(A) is very bold. I would probably shift Shinnie to a standard wing back on attack duty and make Logan a full-back on support. If you do this, then you're probably as well leaving Jack and McLean the way they are (to allow for Jack to cover Shinnie's side when he's rampaging forward.

    4. You arguably have to many players on 'attack' duty. Try putting both your wingers on 'support' (at the very least Johnny Hayes given Shinnie's 'attack' duty). I find that wingers are more effective with a 'support' duty because they are a) more involved and b) more creative when it comes to setting up a striker. I think thereafter you'll find that your striker scores more goals. If I were you, I'd put both wingers on 'support' and put your AP on 'attack'. In my experience playing an advance playmaker on attack duty will only work with an advanced forward or poacher up-front (any deep-lying position (F9, TM, DLF) seems to just get in their way).

    5. Are you getting the most out of your AP? Consider changing him to an attacking midfielder and using player instructions to turn him into a sort-of-AP (more risky passes, etc, etc).

    7. Stevie May and Jake Taylor are both excellent signings. Did you say you sold Rooney? He was absolutely brilliant for me in the first couple of seasons.

I know you didn't ask for advice, but you got it anyway lol

Inverness are running away with the league, annoyingly my inconsistent young striker (Jason Cummings) who I loaned out to them to get more game time since I signed a new number 9 pushing him down to third choice is the fucking league top scorer.

Cummings is incredible, get him back in January if you can and either play him as an advanced forward with a deep lying playmaker (balls over the top) or in a two upfront alongside a deep-lying forward/target man. Goals galore! Was my top scorer in my title winning season with Aberdeen (third season in).

  8. Okay, I might have asked this before, (so soz), but can anyone recommend some reading on the history of Aberdeen?

Happy to read about murders, architecture, politics, industry, whatevs, as long as it's a good/interesting piece of work.
