James Emslie
Hi, I've been tutoring guitar for a few years now but during that time I haven't done much performing - a few open mics here and there, the odd showband, but nothing very regular and certainly no conventional "gigging" in pubs etc. I've recently decided that I'd like to start getting some wee gigs as an acoustic guitarist/vocalist, (both for the joy of performing and to make a few extra pounds) but I'm not terribly sure where to start. Wondered if anybody has any advice about how to find/get gigs, how much to charge (or if most places decide for you how much they'll pay) and any other tips or hints. Thanks in advance, JamesE
AVB
literally everywhere. Every pub in town seems to have started an acoustic night recently. If your on FB add yourself to the Aberdeen Musicians group, there's usually people on there looking for acoustic acts
colb
Most of those acoustic nights in town pay you a beer or some food for playing.
