Friday 27th April - ‘Justice Forever' with DJ Lucifer and two hours of prime Led Zep.

LED ASTRAY

Inspired by the live recordings of ‘How The West Was Won’, ‘The Song Remains The Same’ and the BBC sessions, tribute act Led Astray aim to play Zeppelin's material with the bombast and improvisational flair of a typical 1970s Led Zeppelin performance. This means horse-hair bows and big fuck-off gongs, wailing vocals, medleys and the best drum solo ever recorded. With a full on set of a couple of hours length, there will be no support for this gig, with the band hitting the stage around 9pm. Please note that enterance fee from 8.45pm-11pm will be £5. But well worth it.

BAR ROOM CRAWL

Bringing Apocalyptic Funk to the masses, whether they want it or not! The Perth quintet are a fusion of funky slap bass, thorough guitar, malevolent keyboards, driving beats and sliding trombone, with a sinister, hammer-horror-esq under-tone.

THE PORK-CHOP EXPRESS

"Heavy rock based with a hint of punk and a dash of metal," is how this brand-new band describe themselves. So new, infact, that this is their debut gig. But fear not! ... you may recognize a couple of their number from former punkrock sensations, Johnny Skyscraper.

Saturday 12th May - ‘Release Your Kraken' with Fudge's Kraken-Tag-Team-DJ-Duo.

GAREEDA

Mixing all the best bits from blues, metal, rock'n'roll and booze, Gareeda's sound is unforgettable: this is a band that is here to stay, with intent and dedication. Hailing from Edinburgh, the stoner-metal monsters feature Stu Gordon (Tyrant Lizard Kings), Toni Martone (Dick Dangerous) and Michael Branagh (Degrassi). There's another Stu on vocals too, so let's assume he's been in some ace band also. They went down a storm playing with Firebrand Super Rock and Gutter Godz in December, so they're back for some more.

THE HEXX

When two of Aberdeen's established Rock bands dissolved, some members (through mutual appreciation of each others stuff) decided it would be fun to start a new band... Creating a God-fearing noise in the vein of classics such as Dinosaur JR, The Stooges and the work of Steve Albini, The Hexx was born. Featuring members of T13, Glassman and more...

WHAT THE BLOOD REVEALED

What the Blood Revealed is an instrumental rock band from Irvine on the West Coast of Scotland. They have created a sound influenced by such giants of the leftfield as Isis, Neurosis and Mogwai, and find their inspiration in science, and the truths it reveals.

With two well received EPs already, they've recently released an album on Field Records, recorded with Ross McGowan (United Fruit, Danananackroyd) and mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago (Om, Grails, Young Widows).

They've shared stages with great bands like Kylesa, This Will Destroy You, Maybeshewill, Crippled Black Phoenix, Storm of Light and many more, and have just finished a European tour.

[ ]

A duo, formed over a mutual love of Lighting Bolt, Porcupine Tree, Neurosis and TOOL. Although trying to combine these and other influences into one cohesive musical entity may seem like a bizarre and futile effort, [ ] have decided to make no qualms about being genrehopping, noise loving, pretentious bastards, and are loving every minute of it.

LARRY AND HIS FLASK

Larry and His Flask are a punk-bluegrass musical group from Central Oregon. Touring extensively they have supported several bands such as the Dropkick Murphies (a slot supporting the Dropkick Murphys in the Flask's hometown led to an invitation to open for the Celtic punk kingpins across the eastern half of the United States), Streetlight Manifesto, Strung Out, and more and embarked on full Canadian and American tours by themselves. Playing various festivals, the largest to date has been the 2011 Vans Warped Tour, with Alternative Press putting them on their '10 Must See Under-The-Radar Warped Tour Acts' list.

Brothers Jamin and Jesse Marshall formed the group in 2003 beginning as a punk rock trio. They, "spent [the] first half-decade stuck in a primordial, punk-rock goop" where the goal was always "party over perfection."

Since shifting to acoustic instruments and bringing tubas, trumpets, doublebass, mandolin and banjo into their sound, busking has also been a part of their tours: "We play a lot of street corners if we are low on gas money."

Determined to make music for a living or die trying, the six brothers set out in a van, intent on playing for anyone, anywhere at any time. From coffee shops to dive bars and street corners to theater stages, the Flask honed their sound and show through experience, attacking each gig like buskers who must grab and hold the attention of passersby in hopes of collecting enough change to get to the next town.

The band's new songs are a blurry blend of lightning fast string-band picking, gorgeous nods to old-school country, and sublime multi-part harmonies, all presented through a prism of punk chaos. The boys have grown and changed, yes, but their shows are still gloriously physical displays of live music's sheer power. In other words, keep your eyes peeled, or risk taking the heavy end of Jesse Marshall's flailing, stand-up bass right between the eyes.

CO-EXIST

Formed in 1998 and hailing from Glasgow, Co-exist (along with the likes of Man Must Die, Black Sun, Madman Is Absolute, Achren and Bleed From Within) have been forging the Scots metal scene for well over a decade.

"Scots Pitbull styled grind," is how the metal-grindcore-thrash five-piece describe themselves.

BONESAW

"We play death metal the way it was played back when death metal meant something but with some slight early grind and flower travelling band moments. Also squeeze some Voidvodisms in there and you pretty much have us sussed. Think Autopsy on a budget."

Appeared on stages all round the country, including a slot at The Damnation Festival alongside Lawnmower Death, Sabbat, Paradise Lost and Discharge. www.facebook.com/pages/Bonesaw-UK/196462990378202

SECTA ROUGE

Formed in Edinburgh in 2005, "We put a lot of ourselves into our music, at the expense of everyone immediately around us. We exhibit red hot anger and pathetic frailty anytime we try to communicate amongst ourselves so, with nothing else available to us, this is what shapes the sounds that we create."

Somehow they've have managed to play over 150 shows, toured the length of the UK and Ireland, had the unmittigated pleasure to play alongside some genuinely brilliant bands including (but not exclusively): Dysrhythmia, Zu, HORSE the Band, Ed Gein, Phoenix Bodies, Chickenhawk, Blakfish, Tombs, Meet Me in St Louis, Army of Flying Robots, Made Out of Babies, Errander, Chronicles of Adam West, Palehorse, Nitkowski, Astrohenge, Gay for Johnny Depp, El Schlong....you get the idea.

CANAYA

"What the industry has it's sights on" - Metal Hammer

From Leeds, featuring ex-members of Tangaroa, Year Of The Man, Imposters and more, Canaya's sound draws from an uncompromising urge to play powerful heavy music, pulling metal firmly into the 21st Century. The debut EP received great reviews in Rocksound (8/10), Big Cheese (5/5) and received heavy rotation on Total Rock Radio. The video for the single, 'Dios Muerto', became a YouTube favourite and caught the attention of Ginger from The Wildhearts, who asked Simon to record guest vocals on his upcoming solo album.

FIREBRAND SUPER ROCK

Real classic heavy metal with soaring female vocals, thundering riffs and proper screaming solos. Since forming in Edinburgh in late 2004, FIREBRAND SUPER ROCK have gigged tirelessly, played at festivals such as Bloodstock Open Air and Hammerfest and supported Slayer, Trivium, Mastodon and Amon Amarth at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Regular visitors to the bar, we have no reason to expect anything other than perfection.

DEADLOSS SUPERSTAR

"You will fall in love with this band guaranteed. I mean, basically the sound is like that of an airliner devastating gates 14-32 at JFK airport." - Is This Music?

Punk-rock-stoner hybrid fivepiece present their new drummer and bassist, and first new material in some five years. Prolific, they are not. With their lead guitarist heading off to live in Sweden soon, this is not likely to change very much. Perfection will not be involved.

Free entry before 8.45pm. Band onstage 9pm. £3 door tax. Strictly 18+ only, as ever. Plus! As it's the fourth saturday of the month, Alt.Karaoke host DJ Lucifer's rotating monthly clubnight Justice Forever will be running from 11pm until 3am. It'll be great. TEN TONNE DOZER

"Part Pantera, part Black Label, part System of a Down - and with great solos" - Metal Hammer

Ten Tonne Dozer are a powerful heavy rock unit who are based on the remote Shetland Islands. The band’s members’ geographical origins and tastes in music are extensive and varied: this is shown with great passion and skill through their high-octane original music. Ten Tonne Dozer have played numerous gigs dozering their way throughout UK and Europe, with their live shows having been described as ‘an overwhelming intense barrage of sound and visual exhibition’. What an awe inspiring mix of blood, sweat, broken strings, and sheep skulls.

www.facebook.com/tentonnedozer

SEMPERFI

In 2010 they gigged up and down Scotland relentlessly – including an appearance at Shetland’s ‘Vunk’ festival, while last year they filmed and released their first music video for the single ‘Sick of You’, supported bands such as Japan’s ‘Electric Eel Shock’, and embarked upon a 2-week UK tour, which saw them play cities such as Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle. To finish the tour they travelled to the island of Shetland to appear in ‘Vunk’ festival yet again – this time to headline the Friday night. Many things are planned for 2012, including the release of their debut album and a UK + European tour.

First act onstage 9pm, second act 10pm. Strictly 18+ only. Free entry before 8.45pm, £3 thereafter until close. DJ Jimsin will provide music from when the bands finish at 11pm, right up to 3am, with his new clubnight.

EVIL BLOOD

Formed during the Motorhead/Venom era of the early 80s in Split, Croatia (then part of Yugoslavia), the band enjoyed a huge following in Croatia, the U.K. and worldwide - some have even suggested Evil Blood were the first thrash metal band, "as from 82-83 noone could match their speed and ferocity." They’re now based a little closer to the bar, luckily for us.

DESECRATOR

Desecrator is the one-man death machine, consisting of Highland-born multi-instrumentalist, Mark Dubanowski (Mr. Keram Desecrator), combining thrash, black and death metal influences to create a sound of destruction!

Established five years ago as a studio band, in March 2012 Desecrator took to the stage for the very first time.

Played alongside bands such as Filthpact, Found On The Floor, PaRtY-CaNnOn and Agonised Deformity.

+ SAME FACES

As a band Same Faces feel that at the moment the whole music scene is full of Pop and Folk Rock, Flat Caps, pointy shoes and waist coats. Same Faces offer something totally different, writing far heavier material with powerful melodies and catchy riffs, much more in the genres of the bands that Same Faces were influenced by. Mix this with sexy tattoos, ripped jeans and really cool footwear and you have a totally different old school rock band.
